Chapter 168

The next day, after the museum opened, the group discovered that the previously blank ancient book now somehow had words in it.

"I really want to take it out and see what's written in this book," Xia Miaomiao said curiously.

Xiao Han yawned and said, "We'd better not look at this thing. What if we get transported again?"

"Let's get out of here quickly."

Su Mo tidied up her belongings and handed the medical book to Xiao Han, "Xiao Han, here's your medical book in case I forget to give it to you later."

"Thanks," Xiao Han took the book and they left the museum.

It was July, the peak of summer vacation, and the blazing sun beat down outside without a wisp of wind.

"Ah! It's still so hot!"

The group instinctively shielded their eyes, looking at the modern world of high-rises and busy traffic, feeling as if they had awakened from a dream.

They suddenly understood a little why Sang Lian had wanted to conceive Wu Ying's child.

Returning to this world meant that over time, those memories might slowly fade away, possibly becoming just a dream.

But coming back also meant they would have to part ways, as each still had her own life to lead.

"We...might have to separate here."

They looked at each other knowingly and embraced.

"Call if anything comes up."

"Yeah, Sister Lian, you're pregnant now so you must rest well."

"That's right, your fetus is unstable, you need to take good care."

"Mm, I know, you all take care too."

"Why are you acting like you'll never see each other again? With transportation so convenient nowadays, we can meet any time."

They laughed and went their separate ways.

...

Su Mo had just returned to the villa when she heard Su An scolding Su Jin.

"Good job, you siblings are quite accomplished at staying out all night now! Phones turned off, have you no regard for your father?!"

Su An sat fuming on the sofa while Su Jin cowered before him like a dog being disciplined, head lowered without moving a muscle.

"You're both such headaches! How can I expect you to inherit the company in the future?!"

"Sis is the one inheriting the company...I'm only a sophomore..." Su Jin mumbled.

"You dare talk back?! Su Jin, who's money do you think you're spending?!"

Su Jin immediately shut his mouth!

Hearing Su An's words, Su Mo paused at the door. If she went in now, it would just add fuel to the fire...

One person taking the brunt was bad enough, she couldn't drag herself into it!

Su Mo looked up and saw her room window open on the second floor.

She walked under the window and judged the height. With the lightness skill Wu Ying had taught her, it should be easy to get up.

No harm trying...

Su Mo took a few steps back, pushed off with her toes, and flew straight through the window. As she clung to the ledge, a shrill cry came from below.

"Young miss, how can you climb through windows? It's too dangerous! Young miss!"

Damn...

Su Mo looked back to see Su An and Su Jin emerge.

"Su Mo, what are you doing?! Get down here!" Su An yelled anxiously as he ran over, telling the maid, "Quick, get a mat!"

"Hehe, Dad, no need..."

Su Mo decided she was already unlucky so simply jumped down from the window.

Su An's jaw dropped in fright but Su Mo landed steadily, without incident.

Even Su Jin gaped in surprise. He knew his sister could fight but when did she get so good?

"You...you...worrying me to death!" Though concerned, Su An was still angry, "Just come in normally, why climb through windows?!"

"You were yelling at Su Jin...I was worried going in would stir things up more..." Su Mo argued.

"You two...nothing but headaches! Look at you, what kind of girl acts like this? Who would dare marry you in the future?"

"Plenty chase me..." Su Mo mumbled.

Su Jin snickered behind them.

"You still dare laugh?!" Su An whirled and bellowed at Su Jin.

Su Jin swiftly wiped the smile off his face and stood at attention.

Seeing the siblings, Su An could only sigh helplessly and go back inside.

Out of sight, out of mind!

With his father gone, Su Jin bounded up and grabbed Su Mo's arm excitedly, "Sis, so awesome just now! How'd you do it? Jumping from so high up like it was nothing?!"

Su Mo just smiled, "Piece of cake!"

A memory flashed of Wu Ying teaching her lightness skills and she wiped the smile from her face, "I'm going back to my room."

"Sis!" Su Jin followed her in.

When Su Mo came out of the bathroom after a shower, she was shocked to find Su Jin ransacking the belongings she'd brought back, the painting spread out on her desk.

"Su Jin, what are you messing with my stuff for?!" Su Mo hurried over to take away the painting.

"Sis, where'd you get this painting? Isn't it super old-fashioned? That's you in ancient costume, isn't it? Why're you dressed like that?" Su Jin bombarded her with questions.

"None of your business, get out!" Su Mo pointed at the door.

"Sis..." Su Jin sidled up, "Who's Bai Yi Chen? Bai Yi Chen zhi qi, that your title? Wife of Bai Yi Chen?"

"So many nonsense questions! I told you to get out!" Su Mo tried pushing him but Su Jin plopped stubbornly onto the bed.

"Not leaving until you explain clearly! You've got a boyfriend you didn't tell me about?!"

"Yes, alright?! Now get out, I need to change!"

Su Jin still had more questions but Su Mo unceremoniously threw him out and slammed the door!

"Something's up!" Su Jin muttered to himself, "Never seen Sis that close with any guy...she just likes looking at hunks..."

"Bai Yi Chen? Who is he?"

Inside, Su Mo looked again at the "Bai Yi Chen zhi qi" inscription, heart stirring painfully.

She picked up her charged phone and turned it on.

Going to her photo album, Su Mo swiped through the images, truly feeling those events had happened!

The first picture was their group shot in Lianhua Village. She forwarded it to their fairy chat and changed the group name to "Four Beauties Pavilion".

Continuing through, Su Mo came across her photos with Wu Ying and her eyes reddened.

One was taken in Chu City, Wu Ying had insisted on it, even holding up a victory sign.

Su Mo's finger traced his face as she gave a teary smile, "So silly..."

The flood of memories rushed in and she quickly closed the album, lying down on the bed.

...

That night, Su Jin had asked Su Mo to join him clubbing but she didn't go.

She used to love ogling hunks at bars but now she had no desire.

It was very late and Su Jin still wasn't back when Su Mo received a call past midnight from his friend.

"Sister Su Mo, it's me, Lu ZhiXing. Su Jin got into trouble, he got into a fight with someone at the bar!"

Su Mo immediately sat up in bed, "Which bar are you guys at?"

"YeXing Bar."

Su Mo hung up the phone, changed her clothes quietly, and slipped out the door.

YeXing Bar.

Glittering lights, boisterous crowds.

Just then, a group of guys crowded together on the other side, seemed something was going down.

In the corner booth, a few men in plainclothes sat, pretending to drink.

"Looks like a fight broke out over there, should we go break it up?" a slightly younger man said.

"Don't jump the gun, our target today is Ma Zhi. We have to catch him today no matter what!"

"Is Captain Bai coming today then?"

"He went after someone else. He should be here later tonight." The man took a sip of his drink, and saw a man in a baseball cap get a drink at the bar.

"Ma Zhi is here, everyone keep an eye on him, be ready to make a move."
