Chapter 60: 059 gentle and clingy, just like you_1

When Shen Jing woke up, she was in bed. She looked around; the room was completely empty.

Zhou Luchen wasn’t home. The housekeeper had already made her breakfast and left.

Naked, Shen Jing went to the walk-in closet. The vast space was filled with rows of Zhou Luchen’s expensive suits and shirts; there really weren’t any of her clothes there. Finally, she spotted a pink gift box on the dressing table.

It was extremely large. Rummaging through it, she found a few nightgowns and two or three outfits.

By noon, Chen Yao’s cat, locked in a pet carrier, was delivered. There was also a white Ragdoll.

One look and Shen Jing knew: Chen Yao couldn’t bear to part with his own cat, so he’d picked another one from a pet store for her.

The cat was small, gentle, and clingy, showing no aggression—perfect for someone like her, who was afraid of cats.

Timid, weak, and wary of strangers, it refused to come out.

She was afraid of it, and it was afraid of her.

He certainly knew how to pick them.

Shen Jing watched it for a long time. It was just a substitute, not the cat from her childhood, but it was still rather easy on the eyes.

But she had no interest in keeping a cat.

Shen Jing turned and went to the dining room, eating breakfast while calling Zhou Luchen.

"Zhou Luchen."

She murmured his name, her voice soft and coquettish, though it was nothing compared to her wanton cries from the night before.

Zhou Luchen evidently enjoyed her like this, soft and pleasing to the ear. His voice deepened. "Come in front of the camera."

The beauty’s drowsy morning voice, low and husky, was utterly captivating. "You want to see me?"

Zhou Luchen responded with a low, husky, "HMM."

In his view, she sat obediently on the sofa, wearing a black lace nightgown. The two thin straps over her shoulders accentuated her delicate and pitiable appearance.

She seemed well-rested. Her smile was like a ripe peach, her eyes shimmering with a light that was both tender and sweet.

Zhou Luchen signed contracts while glancing at the computer, letting silence permeate the call, neither of them speaking.

Shen Jing teased the little cat in the carrier. After a long while, she asked softly, "Is it really for me?"

Zhou Luchen parted his lips. "Really."

Shen Jing didn’t sound very happy. "It’s so timid. It’s afraid of me."

He glanced again at the surveillance feed on his computer, a pleased smile playing on his lips. "Just like you."

"Not like me at all." She pouted. "Besides, I’m not keeping it anymore."

A smirk stretched Zhou Luchen’s lips. "All soft and weak—isn’t that just like you?"

Shen Jing huffed coquettishly. "I don’t want it anymore."

Zhou Luchen closed the file and set his pen aside. "The housekeeper can take care of it for you."

"It’s not my cat." Shen Jing’s gaze remained on the kitten in the carrier.

He squinted, trying to read the myriad thoughts behind her expression.

Zhou Luchen frowned slightly. "If I say it is, it is."

Shen Jing sat on the sofa, hugging her knees, and said slowly, "Then I’ll keep it. But you have to take good care of it when I’m not around."

Zhou Luchen patiently responded with a "HMM."

Shen Jing looked up at the camera. "Are you very busy, Zhou Luchen?"

His tone was characteristically faint. "Just wait for me at home."

Shen Jing obediently hummed in acknowledgment.

He must be busy. The call ended.

Shen Jing tossed her phone aside and flopped onto the sofa, burying her face in a pillow to sleep.

Looking at this sofa, images of their tangled bodies from last night resurfaced, and her cheeks instantly flushed a deep red.

But he never cared whether her lower back ached or not.

Why did Zhou Luchen always like such wild things, trying them everywhere?

Sometimes, she felt she was becoming less pure, her affection for him evolving into a craving for his body.

The doorbell rang unexpectedly. Shen Jing hastily slipped on her slippers and opened the door. "Who is it?"

When the door opened and she saw the superstar standing there, Shen Jing was stunned.

Lu Siyuan was equally astonished, sizing up Shen Jing from head to toe.

She was wearing a silk camisole nightgown. The V-neck couldn’t hide the love bites beneath it, especially on the proud curve of her bust, where the marks were noticeably darker. It was as if she had deliberately dressed this way to greet her visitor.

The bright light bathed Shen Jing, making her skin seem to glow and shimmer, as alluring as a seductive siren.

With a figure like that, no wonder Young Master Zhou can’t control himself, Lu Siyuan thought, a pang of jealousy hitting her at first glance. She silently mouthed a curse, Fuck.

Lu Siyuan’s eyes began to sting and turn red. If only my emotions came this easily when I’m acting, and I could cry on cue, she wished.

Even when their eyes met, Shen Jing didn’t shy away in the slightest, her hand resting lazily on the doorknob. "Looking for someone?"

Lu Siyuan withdrew her gaze. "Is Zhou Luchen here?"

Shen Jing tilted her head. "Not home."

The reinforced security door was wide open. Lu Siyuan glanced inside, her expression carefully neutral, then frowned. "Why are you living here?"

Shen Jing leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. "And what brings a big star like you here? Is security really that lax?"

Lu Siyuan flicked her hair back over her shoulder and said that her home was in Building B, right behind, and she was just dropping by as a neighbor.

A superstar is a superstar, after all, Shen Jing mused. Even when just visiting a neighbor, her perfume is so intense. It smells nice, yes, but it’s overpowering.

Shen Jing remained still, her gaze fixed on Zhou Luchen’s beautiful confidante. "You seem to know the apartment number well. Been here before?"

Lu Siyuan sat on the sofa, elegantly crossing her legs. "Been here."

Shen Jing let out a meaningful "Oh." "Should I get you some water?"

"Please do," Lu Siyuan instantly put on airs, facing Shen Jing with her professional smile. "The air is dry; I am a bit thirsty."

Shen Jing didn’t move, her unwelcoming stance perfectly clear.

Lu Siyuan could see it. The more unwelcome she makes me feel, the more I want to stay. This isn’t her house anyway. Does she think she has the right to kick me out?

"Quite the climber, aren’t you?" Lu Siyuan hinted. "Managed to get this far already."

"He’s willing," Shen Jing snorted, stepping forward to close the door.

Not leaving, are you? Fine, then wait for Young Master Zhou to come back and see this romantic mess he’s attracted.

Lu Siyuan rested her chin on her hand, watching Shen Jing. "I advise you to leave him on your own. Don’t wait until you have nowhere left to cry."

Any pretense of kindness was gone from her voice; now it carried a clear trace of disgust.

Shen Jing countered, "And in what capacity are you saying this to me, Miss Lu? As his girlfriend?"

Those three words—"his girlfriend?"—seemed to hit a raw nerve in Lu Siyuan. That line from the social media post was once again dragged out like a corpse to be flogged, mocking her.

Shen Jing asked again with a smile, "Are you?"

Is she? Lu Siyuan valued her pride immensely, and Shen Jing wasn’t about to give her any.

I used to think Shen Jing was no different from those other women fawning over Zhou Luchen, Lu Siyuan mused. But I see now she has her methods and her looks.

But Shen Jing’s type of methods are just what wealthy young masters keep around for amusement.

In these matters, Zhou Luchen’s desires are fleeting; he never gets truly emotionally involved.

Thinking this, Lu Siyuan controlled her temper, her voice softening into a smile. "Well, are you?"

Whether she was or wasn’t, Shen Jing herself wasn’t sure. But she remained perfectly composed, not a hint of disarray, a smile on her face. "Does Miss Lu enjoy keeping such close tabs on me?"

Lu Siyuan was speechless. Who would want to pay attention to her? If she weren’t always hovering around Zhou Luchen, I wouldn’t even spare her a glance!

When Zhou Luchen returned, this was the scene he found.

The assistant following him hesitated at the doorway, unsure where to put the documents. Who would have thought? The famously decisive and disciplined Mr. Xiaozhou, who everyone assumed lived a solitary, abstinent life, was actually hiding a stunning Jiaojiao in his mansion!

Shen Jing tossed her hair, stormed into the bedroom, and slammed the door. BANG.

"Zhou Luchen, don’t you dare come in until you’ve dealt with this!"
