A Twisted Love Affair-Chapter 120: His infatuation (3)_1
Chapter 120: His infatuation (3)_1
He wasn’t someone satisfied by just a simple kiss, nor did he have the temperament to be swayed by gentle coaxing.
Zhou Luchen stared at her. She took a step back, attempting to increase the distance from his dark and unfathomable gaze.
Completely defenseless, she was suddenly pulled into Zhou Luchen’s arms and pressed against his thigh. His movements were so rough that her heel knocked against the table leg.
She cried out in pain, but he only pressed her down more firmly, held her head, and kissed her.
Compared to Shen Jing’s kiss, which was like a timid mouse’s theft, his was a domineering conquest—skilled and practiced, a punishment for her naivety.
The 240,000 was not easy to obtain.
Shen Jing even forgot how to react, her gaze frozen, unconsciously following his lead. Her soft arms wrapped loosely around his neck, dangling limply.
Her slender waist felt utterly strengthless in his grasp until he lifted his hand to firmly support her lower back, his warm palm rubbing slowly through the thin satin of her cheongsam, gently caressing her spine.
Zhou Luchen held her tighter, entwining her, his strength undeniable as he supported her entire weight.
Zhuang Ming turned and silently left.
That scene... If a camera had captured it, not even a movie lens could necessarily replicate the impact. If such a photo were to get out, a scandal involving the Second Young Master of United Bank would be enough to cause a massive stir. The Zhou Family was strict, and not without reason.
But Zhuang Ming remembered one time when he accompanied Lu Siyuan abroad on a business trip. On the private jet, Lu Siyuan had drunk a fair bit of red wine...
She had disturbed Luchen while he was working, ending up in his arms, nearly kissing him.
At that time, he was clearly a neat freak; a smile touched the corners of his lips as he deftly evaded her, yet he still methodically let Lu Siyuan sit on his lap. He had jokingly said, "Behave yourself. No random kissing."
Flirtatious on one hand, callous on the other.
「After a long time.」
Their foreheads touched, both covered in a fine sheen of sweat. The corners of her eyes were moist, tears threatening to fall as if she’d been bullied, and she gasped for breath in his arms.
In contrast, Zhou Luchen’s gaze merely narrowed slightly. He maintained his usual calm and indifferent expression, completely unperturbed. He lifted a hand to brush aside the damp hair at her temple and looked at her lazily. "Help me with my buttons."
Shen Jing looked down at him. His upper body was exposed where three buttons of his shirt had burst open.
As he lifted an arm, the lines of his partially exposed muscles tightened and deepened, flexing with hard, stern power.
Shen Jing’s eyes stung slightly as she reached out to fasten them.
One button, two buttons.
Her movements were slightly tense, her palms clammy.
How intense was their kiss that even the buttons had popped open?
A hint of a smile was in his voice, right by her ear.
"You’re going to let everyone see," Shen Jing mumbled, fumbling with a button.
Zhou Luchen’s Adam’s apple bobbed. "See what?" he asked, his voice muffled.
Her fingers poked his firm muscles. "Wouldn’t you be embarrassed if some other young lady saw this?" she said, irritated.
Zhou Luchen was silent for a moment, looking at her. "Who?"
"How would I know?" Shen Jing tilted her small face up, an obvious blush still lingering on it.
He raised his hand and pinched her cheek.
Knowing she was talking nonsense and getting jealous over nothing, he wasn’t in the mood to discuss it with her. "I don’t have time tonight."
Shen Jing paused in fastening his buttons. "Where are you going?"
His voice was hoarse. "Coming with me?"
"Not coming."
How could she go with him? If he didn’t have time, it was definitely for work or meetings. If she accompanied him to all sorts of important events all the time, their secret affair would sooner or later be exposed to the Zhou Family and cause trouble. The Zhou Family didn’t mind who he had flings with, but they would have to intervene if he became too ostentatious with someone.
"It’s Valentine’s Day." Shen Jing knew her place. "I already have plans to go shopping with someone."
Speaking of shopping, Zhou Luchen reached for his phone on the table, swiped across it, and transferred money to her.
Shen Jing looked at the amount, genuinely appreciating his generosity.
He put down the phone. "Wait for me in Shanghai."
Shen Jing hummed in resignation. "Today is Valentine’s Day."
Her intentions were so obvious.
Zhou Luchen leaned back in his seat, completely relaxed. After a moment of silence, he chuckled. "Zhuang Ming will go with you."
Shen Jing’s chin rested lightly on the third button of his open shirt, her voice muffled and sulky. "I don’t want him. He’s too boring."
"When you go shopping," Zhou Luchen said, his fingers leisurely kneading her waist, "he can carry things for you."
Shen Jing didn’t want the extravagance of Zhuang Ming tailing her to carry her bags.
She whispered into Zhou Luchen’s ear, "Have you seen those movies? Be careful your girlfriend doesn’t dump you and run off with the bodyguard."
Zhou Luchen knew she was teasing and was fully aware of her little schemes. He stared at her for a while, his expression suddenly becoming meaningful. "Trying to make me jealous?"
"How would I dare?" she giggled.
His voice was hoarse, yet it sounded almost like a command: "Stay with me today."
"Are you afraid?" Shen Jing asked, lacking confidence.
Zhou Luchen frowned. "Afraid of what?"
"It’s so scandalous, taking a young woman like me out while you’re supposed to be working," Shen Jing said, then paused. "Your dad, grandma, and grandpa would make you kneel in the ancestral hall."
He laughed lightly, very casually. "Then I’ll pull you down to kneel with me."
Shen Jing lifted her chin slightly. "Okay then."
Zhou Luchen patted her shoulder, signaling her to get up. "Grab the phones," he said, his words brief and to the point.
Shen Jing picked up both their phones, put them in her bag, then hooked her arm through his and walked out the door.
That was Shen Jing’s first time accompanying him to a meeting.
The International Finance and Trade General Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
Luxury cars were gathered at the entrance of the building, and an LED screen prominently displayed a line of text:
—Organized by the International Commercial Financing Committee
Formal television media platforms were there, covering and conducting interviews.
From the moment she stepped out of the car, Shen Jing had regretted this decision.
She was holding Zhou Luchen’s arm, boldly facing the media cameras.
It wasn’t like on TV, with reporters crowding around asking a barrage of questions. Instead, there was organized photography, and hosts were conducting serious reports.
The atmosphere was stern and dignified.
Many high-profile CEOs from major corporate groups, leading tech R&D teams, and well-known tycoons from the wealth rankings were present.
Leveraging policy advantages, United Bank supported corporate resource development and investment incubation.
This meeting seemed to be arranged by the government.
After entering, she was handed over to Zhuang Ming.
She watched as Zhou Luchen and several older gentlemen, dressed in executive-style jackets that made them look more like officials than entrepreneurs, went to the main platform.
Only Zhou Luchen, distinct in his CEO-style black suit, moved within the crowd, exuding an air of nobility and aloofness.
Cameras flashed intermittently, and everyone was quiet; any conversations were conducted in hushed tones.
Shen Jing found a seat in a corner and, looking down at her phone, tried to make her presence as inconspicuous as possible.
Other people’s Valentine’s Day was romantic; hers was spent at a meeting.
"Is he always this busy?" Shen Jing asked Zhuang Ming.
"Yes," Zhuang Ming said. "So much so that he refuses to take over United Bank. He insists on handling these matters himself, adhering to policy measures and personally overseeing every detail. Each investment involves tens or even hundreds of billions—it’s not small money. If invested wisely, these companies can be revitalized, thereby boosting the entire economic market."
Shen Jing watched the entrepreneurs come and go. "Then he might as well be a carefree, third-generation rich kid, just eating and drinking his life away. It’s not like he could squander all of his father’s fortune anyway."
Zhuang Ming replied expressionlessly, "If that were truly the case, the Old Master would have him kneel in the ancestral hall for two hours every day."
"Has he ever kneeled?" Shen Jing was brimming with curiosity.
Zhuang Ming maintained his serious demeanor. "Almost. He used to frequent clubs with female celebrities. His grandmother dotes on him and always protected him from the family rules."
Shen Jing burst into laughter. "What a pity. He really should kneel."
