70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman-Chapter 355: Yin Yang Is Back
After breakfast, Xu Mumu gently patted the little guy’s little butt. How dare he wet the bed on her bed, such bravery.
Luckily, the sun is quite strong now, and the cotton quilt should be completely dry after a day of sunlight.
The little guy didn’t seem to feel punished at all, happily eating an orange. The oranges that Liu Cuixia brought were quite sweet, even Xu Mumu liked them.
"Sis." The little guy can now call his sister, and he does so joyfully when he sees Xu Mumu.
"Let sister have some, okay?" Xu Mumu eyed the orange in the little guy’s hand.
Xu Mingfeng looked at his sister in bemusement, not knowing what she was up to.
Xu Mumu took his chubby little hand, which was holding a slice of orange, and fed it directly into her mouth.
The little guy caught on and fed another slice to his sister’s mouth.
"No more, give it to grandma." Xu Mumu said with a smile.
"Grandma." The little guy can call grandma and sister.
"Right, let’s go, sister will take you to find grandma." Xu Mumu led the little guy to the edge of the plot where Madam Chen and Old Xu were watering the vegetable seedlings with household waste water.
"Grandma." The little guy ran happily towards grandma upon seeing her.
Madam Chen quickly put things down and hurried over to pick up the little guy, preventing him from stepping on the freshly planted seedlings.
"Grandma, little brother brought you an orange to eat." Xu Mumu said with a smile.
"Oh my, my grandson is so thoughtful." Madam Chen was moved seeing the little guy offer the orange, truly the grandson she raised knows how to be filial.
Old Xu was envious; the second name the little grandson managed to say wasn’t grandpa, but sister. Both Xu Minglei and Old Xu felt a bit sour.
"Grandma, is the tofu plant planted by second aunt? It’s so tender, let’s pick some and make soup at noon." Xu Mumu looked at the tofu plant growing in the garden, the leaves were thick and large, thinking of making egg soup with this tofu plant and some broken matsutake mushrooms. That taste, Xu Mumu, who just had breakfast, was already thinking of lunch.
"Your fourth aunt planted these, her family got the seeds. We can pick some for lunch; this thing grows fast." Madam Chen said, smiling. Even though she’s only been back for a few days, she has pretty much understood everything about the second and fourth houses.
"Grandma, you’re so nice." Xu Mumu said happily.
"What’s the big deal? It’s just a couple of vegetables. Quickly, take Fengfeng inside; the sun is strong, and this area smells." Madam Chen said with a smile. She was wearing a straw hat; there weren’t many vegetables left to water, and she would be done soon.
Xu Mumu nodded, held her little brother and brought him inside. The little guy’s skin was as tender as tofu; she would definitely be distressed if he got sunburned.
The room was scented with bitter sandalwood leaves, and there weren’t any mosquitoes or insects in the hallway, though the smell wasn’t very pleasant.
Xu Mumu took the little guy to see the rabbits. The rabbits in that room were looked after carefully by her fourth uncle and Xu Jiaojiao; they had set up three cages, all containing several rabbits. Though a bit crowded, they were very clean, so the rabbits were healthy.
Xu Mingfeng also played here several times and knew the rabbits well. If he could reach into the cages, he would definitely have grabbed a couple of rabbits to play with.
"Sis, sis." The little guy wanted to reach in, having seen the fourth uncle open the cage and grab rabbits by their ears; he wanted to try it too.
Pity he wasn’t tall enough to reach into the cage.
"The little rabbits are cute, aren’t they? When you grow up, you can eat rabbit, with that spicy taste you love." Xu Mumu said, smiling. She guessed the little guy’s intent, but the rabbits would be troublesome to catch if let out: better leave them be.
The little guy didn’t understand, just wanting to catch rabbits and tug at the cage door. Fortunately, Xu Mumu stopped him in time, or the rabbits might have run out.
"Don’t open it, let’s go out and play, shall we? How about playing on the little rocking horse grandpa made for you?" Xu Mumu said helplessly. This little guy wanted to grab everything, quite a headache.
Taking the little guy outside, with the rain from the past days, Old Xu couldn’t stay idle and crafted quite a few wooden toys, with the rocking horse being the little guy’s favorite.
The little guy had a strong impression of the word rocking horse and stopped fussing about catching rabbits, which relieved Xu Mumu. Luckily, her little guy wasn’t that persistent.
At noon, Yin Yang returned to the provincial city with a big backpack. The door to Xu Mumu’s house was closed, and there wasn’t a single person inside, which puzzled Yin Yang for a moment.
He carried his things to his room and grabbed some food to fill his stomach.
It was noon, yet there was still no one from the Old Xu Family, which made Yin Yang a bit puzzled. But he was very tired, so he went to boil water and took a shower. The family would surely return by night, then he’d go over to ask. He’d sleep first; sleeping on the train was really uncomfortable.
By evening, the Old Xu Family finally returned. Hearing the door open, Yin Yang put down his book, opened his door, and went next door. His room had been cleaned spotlessly, surely Madam Xu had tidied it.
"Uncle, aunt, you’re back." Seeing Li Caixia and the others finally returned, Yin Yang’s eyes lit up; had they not returned, he would have thought they moved away.
"Little Yang is back, come over." Li Caixia was thrilled to see Yin Yang and pulled him into the room for a good look over him. "Why have you lost so much weight? Haven’t you been eating enough lately?"
"I’ve been a bit busy during the holiday, but I’ve eaten enough." Yin Yang replied gently. His mother passed away early, and no one had shown such care for him before. It felt quite novel.
"Come in quickly, just in time your uncle brought a pig’s trotter home; I’ll cook it for you tonight." Li Caixia said, smiling though her cooking skills weren’t particularly good, pig meat always tasted good enough, and cooking a pig’s trotter wasn’t difficult for her. She was quite confident. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Thank you, aunt." Yin Yang nodded with a smile. He knew Li Caixia’s cooking, but as Xu Mumu’s mother, he felt he should be supportive.
"It’s nothing." Li Caixia, looking at the obedient Yin Yang, felt increasingly satisfied with the future son-in-law. Not only was he capable, but so well-behaved too. Remembering Xu Minghui, her unfilial son, she felt heartache thinking he hadn’t found a daughter-in-law yet. She’d give him another year; if he didn’t bring one back, she’d break his legs.
