Chapter 210: Puzzle Skin XIII

7 Eastbourne Rd

"Ah, they are waiting for a match," he said and Anna nodded in response. "We learned that Mr Murdoch is AB-, which is only .06 % of the population."

"That’s good news for us, we only need--" the slicked blond started then paused when he noticed his older sibling pulling out a flash drive from between her bosom. He took it from her manicured hand and made his way towards his computer, while the woman took it as her cue to stand. She knew he would be busy narrowing down the list of people known to have such blood in the country. However, they both knew the great possibility of the syndicate not just getting their supply’ from homeless people in the streets. No, they could be importing them, smuggling from other nations.

"I’ll take my leave." the platinum blonde said not receiving a reply from him as his focus was now on the file on the computer screen. Her heels clicked against the surface with every step she took, she showed herself out. Closing the door behind her as she left.

It was moments later when she leaned back comfortably inside the vehicle, Ruben sat on the driver seat taking her home. It wasn’t just what she discovered, of course, and as she expected there were a lot of familiar influential names that had started popping during the investigation; from business moguls to politicians, some of which are even connected to the royal family.

Anna sighed, she reckoned that she will be getting wrinkles from both lack of sleep and Stress, from all that. She wondered if maybe she should’ve remained in the real estate business, lived the straight, quiet successful life in the light. She was doing great after all. But she just had to be her brother’s shadow, following behind where he went. What’s worse was he went in places most men would not dream of, and the chaos she knew he could be involved in... ’that reckless attitude of his will get him killed one day,’ she thought to herself.

The so-called ’friends’ he keeps just for the sake of solving a mystery.

Is it a Sense of justice he seeks? Something that was born from the trauma he faced?

No, it wasn’t justice. Justice had never been her younger brother’s concern. It had never been his driving force.

It was Answers.

It was simply the Truth.

Truth to be revealed to the World.

Possibly rooted from the years of having to grow up in a household filled with secrets. Dark secrets.

Her mind couldn’t help but wander towards that wretched fateful night decades ago. She knew it even before it happened, but she wished so much for her to be wrong.

She could still recall the strong scent of iron that clung to her brother, as he stood there before her inside their Aunt’s house. How the red and blue light swirled on top of the police car outside. And how his cold body shook under the blanket. How their ’mother’ gently wiped his blood-stained face with a wet cloth and how pale his face was beneath the red. And most of all, how dead his eyes looked when he stared back at her. Eyes filled with hatred, and betrayal.

Anna rubbed her temples in frustration, she should have forced them away. She should have dragged them out of that house. She should have done more. And maybe just maybe...NO, her own voice echoed within her mind. It wasn’t time to look back and regret.

She was a child herself.

She was powerless.

She too, was afraid of her father. A powerful man.

All that has changed now was she wasn’t afraid of powerful men anymore,.No, she had them now wrapped around her fingers. Dancing to the tune she wishes to play.

However, she can’t exactly relax as of yet, this very thing is different. She needed someone, a different kind of man.

The chance of this case getting swept under the carpet was huge, she needed connection. A powerful one, one that didn’t sway even towards the royals.

She needed Taylor Ryan.

.....

Morning

Levi didn’t take long narrowing down the list Anna had given him. It was a small list of people in the UK considering how rare it was for people to have such blood type, most people who do tend to create a group in cases of emergency that they needed blood. So, access to the list wasn’t difficult, however, he needed to perform his investigation regarding each one.

Organ Matching has certain criteria for greater chances of success, after all, body type was something to consider, also age, so anyone under-aged he took off the list immediately. That didn’t really helped much.

Now he had to identify anyone who wasn’t in good health, and for him to do that he needed some assistance. It was Marco’s field of expertise after all.

"Marco! Perfect timing!" The freshly washed slicked blond cheered when the bearded man entered hours later. "Good morning, Levi." the man replied, his tone filled with suspicion so early in the morning. He didn’t like how his friend was grinning, the glint of mischief in his eyes tended to result with him as the victim.

"Don’t be suspicious." the blond said, noting the man’s expression. He offered his friend a printed list of people, and the doctor sent him an expectant look. "Those are a list of people with AB-negative blood type." the blond said, causing Marco’s brows to furrow.

"Oh, Anna dropped by last night sharing news that Murdoch is not only acting as middlemen but also as a customer. He is in grave need of organs, but with luck, on our side, he is AB negative." the blond explained, grinning widely.

Ah, that’s why he was happy. Someone he hated was about to die, Marco thought. Can’t really blame the guy, he thought as he sat on his desk reading the file.

"I want you to use some of your connections. We need access to medical files" the blond said, causing Marco’s eyes to widen. So, as he originally thought, yet again he was going to be the victim. It was against the law to read someone’s medical records without consent.
