A Journey That Changed The World.-Chapter 1259: What Are You Making
Chapter 1259: What Are You Making
Archer noticed the empress's cousin was a slender but curvy woman wearing a maid's outfit which caught his eye, but soon her exotic voice sounded out, "Why would you do that? We joined the Alliance to fight against you."
He shrugged while pulling out some ale before explaining, "I want you to join me in this war. I will heal the land and help you fight the Alliance armies that will try an attack you."
Colestah and Nayeli's eyes widened which made him laugh at their shocked looks as he continued talking, "The Moonriver is dying, your people are starving and the Alliance has taken advantage of you. It's one of the main reasons you joined them in fighting me."
"What do you want in return? The sudden offer of help is strange," the blue-haired elf questioned with a suspicious look in her eyes.
Archer chuckled at her expression as it amused him, but he shook his head before being honest with the elf, "I want your empire to join mine when I finally take Avidia, which should be in a year."
Colestah's eyes bugged out just as her cousin quickly jumped up and rejected the idea.
"Impossible! How you can expect an empress to bend the knee to you? That's unthinkable."
"Because the alternative is letting your realm succumb to the Swarm's curse that's devouring your land by the day," he replied, lowering himself into a seat. "Frankly, I couldn't care less about fighting your armies unless it's claiming your empire for myself."
Archer watched as Colestah and her cousin silently panic but minutes later the beautiful empress looked at him with narrowed, "If I agree to join you, would I still be able to run my empire like I have been doing?" she questioned.
"Yes, but you'll have to pay taxes and have my legions stationed across the empire for security," he answered. "But you get all the benefits of being part of Draconia and you can still be the ruler. I'll just be the one you answer to."'
"So pay you taxes and we'll receive stuff? What are these benefits you speak of?" Colestah questioned with a curious gaze.
Archer turned to Leira, who was sitting nearby, and offered her a charming smile. "Do you mind explaining, gorgeous? I think you'd be better at it?"
The cat woman beamed before immediately began speaking. "Well, our husband here has an endless passion for caring for his people. There are countless government programs he's put in place to support the less fortunate, and there are these buildings called apartment blocks that can house thousands of people comfortably."
When Colestah and Nayeli heard her explanation, they just stared at them with wide eyes causing him to laugh before speaking, "Well you've got some time to consider my offer but to prove my point, I will heal more of your land so you can see the benefit of becoming friends with me."
Following that, Archer stood up while offering his guest something to eat. "Would you too like to stay for lunch? I was going to cook some food for us, as I'm starving."
Leira's ears twitched as her green eyes turned to him with a gleam. "Will it be like the last time? That was delicious," she asked in a hopeful voice.
"Yes," Archer answered with a knowing smirk that made them beam. "I have a few ideas that I think you two will like. There're loads of things I know how to make, it will be a surprise."
The women grew visibly excited as Nefertiti turned to Colestah and Nayeli with a playful grin. "If I were you two," she began with a teasing tone, "I'd try his cooking. He may be a dragon, but he cooks like no one else ever could. I dare say our husband is better than any cook my father hired for our kitchen."
When the Moonriver Empress heard this, she turned to Archer, who met her gaze with a warm smile before admitting, "I love cooking, it relaxes me, and I also enjoy seeing the girls' reactions to my food, especially when it's their first time."'
Colestah returned his smile, nodding graciously with a pretty smile. "That sounds wonderful, and we would love to join you. Thank you for your hospitality."
"Thank you for the food," Nayeli said in a respectful tone.
Afterward, Nefertiti and Leira gently ushered the women into the living room while chatting about random things that he blocked out while he thought about what to cook for the five of them, leaving Archer to head toward the kitchen.
As he stood there, contemplating what to make, a flash of inspiration hit him. With a grin, he decided to make them a pizza, something simple yet comforting, but with his own unique twist.
'I have rare monster meats they've never tasted, along with all the other ingredients needed to make it,' he mused, a smile spreading across his face.
Minutes later, he stepped into the kitchen and turned on the mana lights before going about bringing out all the stuff he needed to make the food. He pulled out some Elvish Flour that he bought in Dragonheeart City back on Draconia and started creating the base of the pizzas.
Archer started shaping the dough with skilled hands as he remembered everything that went into making it. A short while later, he felt it stick to his fingers, which brought back memories of his childhood on Earth when he and Micha used to make pizzas.
As the scenes flashed in his mind, it caused him continued with the base as he smiled while thinking, 'It's strange how I remember everything clearer now than back then. It may be the mana helping my memory.'
Following that, Archer continued kneading the dough before taking out the tomato sauce stuff he discovered many years ago. He used Mana Manipulation to spread it over the base and when the smell hit his nose; it caused his stomach to rumble.
'I better make a few for myself and two for them,' he pondered.
With that decided, Archer started creating more bases before adding the cheese just before he started cutting up the monster meat using his claws to slice through it. Ten minutes later, he had created ten meat, cheese and southern peppers he had in his Item Box for nearly a decade. Once he finished preparing the pizzas, Archer closed his eyes, focusing deeply. 'I love the Item Box. Everything stays fresh," he muttered.
With a wave of his hand, he used Mana Manipulation to construct a massive pizza oven. The sheer power of the magic made the house tremble slightly. Seconds later, Leira rushed into the kitchen with a worried expression but calmed down when seeing everything was alright. He smiled when seeing her reaction before speaking. "Sorry about that. I made an oven to cook our lunch."
The cat woman nodded with a smile. "What are you making?" she asked with a curious sparkle in her eyes.
Archer chuckled before ushering her out of the room, "You'll have to wait beautiful, but I know you'll like it."
Leira nodded and left the kitchen just as Archer received a sudden message from Teuila. Her tone was urgent as her words formed in his mind, 'Arch! The Duskfire, Goldmane, and Darkthrone Empires are launching an attack from the Death Sand Desert. We've blocked the three northern routes and are engaging in skirmishes with them whenever they appear.'
"Oh, they're sneaky," he muttered with gleaming eyes before replying to the Aquarian. 'I will come once I've eaten. I'll bring you and the girls some.'
Teuila responded with a cheerful tone, easing some of the tension as Archer returned to cooking. He carefully slid the prepared pizzas into the oven as the heat rushed out and hit his
face.
The aroma already filled the air and made his stomach rumble causing him to think, "That feels good but now it's time to wait.'
While waiting, he sent an order to Elara, "Take the 25th, 26th, and 27th legions to reinforce Teuila, Sera, and Ashoka. It looks like we'll be fighting in the desert for a while.'
Moments later, the dragonkin woman replied in an excited voice, 'I'll do it before Talila, Sia and
I leave for the east.'
"Thank you Lara,' he replied with a smile.
Afterward, Archer grabbed a tray and five cups, filling them with the orange juice he'd brought back from Earth. The refreshing citrus aroma lingered in the air as he worked.
Twenty minutes later, the pizzas were perfectly baked, their golden crusts and bubbling toppings filling the kitchen with an irresistible scent. Carefully, he pulled them out of the oven, storing all but two in his Item Box for later.
Balancing the tray, he carried the pizzas and drinks into the living room, where the women were deep in conversation, their laughter filling the space with warmth.
