Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Leave the Child, You Go

Jasper Ford felt that these two were trying to steal someone from him.

’And they were fighting over that shameless, promiscuous Vivian Quincy!’

As her uncle, Jasper Ford felt it was his duty to teach his nephew a lesson and make him understand that there are certain types of women in this world you just don’t touch!

"Get out." An overwhelming, murderous aura erupted from the domineering man.

Hayden Kaye hadn’t achieved his goal, so why would he be willing to leave?

"Ninth Uncle, I just don’t understand why you’re so set on stopping us from being together. You were clearly the one who encouraged me to pursue true love in the first place."

Jasper Ford said, "Vivian Quincy is not your true love. Anyone else is fine, but not her."

"Why?" Hayden Kaye demanded.

Jasper Ford: "Because this is my command."

Because Jasper Ford didn’t want Hayden Kaye involved with Vivian Quincy, it was forbidden!

As long as Jasper Ford disagreed, it didn’t matter how much Hayden Kaye liked her; there was nothing he could do!

Hayden Kaye felt deeply wronged. He couldn’t understand why the Ninth Uncle who had always encouraged him to pursue true love would suddenly turn into this.

"Ninth Uncle, I won’t give up," Hayden Kaye said with great determination.

Jasper Ford chuckled, a faint, playful smirk appearing on his lips. "Suit yourself. Starting tomorrow, for every day you come to the company, I’ll dock a day’s pay from Vivian Quincy’s salary. You’re free to come as you please. I won’t object."

Hayden Kaye’s expression changed drastically. "Ninth Uncle, how could you do this!"

"My turf, my rules." The man was brazen, not thinking there was anything wrong with his actions. He even added, "If you feel so bad for Vivian Quincy, you can just give her money. After all, your company makes a decent profit each month. Supporting her shouldn’t be a problem."

That was true, but Hayden Kaye knew Vivian Quincy’s personality very well.

She would absolutely never accept his money. Helping her pay off her debt before had been a last resort. If Jasper Ford really went this far, Vivian Quincy would definitely stop seeing him.

And he couldn’t bear to watch Vivian Quincy work hard all day long, only to not receive a single cent of her salary in the end.

’Ninth Uncle, you’re so cruel!’

Hayden Kaye was so angry at Jasper Ford he could have cried. He felt incredibly wronged!

Jasper Ford nonchalantly fiddled with the watch on his wrist and said, "I’m giving you five minutes. If you’re still in the company in five minutes, I’ll dock one day’s pay from Vivian Quincy’s salary."

"Ninth Uncle!"

Jasper Ford: "Four minutes and fifty seconds left."

Hayden Kaye was choked up, unable to say a word. He walked over to Beanie and took his hand, preparing to lead him out.

Jasper Ford raised an eyebrow. "The child stays. You leave."

Beanie???

Hayden Kaye???

’This is Vivian Quincy’s child, not his!’

Hayden Kaye couldn’t help but explain, "Ninth Uncle, it’s not good for the child to be here with you. I’ll take him home."

"Whether it’s appropriate or not isn’t for you to decide. The child stays," Jasper Ford cut Hayden Kaye off domineeringly, his attitude extremely firm!

Hayden Kaye was unwilling to let go, keeping a tight grip on Beanie’s small wrist.

Jasper Ford called Caden Chandler over and told him to see their guest out.

Although Caden Chandler didn’t know what had happened, he could tell from the tense, hostile atmosphere that something had gone down. He didn’t dare ask any questions and quickly escorted Hayden Kaye out.

Hayden was still holding onto Beanie, worried about leaving him there. He asked Beanie if he wanted to go home with him, but Beanie was still waiting for Vivian Quincy to get off work, so he refused. In the end, Hayden Kaye was "escorted" out by Caden Chandler.

The vast office was freezing cold. Perhaps the air conditioning was turned up too high.

Beanie shrank back, instinctively pulling the air-conditioning blanket tighter around himself. "Ford, why are you looking at me with such a scary expression?"

Jasper Ford walked over to Beanie. His long, fair hand pinched the boy’s small chin. "Say what you just said again."

"Say what?" Beanie blinked, confused.

Jasper Ford said, "What you said about your mommy leaving Imperium Group. What makes you think she’ll definitely leave?"

"Oh, so that’s what you meant, Ford." Beanie said after his moment of realization. "The salary you give isn’t high, and you’re always docking Mommy’s wages and bonuses. She works so hard, but at the end of the month, she doesn’t make much money. She can’t even support herself. So isn’t it normal for her to leave?"

"I don’t dock her pay every month," Jasper Ford explained. The only reason he did it this month was because that wretched woman, Vivian Quincy, was too disobedient. She actually thought she couldn’t make much money with him!

How could Jasper Ford tolerate that!

That was why he had "educated" Vivian Quincy in such a manner.

But Beanie said, "With domestic abuse, there’s no ’one time.’ There’s only ’zero times’ and ’countless times’."

The man’s expression stiffened. "What does this have to do with domestic violence?"

Beanie lifted his small face. "You don’t even know this, Ford? My mommy works for you, so in a way, she belongs to you. You docked her pay once, so you’ll do it a second time. From now on, she’ll be working for you every day in fear of her wages being docked. Do you think that’s a good thing?"

After a pause, the little guy continued, "Instead of living a precarious life here with you, wouldn’t it be better for her to find a stable position at another company? Isn’t that a better choice?"

Although he was young, every word he said was reasonable. Each sentence struck deep into Jasper Ford’s heart.

’If it were me, I wouldn’t want to work in such a nerve-wracking position either.’

Beanie said, "Your silence must mean you agree with me, Ford. Actually, it’s not that Mommy is dead set on leaving. It’s just that there’s no point for her to stay in Crestfall anymore. Plus, a lot of people here don’t like Mommy and me. To be honest, I don’t want to live in Crestfall anymore either."

He still preferred their old home and wanted his mommy to go back to her old company. Everyone there was especially kind. There was none of the scheming and backstabbing of the big city, nor the sarcastic taunts of bad women.

He had only come to find his daddy.

Now that he had found his daddy, it turned out he was a villainous scoundrel who wouldn’t even acknowledge him. Beanie felt there was no longer any reason to stay.

As Beanie spoke, it seemed he had made a great resolution. He really had no intention of staying.

For some reason, Jasper Ford felt a flicker of panic. He was even deeply unsettled.

He didn’t want Beanie to leave.

The man was silent for a long while before asking very seriously, "Why don’t you want to be in Crestfall? There are many good people in Crestfall, too."

"What you say is right, Ford, but it’s meaningless now," Beanie said. "Actually, I came to Crestfall to find my daddy. I lied to you before. I’ve found my daddy now, but he doesn’t want me, and his wife even called me a bastard. I’m very unhappy about it."

As he said this, Beanie lowered his head, his usually crystal-clear eyes filled with sadness.

His voice was heartbreaking to hear.

Jasper Ford swept the little guy up and placed him on his lap. He cupped the boy’s chin to lift his face, looking seriously into his tear-filled eyes. Only then did he understand why Beanie had called him in the middle of the night and cried secretly.

He was just a child who didn’t understand anything yet, already suffering discrimination and personal attacks before he even had a chance to enter society.

Jasper Ford remembered how, back in kindergarten, Beanie had been... by the other children...

His heart clenched painfully. He hugged the tiny little ball of a boy tightly and said in a low voice, "If you don’t mind, how about you let your uncle take care of you from now on?"
