"Oi, spill! What are you here for? If you are here for Rin, then you better turn around now before I punch your face black and blue."

Shelly put her leg on the table in an intimidating manner to try and scare the pair sitting on the guest sofa.

Everyone else around her flinched at her bold choice, but the pair in front of her simply sipped their tea without a care in the world.

It made her feel annoyed to see them enjoying the tea so much and not even paying attention to her. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Finally, one of them addressed her before she could explode.

"I am afraid you do not intimidate us, Miss Shelly. Actually, your actions are rather adorable. I am enjoying them quite a lot."

Kyle spoke as he accepted the tea handed to him by Collin. His voice was smooth and slick, making Shelly feel disgusted.

She slammed her fist on the table to make a loud and intimidating noise, but neither of the guests seemed to care.

"Excuse me, but can I get some more sugar? This seems a little too bitter for my liking."

The girl called out to the butler, and Collin nodded before going to fetch her some sugar.

Shelly had a feeling that the tea had been laced with something. But neither guest in front of her seemed to care and continued sipping it.

"What do you both want from Rin? You better not beat around the bush or lie to me. I am not a good person like Rin, so I will take action quickly."

Shelly warned them, but the female guest just scoffed at her words.

"You are all bark and no bite. I can see your future even now, and the chances of you beating me anytime soon are still zero. So you better give up and not do anything drastic. And stop calling me ’female guest’ in your mind. I have a name—Mira. You better use it from now on."

Mira sounded annoyed by the fact that Shelly refused to say her name. Sparks were flying between the two women, making it clear that they had no intention of getting along.

It made everyone around them nervous that a fight would break out and destroy the base.

"Shelly, I know you are pissed, but there is a time and place to fight. Rin would be disappointed if we destroyed the base."

Albus reminded Shelly, and that was the only reason she calmed down.

Her opponent watched her and immediately scoffed at her restraint.

"What are you? A kid? Someone threatens to tattle on you to your boss and you fold like wet paper? Don’t you have any dignity?"

Mira goaded Shelly into getting angry once more. Everyone watched with anticipation to see where this would lead.

But Shelly decided to ignore her and simply took a seat.

Her desire to look good in front of Rin was much stronger than her desire to punch Mira in the face.

Mira looked surprised by Shelly’s restraint and opened her mouth to mock her again, only to be stopped by Kyle.

"Don’t pick unnecessary fights, Mira. Otherwise, I will have to leave you behind next time."

"You wouldn’t dare... no way! Ugh, fine! I will stay quiet. After all, you do need someone to keep an eye on you, or you would go and do something stupid. I might as well be that person."

There was a slight blush on Mira’s face that suggested her feelings on the matter were quite different from what she claimed.

Kyle seemed aware of her hidden affection as well, but he pretended not to notice.

Looking at the pair, everyone except Shelly could not help but feel that Kyle’s behavior was very similar to Rin’s.

Moreover, with that similar face as well, they all felt like this kid was related to Rin somehow.

The only problem was that it was a well-known fact that Rin was an only child and that his parents had no other family.

So either this kid was a clone or a well-hidden illegitimate child. Both options were bad enough.

The air was so tense that one could cut it with a knife. It made Teressa step forward and let out a sigh before turning toward the pair sitting on the guest sofa.

"I am afraid we cannot host you anymore. We will call you back once Rin is awake and has given us permission. Please leave for now before you make lifelong enemies out of us."

Teressa took charge of the situation, but her presence made Mira instantly frown.

"I have no need to listen to a non-essential person like you. Ugh, what I cannot believe is the fact that you are alive. According to my predictions and what was already foretold, you should have died a long time ago. You being alive has caused a lot of problems."

"Mira—"

"What? They deserve to know the truth, right? Fine, I will shut my mouth now. There, happy now?"

There was a lot Mira wanted to say, but she held her tongue because of Kyle’s mood.

Kyle sighed and decided that he had spent enough time in this settlement for now. They were starting to look uncomfortable.

"We shall take our leave for now, but this won’t be the end. We will come back later once Rin is awake. After all, the one we have business with is him."

Kyle spoke softly before standing up and starting to leave.

But he and everyone else felt a familiar presence entering the room, and they paused to see who had arrived.

"Are you leaving already? I thought you came here to meet me. For now, come in and we can have a talk."

Rin had decided to come downstairs, and his complexion looked much better compared to before.

Kyle decided to retake his seat with a relieved look on his face. However, only he and Mira looked fine. Everyone else seemed to be having a breakdown around him.

"What do you think you are doing out here, young master? You should be resting—"

"Get your ass back to bed right now, mister. This is not a place for you to be—"

"Rin, are you feeling tired? Should I take you back to your room right now? Not that I have a problem with you being here and all, but I feel like it would be much more comfortable for you."

Rin’s party was trying their best to keep him away from Kyle.
