A Cutie Spoiled by Her Seven Uncles-Chapter 51: Making a Casual Wish
Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Making a Casual Wish
Zhu Xiuxiu walked back, her back to Yanyan, and had been silent the whole way. However, when she heard Yanyan’s comment, she finally interjected, "Your Yanchen will certainly come through this safely, but whether that’s because of Li Yanyan, we can’t say."
The two quickly returned to the Ji Family manor.
Not long after, Ji Youzhi returned carrying Xiaosuisui. They had rushed back; he had used his light-foot martial arts skills on the journey.
Feeling Uncle Seven WHOOSH up a tree and then WHOOSH down from it, Xiaosuisui clapped her tiny hands in amusement, like a cheerful little bird.
"Uncle Seven’s so awesome! Feifei!"
"Does Xiaosuisui like Feifei? Then how about Uncle Seven takes you for Feifei every day?"
"Yes! Yes! Suisui likes Feifei! Suisui wants Uncle Seven to take her for Feifei every day!"
The little girl didn’t realize that this grand wish would lead her to spend most of her life accompanying Uncle Seven on the path of investigating cases...
"Old Seven!"
Before they could enter the hall, Zhu Xiuxiu stopped them. Seeing Xiaosuisui being carried by Ji Youzhi, she frowned and asked, "Why did you take Suisui out?"
"Suisui wanted to go, so I brought her."
"When you took her, nothing bad happened, right?"
Ji Youzhi shook his head, "No!"
Actually, something had happened: the Zhou Family’s lock had opened on its own, and the little girl had made a random wish. However, Ji Youzhi knew nothing of these things.
"That’s good. Did you find anything when you went to Wu Yixiu’s house?"
Zhu Xiuxiu took Xiaosuisui from Ji Youzhi’s arms, cradling her and gently stroking her slightly flushed cheek.
"Next time you take Suisui out, make sure she wears a face scarf."
That was something Huo Xing’Er had said last night; Suisui’s face should not be seen by strangers.
Ji Youzhi replied, "Okay." Many young ladies in the Capital City covered their faces with veils when they went out.
Even though the little girl hadn’t grown up in the Capital City, she was still a young lady of privilege.
He then began discussing the case.
"I’ve visited the Zhou Family and made some discoveries. Before returning, I already assigned constables from the Prefect’s Government Office and the County Yamen to make inquiries quietly. They will inform me immediately if they find any clues about the red string."
As he spoke, Ji Youzhi walked into the house and into the main hall, where he saw the exhausted Wu Yixiu.
The woman was trembling, her face etched with worry and nervousness.
Seeing this unfamiliar woman, Ji Youzhi paused slightly.
"Let me introduce you," Zhu Xiuxiu said, still cradling Xiaosuisui in her arms, unwilling to put her down even after entering the room. "This is Madam Zhou, Zhou Yanchen’s mother. I thought you might want to ask about some details of the case when you returned, so I brought her directly to our home."
Upon seeing Ji Youzhi, Wu Yixiu immediately asked, "Lord God Hunter, do you have any news of my Yanchen? Can he be found?" She was clearly placing all her hope on his status as a Divine Hunter.
"Madam Zhou, please calm down. I have inspected your house, and there are some clues I need to ask you about. Additionally, I’ve already dispatched constables from the Prefect’s Government Office and the County Yamen to conduct inquiries in the nearby villages. They will inform me immediately if there’s any news."
Ji Youzhi had handled numerous cases and interacted with many people related to them, so he knew how to communicate with them effectively.
"Really! Then I’m relying on you, Lord God Hunter!"
"You’re too kind. Please, sit down first. I need to ask you a few questions."
Ji Youzhi and Wu Yixiu discussed the case.
Xiaosuisui let out a casual yawn.
Seeing this, Zhu Xiuxiu quickly said, "Suisui’s tired. I’ll take her to bed now. You two continue talking!"
