A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners-Chapter 118: Charming Teacher
Lestari clearly had strong instincts.
She seemed to sense Oliver's gaze. She shifted her eyes to his car and appeared to be able to see right through the window.
Oliver gave her a smile, and the woman immediately returned her gaze to her phone.
'She actually doesn't care about me...'
This surprised him a little, but it was probably because her relationship with Edward had become so passionate that she didn't consider other men to be men at all.
"Damn, so many beautiful women..." Alex suddenly said, staring at the hotel entrance where a group of tall, sexy, and beautiful women were walking in.
They were all wearing luxurious gowns with glittering jewelry, drawing all the attention to themselves.
Alex's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets as he watched them.
"Not even in your dreams would they talk to you," Oliver said, straightening his back before getting out of the car.
Alex rolled his eyes at his words, only able to hold back the cries of his heart.
Unfortunately, he felt the same way.
He followed Oliver, looking as if he didn't have the courage to wander around alone at this party.
Even among the students, there was a clear division.
The rich made their own groups and went in first, leaving the students with average finances behind.
With no one he was familiar with, Oliver naturally went straight inside.
He was asked to show his invitation by the security guards. When they saw his invitation, Alex, who was following him, was also allowed to enter directly, so he didn't have to show proof that he was part of the generally invited new students of the University of Manchester.
It seemed that even among the guests, there were different levels of invitations.
Passing through the entrance, Oliver arrived in a spacious and luxurious hall with many tables filled with roasted meats, fruits, and high-quality wine.
Every corner had a mesmerizing view, even for someone who was already beginning to live in luxury.
But perhaps more than a birthday party, this was more like a business networking event.
People were building new relationships in various groups, talking about business and collaborations.
Many of the guests were also officials. Even the mayor and his deputy were present, including members of the city council.
Oliver quickly spotted Edward, who was standing in the center of the hall with a group of the city's top elite.
Beside him was a young-looking blonde man who looked so similar to Edward that Oliver easily concluded he was his father.
The middle-aged man was with a beautiful middle-aged woman who had a rather petite but very charming body in a cream-colored strapless dress.
The two of them were actually the main focus. People were talking to them while they seemed to be introducing Edward to them.
Edward himself seemed busy with his phone, appearing to be typing occasionally, which made Oliver realize that Lestari, who was previously focused on her phone, might be messaging back and forth with Edward.
"Mm..."
Oliver saw the woman who had offered his younger sister a modeling job at her company, Linda Allen.
She looked stunning, wearing a blue halter dress with her hair neatly tied up, making her one of the most eye-catching women there.
However, she was talking to the petite woman who appeared to be Edward's mother, so no man dared to approach her.
She also seemed to be familiar with the petite woman.
However, Oliver couldn't help but feel confused because he didn't see Rebecca.
"Ladies and gentlemen..." A woman's voice suddenly echoed through the hall speakers.
The one speaking was Edward's mother, now holding a small microphone.
All eyes were on her as soon as she spoke.
"Many of you may already know me, but I still have to introduce myself as many of the younger generation are present. My name is Via Allen, the wife of Jimmy Rothschild. First, I want to thank all of you for coming to our invitation," she said in a pleasant, casual tone, showing that she was a friendly and kind-hearted woman.
Oliver was a little surprised to find she had the same last name as Linda.
Considering their familiarity, they seemed to be close family.
"Hahaha, Lady Allen, even if you didn't invite us, we would have snuck in to attend your son's birthday party..." A man who looked very rich chimed in with a laugh, which was agreed upon by others.
Via Allen smiled at the man's words and then continued, "Before the party begins, I just want to tell all of you to enjoy the food that has been provided. There is no need to hold back, eat to your heart's content, this hotel will not run out of food. In addition, to add to the fun, let's enjoy a musical performance from Miya Everly... Lady Everly, please..."
She gestured toward the stage in the hall, which was already complete with musical instruments and musicians.
After that, Miya appeared from behind the stage with a charming smile.
Her appearance immediately drew everyone's attention to her.
Even at a party like this, it was still difficult to find someone more captivating than her.
Her slightly curly reddish-brown hair flowed down, looking perfect with the red off-shoulder gown that reached the middle of her calves.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. As Lady Allen said, there is no need to hold back. Eat the dishes that have been provided, and I will entertain you from here," she said.
Compared to Via Allen, her voice sounded more pleasant.
After a brief speech, she began to sing a relaxing song, changing the atmosphere from being filled with business talk to one of joy.
People who were initially hesitant to eat the provided food began to eat.
"Oliver, let's eat too..." Alex seemed to have forgotten the beautiful women he saw and started to focus on the various foods on the table.
He pulled Oliver to one of the empty tables.
Oliver didn't refuse because he also didn't know where to go.
Here, he had no acquaintances to interact with.
Rebecca was not in sight, and Evylin hadn't arrived yet.
Edward was also busy greeting some important people and hadn't seen him yet.
But, when he did see him, he still came over even though he was in a corner.
"Oliver, you're not with Ivy?" Edward looked surprised to see him with a man instead of his girlfriend.
"She said she doesn't like events like this," Oliver replied.
"I figured as much..." Edward chuckled.
He looked at Alex and then specifically got acquainted with him because he was Oliver's friend.
Both of them were the type who easily interacted with others, so it wasn't difficult for them to get along.
Edward even sat at their table, which made people curious about them.
"By the way, Lestari is outside," Oliver said.
"Who is Lestari?" Alex couldn't help but ask upon hearing the unfamiliar name.
However, Oliver didn't answer; he just smiled at Edward.
"I know, she doesn't want to come in yet," Edward replied with a wry smile, glancing at the entrance.
Right after he said that, the entrance became quite a scene.
This was because of a woman in her 30s with purple-black hair neatly tied up in a bun.
She was wearing a long white gown along with a glittering black star-shaped diamond necklace, followed by an indifferent-looking maid.
Everyone unconsciously stepped back when she passed.
She had a cold gaze, but even with just her look, she made others not dare to disrespect her.
Even with a cold expression, her beauty still captivated everyone.
Oliver blinked repeatedly, a little disbelieving when he saw that the woman was his teacher, Evylin.
She had finally used a feminine style, and it was incredible on her sharp face.
She was like a different woman from the one he knew.
Her maid, Lisa, placed a large gift box on the gift table before following her to the center of the hall.
Of course, Evylin saw Oliver and Edward, but she didn't approach them.
She went toward the middle-aged man who resembled Edward, Jimmy Rothschild, who should be her uncle.
"Will she be like this when she wears a gown?" Oliver asked Edward.
"Yeah, her charm has no equal," Edward replied. "But even I don't necessarily get to see her like this in a year."
Oliver chuckled at that.
"By the way, where is Rebecca? Why haven't I seen her?" Oliver asked.
This afternoon, his manifestation parted ways with Rebecca because the latter wanted to level up to the maximum in Chaotic World, so he couldn't ask her directly.
"I don't know, I haven't seen her either. Maybe she's busy with her own business. In the end, she's not a British citizen, so she probably doesn't feel the need for this party," Edward replied.
"Oliver, who is Rebecca?" Alex couldn't help but ask again because Oliver was asking about another woman.
He already understood that Lestari was a woman who might be close to Edward, but what about Rebecca?
From the way Oliver spoke, why did she seem special?
"Don't ask," Oliver replied.
"Ohhh, playing secrets now, but don't think I can't guess," Alex said with a strange smile.
"Hahaha..." Edward laughed.
