My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 335 - 333
Chapter 333
’Okay. Show me this shop interface.’
Almost immediately, the screen changed from a bright blue to an earthy brown, illuminating the boy’s face.
And what he saw almost blew his mind away.
He instantly sat upright from his laid-back position, a shocked look on his face as he began scrolling and scrolling, seeing the amazing things displayed in front of him.
From weapons that ranged from the Advanced rank to the Emperor rank, everything was on full display.
Different weapons like katanas, short swords, daggers, staves, bows and arrows, spears, lances, cleavers, rapiers, and so on were lined up.
The shop didn’t only have weapons, but utility equipment and more mundane items like cloaks, pairs of clothes, strange glasses, gloves, boots, headgear, and smoke bombs.
Anything that could be used to help him was found there.
Meanwhile, the most dangerous categories of them all were locked and greyed out.
For example, he couldn’t access anything beyond the Emperor rank in the weapons category; they were completely greyed out.
Even the weapons he could see, though not greyed out, had a dull color to them—an earthy brown just like the interface before him.
Hence, he couldn’t see their descriptions nor how useful they were, just their ranks and nothing more.
’Huh? How am I now supposed to shop? What am I going to exchange in order to get my items?’
[Defeating beasts and completing some quests helps give items from the shop. And the items are random and not decided upon by the host. You could get a piece of chewing gum, a world-breaking weapon, or even something as useless as a pee bucket.]
’Great. So I don’t even get to choose what I want? I just get whatever the system wants to give me at random, at that. And knowing how wicked the system is, it could just keep giving me useless things. Sigh.... This is bad.’
Rubbing his face, he stared at the shop interface a while longer and then pinched the bridge of his nose before waving the screen away.
’I hope I have immense luck to receive something great on my first use.’
Looking back to see the others, who were all done with their exploration of the hollow but still arguing, he looked away and turned toward the system.
’Okay. Show me the bloodline skill I got.’
[Name: Arc of Judgement]
[Description: Arc of Judgement creates a holy, sword-like beam of light capable of cutting through enemies and foes who aren’t overwhelmingly stronger than the host.]
[Cost: 30 points of energy for each beam.]
If Ray had been drinking water at the moment, he would have definitely spewed it out at what he was seeing in front of him.
Not only had he just gained an offensive celestial skill, but the cost was crazy high—higher than anything he had ever received.
His eyes were bulging incredulously as he read the description and the energy cost of the skill again and again.
’Ugh... I’m cooked.’
He turned to look at his energy bar.
[Energy: 70/170]
’I guess I can only use this skill five times. Damn. This is crazy.’
"Ohoy~! Ray. We need you to come light up the fire for us. We want to roast this meat. We are hungry," Chloe shouted from where they sat.
Ray turned to look at them with a frown on his face.
’I’m here worried about all I have got and they are worried about food? Stupid idiots.’
"Ohoy~! What’s taking so long? I’m starving!" Van cried out as he looked in the Tribrid’s direction.
Ray forced a fake smile and rose from the furry bed.
And only then did he realize how much agony his body was in at the moment.
He had even forgotten how powerful the Herald had been. Just one hit was enough to take so much HP from his body.
If he had endured one more hit, he would have definitely lost his life.
Luckily, there were some dry bones which the group had gathered, hence Ray was able to shoot lightning into them, watching them burst into flames.
As he watched the flames crackling while the others rushed to get to work and skin the beast, a thought creased his mind.
’Wait... 78 points of Endurance and thirty points of hp was taken off from that one hit the Herald dealt me. Now what would have happened if my endurance level was lower? I-I-I would have died?’
Coming to that realization, Ray’s mind spun as he dragged himself back toward the furry bed almost like a zombie.
From what he had noticed, the Herald wasn’t a typical beast because before they came here, he had searched for its core and found none.
Settling into the bed, he watched as the group a few meters away bickered as they skinned the freshly dead beast they had found in the lair of the guardian.
"Hey, watch it. You are getting blood all over," Van scolded Kai.
"My bad. My bad. Being a legacy, I have never done this before."
"None of us have. I mean, I have never eaten a wild beast before. Circumstances are forcing us to do this, so we need to adapt," Chloe sighed as she carefully used the ice dagger given to her by Trisha to carve the meat.
’Adaptation, huh?’ Ray thought as he listened to the words of his comrades.
’In order to evolve and grow stronger, I need to adapt and toss away any form of fear in my mind. So from this moment onwards, I have decided....’
«Decided what?»
Ray clenched his hands tightly as an idea flashed through his mind while looking at the group laughing at Kai, who got blood splattered on himself.
’... I need to grow stronger. No matter the challenge, no matter the strength, I will take it head-on and prevail.’
«Okay? That’s...uh.... That’s motivational,» Elyon shrugged indifferently as the smell of roasted meat began to waft through the hollowed ground.
