A Life Once More-Chapter 43: As A Group (2)
Chapter 43 - 43: As A Group (2)
I removed my hand from her head and chuckled a bit. The only reason I mentioned her little purchase was because she could've bought the panini she wanted if she hadn't made such a crazy purchase.
Shaking my head, "We can get the panini!"
"Yes!" She fist-bumped the air with glee.
Looking at the two girls, I told them to go find a seat and that I'd order for us. Kate said she wanted something super sweet, which matched her personality a hundred percent. Ophi was getting the same tea from earlier.
The whole process was smooth. No need for added explanations or extra questions; everything was efficient and fast. Until the end, at least.
"Didn't you start in Game of Wars?"
'First it was Elize, and now it's this dude.'
Black lines formed on my face. I didn't mind being recognized, it's just—I didn't know what to do!
I went with the best option I knew.
Nod and smile!
"I thought you looked familiar! Would it be cool for an autograph? But if it's too much, don't worry about it."
'I-It's hard to reject such a nice person.' I nodded again. This dude was so nice, and I didn't want to be a dick for no reason.
He pulled out a card with my mom and me on it. My mom's hair was silver with her red eyes, and my appearance matched, just with my blue eyes instead. We were dressed in fantasy combat clothes—sword and all.
The card was covered in a container to protect it from dust and other elements. I went to sign but realized I didn't have a marker or a pen—and a regular pen wasn't working on this thing.
"Do you have a marker?" I asked.
The dude nodded and handed me one in black. I signed his card with no problem.

Go above and Beyond: A True Fan
End: A slightly truer fan
'Go above and beyond?'
I didn't know how to even do that. I mean, what else was there left to do?
"Thanks! If I can get the woman to sign it now, that would be great, haha~!"
'Oh.' The opportunity presented itself.
"You know, she's my mom."
"R-Really?!"
"Yeah, if you want, I can get her to sign it for you."
"N-If you don't mind!" He became super respectful—a far cry from his casual tone so far.
I laughed a bit, "Yeah, no problem. When do you work next?"
"Wednesday afternoon, 1–9."
"I gotcha then. I'll talk with her about it. I doubt she'll say no, but we shall see."
"Thank you so much!"

I waved him goodbye with a smile and made my way to our table with our food and stuff. That little interaction was the perfect amount of time for our stuff to be finished.
Getting to the table, Ophi and Kate were staring at me with amused eyes.
"Please don't."
Those two shared the same look in their eyes; that mischievous glint was dangerous!
"Oh~, please sign this~!"
"I-It would be my honor. Flicks hair back dramatically!"
"Kate, you did it wrong! Let me show you how it's done. Hah~!" I ran my hand through my hair a bit before flicking it back with exaggerated finesse.
"Bhehehe~ You look stupid!"
"Pfft~, Kate's right, Eiz! Don't ever do that again!" The two just couldn't help making fun of me. It wasn't my fault they didn't understand the excellence that was me.
[Ughh...]
Make that three people who didn't understand my excellence!
I sat down with Kate to my right and Ophi to my left. The table was a circular type, which I was so thankful for. My neck would have been hurting if I had to constantly look left and right. That's just me complaining though; I'd do it if I had to.
"How was class?" Ophi and Kate continued talking while I cut this panini in half. It was harder than you think!
"DON'T REMIND ME! Ughhhh!" She clutched her head like it was the worst thing she could have heard.
"Drama queen."
"Shut it, Ophi! We had to give a presentation of our essay draft! It's only the second week! Like why?!"
Ophi shrugged her shoulders. "Just do better then!"
"I don't want to hear anything from you. You have a whole project due tomorrow, and I remember something... you haven't even started!"
"I work best under pressure."
"..." Kate and Ophi just stared at each other. I could see a spark between the two and auras forming behind them. Kate was like an honest phoenix full of life. Ophi was like an arrogant and prideful dragon.
'With her teasing nature she's more like a fucking succubus or something.' I wasn't familiar with all the fantasy creatures, but Ophi fit more of a succubus in my eyes.
"Here you go, Kate." I handed her half, and the already formed auras vanished. It was also in my mind anyway, so it wasn't like they actually had some mystical powers.
She broke out into a hungry smile and started devouring it. She didn't even notice tomato sauce getting on her cheeks near her lips.
Reaching across, I wiped it off with a finger and ate the sauce. I didn't even get to enjoy my half before two stares bored into me.
"What?"
"Don't 'what' us?!" Ophi seemed baffled.
Cocking my head to the side, I really didn't see the issue.
"You won't kiss her in public, but you'll do that?!"
"What's wrong with what I did?" I looked over at Kate, and she just hid her face with her hands. The pink on her ears gave me all the information I needed.
'All I did was help her...'
[Oh my god, dude.]
Ezryn's voice sounded like he was speechless and enjoying this. There was a certain uplifted tone in it.
I replayed the scene in my head.
. . .
"O-Oh." My face didn't heat up or anything, but Ophi was right. If I could do what I just did, what was different about kissing her?!
