100X Returns System: I Dominate the Age of Gods-Chapter 217. The way to win this war - 3
Maris’s figure appeared in front of Andrea and Kevin as the hull of the black ship opened up. The massive craft hovered silently a few meters above the clearing.
Faint streams of energy ran along the seams of its metal surface, glowing softly in intricate patterns that hinted at complex artificing beyond conventional design.
Her outfit was a fitted black leather ensemble that clung tightly to her form, its surface traced with faint gold filigree along the seams.
A high collar had clasped neatly at her throat, while her loose golden hair had spilled across the shoulders of a dark cape patterned with subtle gilded designs.
Around her waist, a broad utility belt carried pouches and a sheathed rapier, and she wore a golden raven mask that transformed her pupils to a similar shade.
Her golden eyes landed on the two figures wearing loose robes and gawking at her with wonder.
That was the exact expression she had wanted to see on these faces.
Maris, satisfied by their reactions, descended the still-levitating aircraft through an extendable platform that had now been drawn out from the craft.
The platform slid outward smoothly before lowering gradually toward the ground while the aircraft remained perfectly suspended in the air.
Maris quietly came forward and stood in front of them. "Greetings to the crystal dragon. I see that you came uninvited, well, not that it matters." Maris chuckled and then addressed them both.
"Leaders from the academy, I am Golden Raven, a humble servant of my lord, the Eternal Sovereign," Maris introduced herself.
Andrea nodded. "We got a letter from the Eternal Sovereign claiming that you guys have a solution to our current predicament."
Maris nodded; she waved her hands, and from her space ring, a huge black metallic case appeared on the ground. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
The sudden appearance of the object caused a dull thud as its heavy frame struck the ground.
The huge black box had the golden engraving of a sun within which an infinity symbol rested; this was now the official symbol of William’s organization.
"Please open it," Maris told them.
Kevin nodded and moved to the case’s front; he unhooked the front and opened its hatch-like body. What greeted his sight left him shocked.
Thousands of lightstones lined up neatly in front of him, emitting energy he had never felt from the trash sold by the cults.
The stones glowed with pure radiance; each one released dense light elemental energy.
Even standing a few steps away, Andrea could feel the radiance of these stones spreading through the air.
Her eyes widened too, and she gulped. This was exactly what they needed the most right now, but Maris didn’t give her a chance to speak. "164,000 lightstones, enough to last you for 3 months."
As Maris told them their exact requirement of the amount of light stones that they consumed, both Andrea and Kevin couldn’t help but shiver.
They realized that their daily consumption, which was a secret to most people, was known to Golden Raven, and that revelation made Eternal Sovereign’s identity even more unsettling in their minds.
But this was not all; Maris waved her hands, and a scroll appeared in her hands. She passed it to Kevin.
Kevin took the scroll and inspected its contents.
"This is a temporary formation blueprint."
"This will help end the war in a few hours," Maris said.
Kevin just stared at her in surprise at her claims; he then looked at the requirements of the array.
"Gasp!!! 10,000 lightstone just for one hour," Kevin gasped.
Maris only shrugged at him. "It’s your choice whether you want to end the battle soon or stretch it to a month or even longer."
Andria looked at Kevin’s changing expressions curiously. She then turned to Maris and nodded, "Thank you."
"Don’t thank us, Miss Andrea," Maris turned to speak. "My lord doesn’t help; he lends favors, and favors must be repaid." She spoke with a quiet steadiness.
Andrea gulped. "What does the eternal sovereign need from us??" She thought that these people would now demand something so exorbitant and hard for the academy to repay.
Maris looked at her for a moment. "Don’t worry; we are believers of equivalent exchange unless we are dealing with demons."
"The academy will assist my lord’s cause 3 times; you will have to take an oath of heavens," Maris said, taking out three fingers in front of Andrea.
Andrea gulped; even though Maris assured her that the favors they would ask would be worth the help they were providing, she was still skeptical.
But then she gave a second look to those lightstones; they were her last hope, and as long as the academy survived, then it would be all worth it, she told herself.
Within a few moments, the terms for the oath were decided, and a few clauses were added, ensuring the survival and interests of the academy.
Maris then handed Andrea another scroll. "This is the first assistance my lord needs from you; contact Riverdale’s emperor, Aurelius Dalton, after 15 days and assist him in subduing the Clayman cult. The timeline of the attack is in a few weeks."
Andrea and Kevin both got confused. "What?? Emperor Aurelius is going to attack the Clayman cult??"
Maris simply nodded and refrained from adding anything.
Kevin hesitated for a moment. "I doubt we will be able to get out of our own predicament sooner than 15 days."
Maris looked at Kevin and then pointed at the formation blueprint in his hands without saying anything.
Kevin, meanwhile, gave it a second look, still skeptical about its capabilities.
Maris then turned. "I’ll take my leave; take care, you two."
Andrea and Kevin looked at each other for a moment before turning to her.
"I think you created a lot of commotion in the area when you arrived; I sense a squad of several strong demons approaching this location. They will try to follow your flying artifact now," Andrea tried to warn as she sensed some presence in the periphery.
She was fully capable of handling these demons on her own, but she still warned the Golden Raven.
She wanted to access this individual’s strength and gain any insight about her she could.
Maris looked at Andrea. "You don’t need to worry, Miss Andrea; the demons will be only inviting death if they dare lurk around me," as if waiting on cue.
Maris raised her hand, and with that action, the massive structure of the spacecraft behind her transformed with a creaking noise as if a beast had awakened.
Before they knew it, metal panels shifted and folded across the ship’s hull, locking into new configurations as layers of armored segments slid apart, revealing a long, sleek cannon hidden within the craft.
Andrea and Kevin looked at the strange transformation of the flying artifact; they wondered what was happening.
With a charging sound, several floating runes materialized around the cannon’s mouth.
Maris then just clenched her hands inward, and a super-energized beam infused with the thunder element shot from the massive cannon toward the east.
Andrea looked at the massive beam being shot. She sensed the impossible speed at which the energized beam struck the squad of demons that was trying to lurk around this area.
Nothing remained of them; they were just vaporized into nothingness.
The forest in that direction lit up for a brief moment before falling silent again.
Andrea gawked at the marvel in front of her, even though she would not be affected by this weapon one bit since the level of attack was at the divine spark realm; yet, if countless of these ships were to be used in a war, then they would wreak havoc on the enemy side.
This ship did not just indicate massive firepower but also the advancement of artificing and engineering far superior to the academy’s.
At this point, Andrea’s speculation turned into beliefs; the Eternal Sovereign was not someone whom they could underestimate anymore.
