Clara Grant hummed in agreement. She then explained how Miles Quinn had lied to Director Conway and Vice Principal Chandler, claiming to be the man in the photo—her boyfriend—to save her from expulsion.

Sarah Shelby’s voice shot up on the other end of the line, sounding excited. "Miles Quinn actually pretended to be your boyfriend just to help you?! Doesn’t that mean he likes you too, but just hasn’t had the right chance to say it? Otherwise, why would he go so far as to pose as your boyfriend to help you out?"

Clara Grant laughed bitterly, deciding not to hide the truth from her friend. "Even if he does like me, we can’t be together anymore. Because... Seth Quinn and I registered our marriage today."
