Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Additional update requesting for votes
The door opened quickly, and a man in black walked in.
"You’re back. Where did you go?"
Huo Xing’Er looked at Ji Youzhi, who was panting heavily.
"What’s wrong with you?"
"Why do you look so frightened?"
Ji Youzhi grabbed the water jug from the table and GULP GULP, downed a whole jug of cold water.
Huo Xing’Er cautiously glanced down the hallway, then out the window. Only after confirming no one was around did she speak.
"Did you find out where those children are being kept?"
"Phew... Second Sister-in-law, when will Eldest Brother and the others arrive? Something terrible has happened!"
The words "something terrible has happened" made Huo Xing’Er’s heart skip a beat.
"What happened? Is it serious?"
Ji Youzhi was a Divine Hunter, and as far as she knew, he had handled numerous significant cases over the years.
An experienced Lord Divine Hunter wouldn’t be scared out of his wits like this.
It seemed the matter was indeed gravely serious.
"It’s very serious. The Great Wizard of Nanjiang is coming to the Great Han in the next few days."
"They are planning to set up some kind of altar."
"They also said that the child with great fortune will be the main sacrifice."
After Ji Youzhi said this, his body went limp, and he collapsed into his chair.
"Main sacrifice? What are those Wizards planning to do?"
Huo Xing’Er murmured to herself, her mind racing as if a spark had ignited, a fleeting thought flashing by.
"I just can’t figure out what they’re planning to do! Now, we can only wait for Eldest Brother. He should know something."
Huo Xing’Er nodded.
"I’m not sure about this. Let’s discuss it when Eldest Brother arrives."
Ji Youzhi nodded and then went back to his room.
Huo Xing’Er sat anxiously on the meditation cushion, glanced at the sleeping Xiaosuisui, took a deep breath, and retrieved a small mirror from her belongings.
This mirror was no ordinary object; it was a magical artifact used for the Tian Yan Calculation Technique.
It was used to calculate auspicious days for key events.
For Huo Xing’Er, these auspicious days weren’t merely important dates for ceremonies.
They were days that determined the nation’s fate, the propitious days of the Celestial Dao.
Calculating such days was impossible without supreme Power and a talent for communicating with the heavens.
Huo Xing’Er was a descendant of Tian Yan Calculation practitioners.
A hidden gem from the lineage of the National Master.
Her Power was already comparable to that of the National Master.
Yet, this was the first time she had taken out this Tian Yan Calculation Mirror.
Looking at the small mirror in her hand, Huo Xing’Er sighed.
She hadn’t wanted to walk this path, but she had become entangled in this karma nonetheless.
Huo Xing’Er closed her eyes, raised her hand, formed a series of hand seals, and began to communicate with the heavens.
Xiaosuisui, who had been dreaming, suddenly opened her eyes. She looked around in a daze and then saw the small mirror in her Second Aunt’s hand.
The small mirror was petite and glowed with a golden light. The more she looked at it, the more she liked it.
The little girl rolled over in bed, grinning, watching her Second Aunt continuously forming hand seals towards the small mirror. It looked very amusing to her.
Xiaosuisui scampered over and sat cross-legged next to Huo Xing’Er.
She mimicked her Second Aunt’s hand movements, flicking a hand seal of her own straight at her Second Aunt’s small mirror.
HUM! The small mirror flared with a brilliant golden light, and unfamiliar symbols appeared on its surface.
Huo Xing’Er was stunned. She stared at the mirror incredulously. Is my Power this potent? Am I actually capable of communicating with heaven and earth?
She blinked hard, her gaze fixed on the symbols appearing on the mirror’s surface.
"Oh, three days from now will be a day of great heavenly fortune!"
A familiar, childish voice sounded beside her ear.
Huo Xing’Er’s mind went blank, and an involuntary shiver ran through her. It couldn’t be what I’m thinking, could it?
"When... when did you wake up?"
Without lifting her head, Xiaosuisui looked at the mirror in Huo Xing’Er’s hand and said,
"Just when Second Aunt was waving her hands at the little mirror."
Huo Xing’Er couldn’t stop her lips from twitching. A stream of curses flew through her mind. Damn it! The supreme Tian Yan hand seals I performed are just ’waving hands’ in your eyes?!
"Xiaosuisui, tell Second Aunt, what exactly did you do just now?"
Hearing this, Xiaosuisui blinked and guiltily touched her small head.
