Chapter 568: Chapter 568: Children Who Like Sweets

Tang Yu seemed to have no intention of continuing to answer that question, but asked with concern, "Xiaoqiao is alright, isn’t she?"

Leng Jing, relieved to have a distraction, glanced at the empty plates on the table and said, "She clearly ate too much."

Tang Yu couldn’t help but laugh.

Leng Jing casually inquired, "Are you getting used to it yet?"

Tang Yu nodded, his gaze gentle, "Mmm. An An has helped me a lot."

Xie Anan shyly lowered her eyes, "Between us, there’s no need to mention help or not!"

"When are you planning to get married?" Leng Jing blurted out the question before she was struck by surprise, realizing she had brought up the topic herself.

"I need to wait for my parents to come back and discuss it. Even though I don’t remember them, they are still my parents, and I can’t possibly decide such a significant matter on my own," Tang Yu said, his expression a mix of helplessness, "But, I don’t know why, they seem... reluctant to come back. I wonder if I did something wrong? Perhaps they are upset because I forgot about them..."

His tone of helplessness and loss constricted Leng Jing’s heart little by little as if a pair of hands were crumpling a previously smooth piece of paper, to the point that she overlooked the implication in Tang Yu’s words that he had already decided, just waiting for his parents’ approval, and was only left with concern and anxiety for him.

However, she didn’t know how to comfort him and could only say stiffly, "It has nothing to do with you."

In contrast, Xie Anan held his arm, her heart aching as she comforted him gently and considerately, "Tang Yu, how could you think like that! Your uncle and aunt must be held up by something important! Didn’t your aunt say? She misses you very much and will come back as soon as possible! Don’t overthink things! And, when you’re a bit healthier, we can go to the US to see them, can’t we?"

Leng Jing felt she couldn’t sit still any longer, yet Xiaoqiao was still nowhere to be seen, which made her feel like she was on pins and needles.

Tang Yu looked at her and suddenly asked, "Will you come to my wedding?"

Leng Jing’s head shot up, unprepared for his abrupt question.

Just as Leng Jing didn’t know how to answer, thankfully, Xiaoqiao finally returned.

"Sorry for making you wait so long!" Xiaoqiao’s face was somewhat pale, and she looked quite uncomfortable.

At first, she thought Xiaoqiao was faking it, but now it seemed she was genuinely feeling awful.

"Why is your face so pale?" Leng Jing asked with concern.

Devoid of energy, Xiaoqiao slumped over Leng Jing’s shoulder, managing a wry smile, "Xiao Jing, it seems like a big problem... accompany me to the hospital, will you?"

"What exactly is wrong?" the color drained from Leng Jing’s face from fear.

Xiaoqiao pointed to her stomach, "Here... seems to have more than just cake!"

The four of them split up at the dessert shop, with Leng Jing taking Xiaoqiao to the hospital.

By the time they walked out of the hospital, it was already past ten at night.

Xiaoqiao looked down and touched her belly, "They say sour for a boy, spicy for a girl, but what about a preference for sweets?"

"It’s a child who likes sweets," Leng Jing replied like so.

The answer was truly devoid of any reference value.

"I wonder if Gu Hangshen will want..." Xiaoqiao mumbled with her head bowed.

Leng Jing immediately said, "How could he possibly not want it?"

"Who knows! He’s so busy, and I just can’t settle down at home to be a housewife, not to mention Xiao Nian is already giving us a hard time," Xiaoqiao lamented.

"Pregnant women really do tend to overthink things! You should hurry back and tell Gu Hangshen! Stop worrying by yourself here!" Leng Jing urged.
