Chapter 66: Chapter 66: The President’s Loving Breakfast

Vivian Quincy nearly choked to death on her first bite of food!

Her fair hand clenched the sticky note. She shot a look toward the CEO’s office. ’Did he write this? What does it mean?’

Vivian, who had been full of joy just a moment ago, suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. She couldn’t help but picture Jasper Ford’s expression as he wrote that sentence. A cold sensation crept up from the soles of her feet, and her scalp tingled. Suddenly, she couldn’t eat anymore!

Holding her chopsticks, she stared intently at the heart-themed breakfast in the box. She felt like finishing this meal would shorten her lifespan by ten years.

Vivian Quincy was scared to death, but she was also starving. Despite her fear, she forced herself to eat, her expression more complex than if she’d just swallowed a fly.

A colleague sitting in front of Vivian couldn’t help but ask, "Does it not taste good?"

Vivian wanted to cry but had no tears. ’It’s not that it doesn’t taste good. It’s that I don’t dare to eat it, okay?’

After a few bites, she found it was actually quite delicious. Vivian pushed her documents aside and started eating in earnest. A lot of care had gone into this "breakfast of love." Not only were the eggs heart-shaped, but even the vegetables were trimmed into heart-shaped columns. Every bite was filled with "love."

Vivian felt a nauseating chill run through her. After a few more bites, she didn’t dare to continue. The heart-themed breakfast and that note were just too terrifying. She was scared!

"Assistant Quincy, the CEO has a meeting in ten minutes. Please prepare for it," the head secretary suddenly walked over to remind her.

Vivian Quincy quickly put the lid on the food container. After tidying up, she took the documents Jasper Ford needed and went into the conference room. The meeting was relatively peaceful. As Vivian took notes, she snuck a glance at Jasper, only to be surprised to find him looking at her too.

The man’s long, slender fingers held a black fountain pen. His cold, handsome face showed no emotion. It was just a glance, but it inexplicably made it hard for Vivian to breathe. She nervously bit her lip, remaining silent. She stood for half an hour, taking notes for half an hour, until her hand ached too much to lift and her legs were sore.

Jasper Ford glanced thoughtfully at Vivian Quincy’s slightly trembling legs and said, "Find a stool and sit down."

His calm words silenced the entire conference room.

The vice president, who had been giving his presentation, stopped. He thought Jasper was being considerate, worried he was tired from standing while speaking. He was suddenly moved beyond words and, without a second thought, pulled over a stool to sit down. Vivian also thought Jasper was speaking to the VP, so she stood rooted to the spot, not daring to move.

Jasper Ford’s handsome face darkened. He snapped, "Vivian Quincy, did you not hear me?"

His angry shout made everyone’s face change.

Only then did they realize the CEO’s words had been directed at Vivian Quincy. For a moment, everyone had a different expression. The vice president, who had already pulled over the stool, suddenly found himself in an impossible situation. He couldn’t sit, but he couldn’t not sit either. To avoid embarrassment, the VP smiled at Vivian and said, "Assistant Quincy, come and take my chair."

Stared at by everyone, Vivian Quincy’s cheeks turned impossibly red. She gripped her pen tightly. The gazes from all the superiors present were simply too intense. With no other choice, Vivian obediently walked over, said a "Thank you," and moved the chair, sitting behind everyone else to take notes.

Jasper Ford: "Continue."

The vice president cleared his throat and continued with the next project.

Vivian Quincy noted everything down. She barely made it to the end of the meeting, but she still had to go back and compile her notes and report. She worked all morning and still wasn’t done. At noon, a call from Hayden Kaye ruined her mood.

He was downstairs, but the security guards wouldn’t let him in, so he asked Vivian to come down.

Vivian Quincy rejected him outright. "Don’t come looking for me anymore."

"That’s impossible. Hurry up and come down, or I’ll force my way in to find you." Hayden Kaye absolutely refused to leave.

Vivian Quincy hung up on him directly.

Hayden called her several more times in a row, so Vivian finally just turned off her phone.

During her lunch break, she was so tired she planned to rest a bit before eating. Who knew that Hayden Kaye would actually manage to get in, showing up just like before with a bouquet of flowers and two bags full of food for Vivian Quincy.

The flowers were for Vivian, but the food was all for Jasper Ford. His goal was clear: to get Jasper to let Vivian go out for lunch with him!

At that moment, Jasper Ford, who was lounging lazily in his chair, slowly opened his tired eyes. He called Vivian over and asked, "You want to request time off to go out for lunch?"

It was a calm question, but it scared Vivian so much she trembled all over. She knew Jasper must be angry!

Vivian Quincy frantically shook her head. "I don’t."

"Vivian, don’t be afraid. It’s fine. My Ninth Uncle is very reasonable. Just tell him you want to go out for lunch with me, and he’ll definitely approve," Hayden Kaye said earnestly.

The man’s sharp gaze locked onto Vivian Quincy.

In an instant, the pressure was suffocating.

Vivian felt her scalp tingle slightly. She wasn’t an idiot. Jasper Ford’s warning from last night was still fresh in her mind. To save her own skin, Vivian proactively distanced herself from Hayden. "Who wants to go out with you? Stop being so conceited, okay? I’m eating at the company for lunch. And don’t buy me flowers anymore. I don’t like them."

"Vivian, but don’t you love the flowers I give you the most?" Hayden sounded a little hurt.

Vivian denied it without hesitation. "I do not."

"But..."

"Enough." Jasper Ford cut them off sharply, his magnetic voice full of power. "Get out."

"Okay." Vivian Quincy scurried away.

Hayden said angrily, "Ninth Uncle, Vivian is a girl! How can you talk to a girl like that?"

Jasper Ford’s eyes lifted, his thin, cold lips parting slightly. "Say that again."

"I... I was wrong..." Hayden lowered his head to apologize, but then felt it was unfair. He quickly said to Jasper, "But Ninth Uncle, Auntie already agreed to let me pursue Vivian Quincy. Why won’t you? Is it just because she was Jeremy King’s woman?"

Jasper Ford’s expression suddenly sank.

Hayden continued, "I already told you, I don’t care. I like her for who she is. As long as she’s willing to come back to me, I don’t care what she’s done in the past. Ninth Uncle, I want to take her out for lunch. My happiness and future are all in your hands."

"Then take her out, if you have what it takes." A dangerous smile played on Jasper Ford’s lips.

Hayden didn’t notice it. He just felt a pleasant surprise, turned, and ran out of the CEO’s office, heading straight for Vivian’s desk. "Vivian, my Ninth Uncle agreed to let you go out with me. Let’s go."

"No way," Vivian said, not believing it.

Hayden said, "My Ninth Uncle never lies. Since he promised me, he definitely won’t go back on his word."

Vivian cast a doubtful, thoughtful glance toward the office. ’The man who choked me, pinned me against a wall, and threatened me last night is suddenly kind enough to let me go out?’

’Definitely not!’

Vivian subconsciously touched her neck and shook her head. "I’m not going. I’m staying to work overtime!"

"Everyone else is on their lunch break. Why are you working overtime?" Hayden was displeased.

Vivian said, "Working overtime makes me happy. I love working overtime."
