A Low Rank Female Goes Viral Across the Galaxy-Chapter 132: Ask
Typically, bars are incredibly noisy.
But when Jiang Qin sang, there was surprisingly no disruptive noise from the audience of three million people.
Even their excited cheers were instinctively hushed. People talking to their companions controlled their volume, afraid their own voices might drown out the song.
They were realizing for the first time that being a fan of a soothing master was far more rewarding than being a fan of a singer.
After all, they could see the soothing master every night. As for singers, unless there was a commercial event or a concert, they basically never got to hear them live.
"Oh my god, Jiang Qin’s live vocals are so steady."
"And she’s performing a soothing while singing, yet you can’t hear her take a breath at all."
"Isn’t that better than those A-list singers? Plus, she writes the lyrics, composes the music, and sings it all herself. Talk about cutting out the middleman."
"Qin Bao should really get into the entertainment industry! I mean, there are plenty of soothing masters, but the entertainment world is desperate for someone with this much talent!"
A few males in the neighboring booth overheard this and immediately retorted.
"Other soothing masters are one thing, but we are definitely in need of a soothing master exactly like Jiang Qin."
An Zeyu was also sitting nearby.
He didn’t join the discussion, but he inwardly agreed with the other males.
The song was beautiful, but he was more focused on Jiang Qin’s soothing ability.
’No one would ever guess that my Riot Value has already dropped to 40%.’
’Maybe others haven’t noticed, or maybe they’re just like me and have chosen to keep quiet about it.’
Regardless, right now, he felt more relaxed than ever before.
He knew without a doubt that this was Jiang Qin’s Calming Power at work.
Logically, in a crowd of three million, he shouldn’t have been able to feel anything at all.
Not even from an A-level female on stage.
As for S-level females, he had never seen one, and there was no information on the Star Network about their soothing abilities.
But now, he could definitely feel his Spirit Sea relaxing.
Even without checking, he was certain his Riot Value was dropping.
At this thought, he looked toward the Spiritual Body on the stage, his gaze growing more serious.
...
After Jiang Qin finished her second song, other females’ Spiritual Bodies had already started scampering about in parts of the bar.
By the third song, the entire stage was covered with all kinds of Spiritual Bodies.
It was a DJ version of the song "Ask."
"Who makes your heart race, who makes your heart ache
Who makes you long to hold him in your embrace
Who even cares about your dreams, who claims to know what’s on your mind..."
The magic of a DJ mix is its ability to ignite the atmosphere.
So the beat alone, which felt like it was drumming directly on your heart, was enough to make your pulse quicken.
"If a woman always waits ’til the dead of night
And gives her youth without regret, will he treat her right
Must a woman never ask too much
And stay forever naive for the one she loves..."
Jiang Qin hadn’t changed the lyrics.
After all, even in the Interstellar age, there were still females troubled by matters of the heart, so the lyrics were still perfectly relevant.
The rules of each world might be different, but some people were bound to end up on similar paths.
Huo Yingying was one such female, troubled by love.
She was an A-level female and usually had an entourage when she went out, but not today. Today, she had snuck out on her own.
Feeling down, she had seen the large crowd here and wandered over.
She hadn’t given it much thought; she just wanted to go somewhere lively and watch other people be happy.
The reason she was in such a bad mood was because of her first partner.
They had grown up together, their partnership arranged by their parents long ago.
But she could feel it: he didn’t love her...
He treated her well, but he didn’t love her. He loved her older cousin from her aunt’s side of the family.
It was only because his family disapproved of her cousin’s low Spiritual Power Level that he hadn’t revealed his true feelings.
So now she was torn.
Should she continue to pretend she didn’t know, or should she be decisive and let them be together...?
Listening to this song, which was both sad and yet made her want to bob her head to the beat, she really just wanted to numb herself and stop thinking altogether.
But her mind remained stubbornly clear.
’How pathetic,’ Huo Yingying thought. ’I’m this sad and I can’t even find a place to distract myself.’
Her only option was a bar that sold Inhibitors, which was typically a place for males to unwind.
Females usually only came out of curiosity, and even then, all they could do was listen to the music.
But this place was different. It actually had a female singer-in-residence, and she was quite good.
And the vibe was great, too.
She heard people nearby shouting the name Jiang Qin and figured it must be the name of the young female on stage.
Curious, she opened her Light Computer and did a quick search.
That’s when she discovered the young female wasn’t a singer-in-residence at all—she was a soothing master!
And a pretty famous one, at that.
She tapped the follow button and closed the search.
Just then, many of the females in the crowd got to their feet, waving glow sticks.
They swayed their bodies and sang along, "It’s just that women fall head over heels so easily
Always trapped by love, sinking deeper and deeper..."
Swept up in the moment, she joined them, singing loudly, as if pouring all of her pent-up frustrations into the song.
With a chorus of a million voices, the classic lyrics echoed throughout the entire venue.
Jiang Qin’s forehead was slick with sweat, but her eyes were sparkling brightly.
The guitar in her hands never once stopped.
She seemed less like a soothing master and more like a singer reveling in the spotlight.
This was Mia’s assessment.
’Hmph. Just an attention-seeker.’
’Still, this is a good thing,’ she thought. ’The better the bar’s business, the faster my sentence will be reduced, and the sooner I can get out of this hellhole.’
That’s why she couldn’t stand this female who had willingly taken on the job.
’A C-level female has to rely on singing to draw a crowd. How much Calming Power could she possibly have, anyway?’
Remembering that she herself was a B-level female, Mia puffed out her chest, let out a cold snort, and turned to leave.
’As for my shift,’ she decided, ’I’ll do it. But I’m going to be late.’
’Otherwise, I’d lose so much face.’
This was driving Zhu Yongkang crazy with anxiety. He once again sent someone to get her.
"Go ask again if she can come over right away. Miss Jiang is about to get off stage."
"Right away, Manager."
Zhu Yongkang paced back and forth in frustration. "Didn’t you just tell me she was already here waiting backstage?"
The assistant was speechless as well. He couldn’t believe that someone who had already arrived would leave again, knowing her shift was about to start.
"Should we... send the dance troupe up to stall for a while?"
"Hah. A little while is one thing, but what if she’s gone for more than just a little while?"
What was most frustrating was that he couldn’t reprimand a female, even one who was serving a sentence here.
If he reported her lateness to the law enforcement department, the most they would do is add ten days or half a month to her sentence.
But what about the three million patrons waiting inside his venue?
Perhaps the people who came for Jiang Qin would be understanding.
But a good portion of the crowd had come specifically because the bar had two B-level soothing masters!
Zhu Yongkang gritted his teeth. "You stay here and talk to Miss Jiang. I’ll go hurry her along myself."
