A second chance with my billionaire husband-Chapter 1666 - 351: Love Is Hard, Staying Together Is Even Harder (Part 1)
"This is another story. Back in the days when I went to the remote mountains to gather herbs, I passed by a household and stayed overnight. The next day, I went up the mountain to collect herbs. San Qi was the child of the male owner of this household. On the day I returned from the mountain, San Qi played with fire, burning the house down. His parents perished in the flames trying to save him. He had a high fever, and I barely managed to save him. His voice was ruined, and he couldn’t speak anymore. I managed to treat his voice, but he still couldn’t talk. Later I realized it was psychological; he felt guilty for causing his parents’ death and was punishing himself. Better not to pressure him; maybe one day he’ll figure it out and speak on his own."
It turned out that the once seemingly sweet and adorable San Qi had such an experience.
"I should take him to see a psychologist to untangle the knot in his heart."
Doctor Hua snorted lightly, "You, focus on yourself first, stop meddling in others’ affairs."
"I think that kid isn’t bad. If there’s a misunderstanding between you, resolve it quickly. Life is only a few decades long; loving is not easy, and staying together is harder. Don’t leave regrets in your life...."
Yun Ya pressed her lips together, "You don’t know anything...."
"Hmph, I’m too lazy to deal with your messy affairs. Do whatever you want." Doctor Hua waved his hand irritably.
"Don’t bother me here."
Yun Ya stayed there for a day, and by evening, Yan Song still hadn’t shown up. Yun Ya was worried and yet angry—did he really not care about her anymore?
"Don’t say I’m driving you away; I really don’t have a spare room. There’s only a shack; if you don’t mind, make do with it for the night."
To say it nicely, it was a shack; more bluntly, it was a pigsty. Inside, messy things were piled up, and by the window was a broken bed with straw mats laid on it. The window leaked air, and at night, the temperature fell sharply, making Yun Ya shiver uncontrollably.
Yun Ya sat on the bed, leaning against the wall, hugging herself, feeling like her heart was as cold as the wind outside the window....
"Creak"—the door opened, and Yun Ya’s eyes brightened slightly. Had Brother Yan come because he was worried about her?
Seeing the person come in, a trace of disappointment crossed her eyes.
San Qi walked in with a quilt, placed it on the bed, then took some planks. Taking off his shoes, he stood on the bed, hammering the planks to block the drafty window.
Finally, it was not so cold.
Yun Ya draped the quilt over her; it had a sunny scent, pleasant to the smell.
San Qi then lit some charcoal in the room, opened a crack in the window for ventilation, and was about to leave after finishing everything. Yun Ya hurriedly grabbed him, "Don’t go."
It was so dark here, she was somewhat scared.
San Qi sat with her, imitating her posture, hugging his knees.
He was warm, and Yun Ya leaned closer, resting her head on his shoulder: "Miaomiao...."
San Qi didn’t speak, straightening his back to let Yun Ya lean more comfortably.
"Lately, I’ve been dreaming of you... The you in my dreams is crying; are you unhappy? It’s my fault, for not protecting you...." She murmured softly, her gentle voice drifting in the room, adding some melancholy to the night.
"Wait for me; I will surely take you home...."
Unknowingly, she fell asleep.
San Qi laid her flat on the bed, checked the window again, and carefully covered her with the quilt before quietly closing the door and leaving.
The night was tranquil, and the small courtyard was peaceful.
Doctor Hua watched his medical book for a while, got up to close the window, and suddenly raised his eyebrows, noticing a tall and slender figure standing in the courtyard.
That person looked over at him, bowing politely.
Doctor Hua "heh" and pointed towards the shack, shrugging shoulders, then suddenly shut the window.
The shack’s door creaked open.
In her sleep, Yun Ya turned over; the bed was so narrow she was about to fall off when suddenly, an arm wrapped around her, pulling her back.
"Can’t even sleep properly." A helpless voice sounded.
Yan Song took off his coat, brushed away the chill, and stretched, warming up before lifting the quilt to get in.
Yun Ya seemed to be running in the snow all the while, shivering from the cold. Suddenly, a ray of sunshine broke through the clouds, casting a strong beam of sunlight, melting the snow and warming her body.
She instinctively chased toward the sunlight, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t catch it.
