30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 328: Movie Premiere
"I..." Tommy was speechless, choked by Ethan’s words, and fumed, "Fine! I’m done with you! I’m letting you know that many people, including Nanny and her son, have been arrested. I’ve also heard Father is sending people to find Rabbit’s relatives—those you swapped identities with and sent abroad. You know the consequences."
You know the consequences.
Ethan gripped his phone tightly. Tommy continued, "By the time the sun rises tomorrow, Father will order them killed one by one."
So soon...
Killed one by one.
Tommy’s voice returned, "I thought you had thought this through. Dealing with Father is worse than dealing with the devil. But the moment something happens to Rabbit, you throw caution to the wind. Is this the happiness you want? Or the happiness Rabbit wants?"
"I don’t need you to lecture me."
"I’m just reminding you to think carefully. Are you really going to follow in my footsteps?" Tommy said earnestly before hanging up.
Ethan sat on the edge of the bed, his fingers clenched around the phone, his veins bulging. His face was cold, and his eyes were deep.
Killed one by one...
Nanny and her son...
...
After getting the burn ointment from the front desk, Lily couldn’t resist returning to the restaurant on the same floor of the 30 Days Memorial Hotel. The large shell was no longer in the trash bin.
Lily approached a waiter. "Where’s the shell that Ethan threw away? The biggest one—I don’t know what kind of shellfish it was."
Heart-shaped balloons still floated around the restaurant.
The waiter looked troubled. "Well... we took it away. We thought we’d give it back to Mr. Blackwood later."
Did you take it away?
It was just a shell for eating; why take it away?
Lily grew more confident of her suspicions. The waiter, nervous about being questioned, glanced around. Following her gaze, Lily spotted the large shell on the restaurant’s front desk.
Without a word, Lily walked over and picked up the shell. The waiter didn’t dare stop her.
Lily quickly opened the shell.
Sure enough, a ring lay inside, accompanied by two white pearls, their glow soft yet striking.
Even though she had guessed it, seeing the ring made Lily’s heart race.
She remembered his words: "Give me three months, and I’ll marry you."
Was he... planning to propose today?
Give her a surprise?
He probably thought he had prepared a romantic and mysterious surprise, but her offhand comment had ruined it.
All the mystery was gone...
Lily picked up the ring. Unlike the gemstone ring she wore, this one wasn’t luxurious and suitable for both men and women. Its simple lines showcased intricate craftsmanship, clearly not something made quickly. Engraved on it were the letters L&E.
Had he been preparing this ring for a long time?
He actually... always wanted to marry her, didn’t he? It wasn’t just talk.
Lily left the restaurant, unable to resist slipping the ring onto her other finger. It fit perfectly; he knew her ring size down to the millimeter.
Lily, shouldn’t you muster the courage to love again? Not for any other reason but for Ethan.
Live on, love on... just for Ethan. Regardless of everything that’s happened, love him recklessly...
Lily stared at the ring in her hand for a long time before taking it off and putting it in her pocket. She walked back to the room.
In the room, Ethan lay casually on the bed. Lily sat cross-legged beside him, focused on applying the burn ointment.
Should she tell him now that she had discovered the ring?
The engagement ring...
She should say yes, right?
"Lily."
In the quiet room, Ethan’s magnetic voice suddenly rang out. Lily looked up, and his face was close to hers, accurately kissing her lips.
Lily froze, caught off guard.
Ethan’s kiss was brief. He frowned and pulled back, lying on the bed. "Lily, can’t you kiss back?!"
Always not responding to him...
When would she regain her will to live instead of always looking so troubled?
...
It was because he was too sudden; she hadn’t had time to react.
Lily didn’t respond, continuing to apply the ointment, spreading it evenly across his palm.
"Come to bed."
Ethan stretched out his arm, pulling her into his embrace, letting her head rest on his arm. He turned to his side, holding her tightly, his lips brushing against her forehead. "Sleep."
"We just woke up not long ago." They had just woken up and eaten some seafood, and now he wanted to sleep again?! Was she the one carrying the AuroraVirus, or was he?
"Doesn’t matter, sleep."
Ethan said domineeringly, his arms tightly wrapped around her body, closing his eyes to sleep.
...
Lily couldn’t break free from his hold, so she let him be.
Ethan’s eyes were closed, but his brows were furrowed. Lily lay in his arms, quietly gazing at his face.
"Lily, if you keep looking at me, I won’t be able to sleep." Ethan’s voice suddenly rang out, though his eyes remained closed.
"..." Lily waved her hand in front of his face. "I thought you were already asleep."
"If you want to do something else, I can stay awake." Ethan still had his eyes closed, but his hand slipped under her shirt, his fingers teasing her back...
"Okay, okay, you sleep."
Lily quickly surrendered, not daring to say more.
That day, Ethan didn’t take her anywhere. They spent the entire day and night lying in bed, doing nothing but holding each other and sleeping...
Lily dozed off and on for a few hours whenever sleepiness overwhelmed her.
Ethan’s eyes remained closed the whole time, so Lily couldn’t tell if he was asleep. Every time she tried to get up and stretch, Ethan’s arms held her firmly.
"Ethan, I’m hungry."
Whenever Lily said this, Ethan immediately opened his eyes and called room service to bring food.
Lily suspected he hadn’t been sleeping at all.
After eating, Ethan held her again, his arms tightly encircling her body, his breath enveloping her as they lay together.
"Ethan..." Lily felt the ring in her pocket.
"Shut up and sleep." Ethan cut her off firmly, holding her as he continued to sleep.
"..."
Was he that tired? Spending the entire day doing nothing, going nowhere, just holding her and sleeping... as if he hadn’t slept in years.
Sunlight streamed through the window into the room again. Lily was now fully awake, nudging the man beside her. "Ethan, it’s morning."
Ethan seemed not to hear, still holding her and sleeping soundly...
Was he that exhausted?
They had slept all day and night; he should wake up by now.
Lily lay in his arms, looking at the bright sunlight outside. The sound of a phone vibrating came from Ethan’s phone.
Lily struggled to reach out from his embrace and grabbed the phone from the pillow. It was a call from Tommy.
...
Glancing at the sleeping Ethan, Lily answered the call. Before she could speak, Ethan snatched the phone away, but Tommy’s voice was evident in the quiet room.
"It’s started. One down."
Ethan immediately hung up and tossed the phone aside.
"I thought you were still asleep." Lily stared at Ethan, whose deep, black eyes were fixed on her, unreadable.
"I’m awake," Ethan said, his voice low and magnetic.
"What did your brother mean by ’one down’?" Lily asked, puzzled.
Ethan’s eyes were deep, bottomless.
It had started...
"I don’t know," Ethan said, holding her tighter.
Lily knew he wouldn’t tell her, no matter how much she asked. He always kept her behind an invisible wall, preventing her from genuinely reaching him...
What was he thinking? What was he hiding? She had no idea.
Ethan turned to look at the dazzling sunlight outside, his face expressionless, cold, and gloomy...
After a while, Lily heard Ethan say, "Lily, we should go see a movie."
"Oh."
...
The movie premiere was held nearby, with special security arrangements. Ethan and Lily entered through the VIP entrance, avoiding the media.
In the VIP lounge, Lily watched the movie’s premiere press conference. There were many reporters, but only a few asked questions about the movie. The rest were trying to find out where the director, Lily, was...
Perhaps what they wanted to ask wasn’t about the director but about Ethan’s lover.
Such a change in identity could generate a lot of buzz.
They waited until the movie started before Ethan took Lily’s hand and left the VIP lounge. The lights were already off when they entered the theater, and no one noticed them.
They took their seats in the VIP section.
Before the movie officially started, the theater was a bit noisy. Two girls behind them were discussing with indignation.
"I bet a hundred packs of instant noodles that this movie will be terrible!"
"What should we do? I’m on your side. Who are we betting against?"
"It will be another fake tearjerker with a nonsensical plot. That’s what so-called blockbusters are like these days. We’ve seen too many." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Lily sat in silence, Ethan gripping her hand tightly.
