10,000x Reward Multiplier: Hell-level Kingdom Building-Chapter 23: [0] Killing The hobgoblins
The three of them were confused for totally different reasons.
The three brothers wondered why their chief was speaking to someone like that, while Floki had so many questions about who Breeze actually was that made his men act with so much animosity towards him.
Floki was not the totally clueless type. Simply by seeing their reaction, he had come up with a guess, but it was an odd one, as there was no way someone like that would speak to him so casually and even offer him assistance to grow stronger.
The three of them simply stared silently at one another, their silence sharply contrasting the wailing cries of the crippled hobgoblins, who at this moment were not only in anguish but were also totally humiliated, and not even that, they were humiliated in the presence of women.
"I have so many questions," Floki spoke first.
"But I have to take care of something very important first."
He gripped the sword Breeze had left behind for him and turned towards the nearest hobgoblin, who froze upon seeing his firm grip and the cold expression adorning his face.
Floki strode closer, and with a swing that carried all his strength, he chopped off the head of the hobgoblin. The head fell to the ground with a faint thump as blood splattered everywhere, even on Floki.

He ignored the blood, as he was already too stained to be concerned about something like that. Yet his eyes lingered on the holographic window floating in front of him.
He wasn’t expecting to receive skill points after killing the hobgoblin.
’so killing a boss grants both experience points and skill points, unlike normal monsters that grant only experience points,’ he noted inwardly.
Nonetheless, just as he was about to step away from the corpse to proceed with killing the last boss, who was already crying, a thought suddenly crossed his mind.
"Monsters usually drop some sort of core that can be used for many purposes," he muttered to himself.
The original Floki had never slain a single beast in his life, and no one in Ironside had ever slain goblins, based on what he knew.
Thus, no one would have been able to discover such loot.
As a result, he decided to test out his theory.
"Cores are usually located in the brain region of monsters."
So he began to stab his sword repeatedly into the head of the hobgoblin he had just slain, not stopping even as flesh tore under the blade.
Jabba and Anton froze and stared at Floki speechlessly.
What is wrong with their young chief? Why is he stabbing a monster that is already dead? They wondered, yet they did not act. After all, the action was not hurting him.
The women, on the other hand, grew wary of him, thinking he had somehow been possessed.
Even the other hobgoblin began to wail even harder, seeing the fate of its deceased comrade and the brutality of the act.
Yet Floki did not seem to care as he continued, only pausing when his sword struck something hard.
"Found it."
A faint smile crept onto Floki’s face as he squatted and dug his hand into the puddle of flesh he had created, causing the onlookers to stare with their mouths agape, thinking he was about to eat the flesh.
Floki retrieved his hand, now holding a half-fist-sized round crystal with a pale green glow that immediately caught the eyes of everyone, turning their disgusted expressions into ones of interest.
[ You’ve found x1 high-bronze grade monster core. Would you like to see a description? ]
The system triggered a notification.
Floki did not reject the option.
[ Monster cores: Obtained from monsters, containing their condensed attributes. They can be utilised for crafting, potion-making, and even cultivation. ]
Floki understood the first two uses; nonetheless, he had no idea how to use monster cores for cultivation. He asked the system, and thankfully, it provided answers without delay.
[ The monster core can also be cultivated in different manners.
Meditation: Absorbing the energy stored within by concentrating all your senses on it. A mana absorption skill or technique is required.
Direct absorption: Digest the attributes stored within by simply eating it. This is much more efficient, as more than 80% of the stored attributes are absorbed into the body, unlike meditation. Nonetheless, just like meditation, a special skill is required. ]
"Can I purchase these skills from the shop?"
[ Positive. ]
Floki smiled; finally, he had found a new way to grow stronger.
Maybe he could even purchase and share this skill with his people as a reward through [Quest Provider], and in return, evolve them into their stronger selves.
"Why is he smiling like that?"
Anton muttered, utterly confused as he observed the odd behaviour of their young chief.
He turned to his brother and asked, "Did that bastard do anything to him?"
"I can’t tell," Jabba responded plainly, as he was just as confused as his younger brother.
Meanwhile, Floki realised he had run out of space in his inventory to store the monster core and felt a trace of frustration.
The other hobgoblin’s cries became more irritating in Floki’s current state; thus, he strode closer and slew it without pausing, ending its wails instantly.
[ You’ve slain x1 Boss, Hobgoblin, EXP +150, Skill points +5 ]
[ 10x multiplier applied. EXP +1500, Skill Points +50 ]
[ Total EXP: 3000 ]
[ Skill points: 100 ]
The notification flashed before his eyes, but one important one was missing.
The quest still had not been completed.
He had not found the dungeon core yet.
He hurriedly opened his quest panel, and to his surprise, there were only ten minutes left.
’What! Wasn’t it three hours? How is it only ten minutes remaining now?’
Floki began to panic, his grip tightening slightly as urgency filled his mind.
