Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Little Bun is Angry

When Bei Ran left the hospital, her face still bore a faint smile, despite the entire hospital being unaware that she was the wife of the celebrated Gu Qingchen.

She hailed a taxi and watched as the night closed in over City A, the neon lights and billboards a dazzling blur to the eye.

"To the Star Kindergarten," she said as she settled into the back seat, glancing at her watch— it was already half-past six.

Star Kindergarten.

By the time Bei Ran arrived, Bei Xiaoyu looked like she could hang an oil bottle on her pouted mouth, her round face full of huffy expressions, yet she hugged Bei Ran fiercely!

"If you had come any later, I wouldn't let you pick me up tomorrow!" Bei Xiaoyu's voice was sharp and thin.

Bei Ran chuckled, "Hey, call me sister! Don't be disrespectful, I was late because I got hurt!"

Bei Xiaoyu had been angry, but as soon as she heard that Bei Ran was injured, she immediately became concerned and said, "Where are you hurt? Let me see!"

"My chest!" Bei Ran didn't hide it from her, "I went job hunting today and ended up getting splashed with sulfuric acid."

Bei Xiaoyu pointed at her chest, "Was it Gu Qingchen who treated your wounds?"

"So what if it was! I've signed the divorce papers last night, and I'll move out to live with you in a few days!" Bei Ran took her little hand; Bei Xiaoyu was now five years old and was in the middle class of kindergarten.

Sometimes, Bei Ran felt that time flew by so quickly, in the blink of an eye, four years...

Watching Bei Xiaoyu grow up day by day, she felt a sense of green hope stretching indefinitely.

Like an adult, Bei Xiaoyu asked, "Are you really getting a divorce?"

"Of course." Bei Ran knew that Gu Qingchen was a man of his word; once he said something, he would never take it back.

"But..." Bei Xiaoyu wanted to say something more, but Bei Ran took her hand, "After the divorce, the three of us can always be together, don't you want that? Or does my little fish want to stay with brother Zong Zheng instead? Come on! Let's go home, Bei Dayu might have already made dinner! Let me guess what Bei Dayu has cooked..."

It had been so long since she'd seen brother Zong Zheng, hadn't it? Bei Xiaoyu was indignant: changing the subject!

Bei Ran waved down another taxi, while Bei Xiaoyu pulled at her, "Our house is so close, let's just walk!"

"No worries, I got compensated for a work injury today!" Bei Ran gently touched her head and smiled, "Sigh, I can save money, but you don't need to be thrifty!"

They got into the taxi together and soon reached their home.

Their home was in a commercial area close to Star Kindergarten, and thanks to old-house relocation compensation from the developers, Bei Ran managed to buy a small 60 square meter flat there, with two rooms and a living room. And though she took out a mortgage for thirty years with a monthly payment of three thousand, it was an expense she could afford.

"Ding-dong— Ding-dong—"

When the door opened, there stood a little boy with a lovely face, wrapped in an apron and holding a spatula, making a gentlemanly gesture: "Welcome home, beauty Ranran! Oh, is the little bun upset?"
