Chapter 71: RED FEATHERS

The black market was located in the island that could be accessed from River Creek pack. There was an old pier that would provide you with boat to cross the water.

Until now, no one knew, who owned the island and neither the three kingdoms would mess with this avenue. After all, the royals were involved in the black market in one way or another. They had businesses here under alias.

Once they arrived, they went straight to Golden Dynasty Guild.

Zuri knew about this guild, this was one of the famous guilds in the black market, but only now she knew it belonged to Khaos.

Meanwhile, Bryden didn't look happy that Zuri learned another thing about the alpha. In his opinion, this woman knew too much about them, while her role was not really important, but the alpha insisted to get her involved.

"I don't know that you were the owner of the Golden Dynasty Guild." Zuri raised her brows, as she walked with Khaos in the empty hallway of the Guild's headquarter. She felt better after she talked with him and realized that it was all in her head when she thought Khaos was ignoring her. "No wonder you can buy ten ships. You are loaded," she teased him.

Khaos laughed. "I become more attractive in your eyes, right?" He patted her head. "At this point, you will be more obsessed with me and couldn't escape me even if you wanted to."

Zuri stretched her arms. "I don't have any plan to escape you. More so, the king has blessed our union. Once the problem in River Creek pack has settled, we will have our union." Zuri winked at him. "You will not be able to escape me even if you wanted to."

"I think we destined to be together."

Later that night, Zuri was disappointed when she learned that Khaos slept in different room. All of her negative thought came in full force. Xaden mocked her, her mother scowled at her for not being able to secure a man. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

That was a long night, as her body racked with anxiety.

'You look like a cheap whore, who is ready to jump on him anytime.'

That was what her mother told her.

'You are so ready to spread your legs for him, huh? Are you so eager to bear his child and play happy family together?'

And that was what Xaden told her, as he laughed heartily to see the look on Zuri's face. At that point, she decided that she couldn't wait any longer, she needed to get the money to buy her medicine.

With no other option, Zuri entered Khaos's room and took some of his gold, which was enough to buy her the medicine that she needed.

"Sorry," she said in whispery tone.

Khaos didn't bring many golds with him in person, but losing two golds wouldn't be a problem for him, right? After all, he was loaded.

But, little did she know, Khaos opened his eyes when she left the room. His expression was unreadable.

Later in the morning, she couldn't even finish her breakfast and want to go straight to a certain place, where she used to obtain information.

"I will go alone," Zuri said. "I am more comfortable to move around if I am alone."

"It's not safe for you to roam around the black market alone," Khaos said, he saw how she only took two bites of her bread and then put it down. Her cheeks were hollowed and her collarbones protruded. If she kept doing this, she would only be left with skin and bone in the day of their union.

"This is not the first time I am here," Zuri laughed and then stood up. "I will return with a good news." And without waiting for Khaos's respond, she left.

"Do you think we can trust her?" Bryden asked, he stared at her retreating back with suspicious gaze. He shifted his attention back when Khaos stood up. "Where are you going?"

"Take care of the problem here. Make sure the five ships bring the goods that we need." He then left without saying anything anymore after he gave that instruction.

The beta was not happy with this situation to say the least. He didn't like it when he saw Khaos put a lot of attention on that woman. She could distract him from their lifelong plan.

It was not even difficult to know what the alpha was going to do. If he wanted to keep an eye on Zuri's movement and make sure she really did help them to trace the golden stamp, he could have asked someone else to do it, instead of him doing the labor job himself.

And Bryden was right. Khaos was following Zuri. She indeed went to the spot that she said she would go to and meet with someone, who took her inside a jewelry shop.

Usually, in a place like this, an information could be bought and if you have the right connection, you would find the right people, who could hunt the information that you wanted.

However, Khaos had never heard about this jewelry shop before. The fact that Zuri had connection here was baffled him.

He waited for two hours in the quiet alley until Zuri emerged from the shop and then walked away. Khaos had given her the money that she needed and there was nothing unusual. She didn't act suspiciously, aside from the fact he would occasionally see her muttered something under her breath. Her face looked annoyed.

And when Khaos thought she would return to the guild immediately, she went to different place and this put him on alert.

She went to drug store, but she came out without buying anything and when Khaos asked what drug she wanted to buy, the owner shrugged his shoulder.

"I have never heard such medicine before. I think she just came up with the name."

"What the name of the medicine?"

"Red feathers."
