A Night of Desire-Chapter 34: Did the Sun Rise in the West?
In the past, whenever Seth Quinn and River Sterling came here to relax, Lord Sterling would almost always call over a few young women for company.
However, while Lord Sterling would call for women, Lord Quinn was incredibly cold toward them, never allowing any to get near him.
And yet, his looks and disposition were so perfect and distinguished that it was rare for a woman not to be drawn to him.
So, some of the bolder women had taken the initiative to approach him, but they were often scared away by one of his sharp, cold glares before their behinds could even touch the sofa.
Then there were the even bolder ones, who, unfazed by his cold glare, would insist on getting closer. He would shut them down with a voice laced with disgust.
It was for this very reason that the manager hadn’t even thought to bother asking him.
’But today, this man—a veritable icicle who was clearly the abstinent type—had actually taken the initiative to call a woman over?’
’Had this lord finally seen the light, or had the sun risen in the west today?’
But strange as it was, he didn’t dare let a hint of his surprise show. He simply gave a respectful acknowledgment and went to summon someone.
...
It was about eight o’clock when Clara Grant and Sarah Shelby arrived at The Tuberose. Though the club’s nightlife hadn’t truly begun, the entrance was already crowded with cars of every make and model.
Clara Grant checked the spot where she had parked the day before, but she didn’t see her scooter. She and Sarah Shelby then searched the entire parking lot near the entrance, but her electric scooter was nowhere to be found.
Just as the two of them were wondering if it had been stolen, a security guard approached them. He studied them for a moment before asking in a stern voice, "Ladies, can I help you with something?"
’They look a bit suspicious!’
"Oh, hello." Clara Grant, naturally noticing his suspicious gaze, hurried forward and said, "Excuse me, have you seen an electric scooter?"
As she spoke, she pointed to the spot where she had left it. "I parked it right here last night. I left in a friend’s car, so I didn’t ride it home. I planned on picking it up today, but now I can’t find it."
Hearing her explanation, the security guard’s expression softened. "Oh, so that electric scooter was yours?"
Clara’s face lit up. "You know where it is?"
The security guard nodded. "I do. It was parked here all night. By this morning, when no one had come for it, our manager thought it was... an eyesore, so he had me move it to our underground storage room."
The corner of Clara Grant’s mouth twitched. ’In the parking lot of a luxurious entertainment venue packed with high-end cars, my little electric scooter really is quite an "eyesore".’
’He was already being kind by not using harsher phrases like ’utterly shameful’ or ’an offense to the eyes’.’
"Then where is your underground storage room? Could I trouble you to take me there to get it?"
"Of course. But our manager has the key to the storage room right now. Let me take you to him to get it."
"Thank you, then." Clara Grant said, then turned to Sarah Shelby. "Sarah, why don’t you wait in the car? I’ll be right back."
Sarah Shelby nodded and got in the car.
Clara Grant followed the security guard through the main entrance. They had only taken a few steps when someone called out to the guard, apparently in a hurry.
The security guard went over, exchanged a few words with the person who had called him, then returned to Clara Grant. "Miss, something urgent has come up. Would you mind finding the manager yourself? He’s on the third floor, attending to guests in Room 306."
"Alright." Clara Grant agreed, thanked him again, and stepped into the elevator to head to the third floor.
