A Twisted Love Affair-Chapter 79: They have no concerns about their weekly total 1
Chapter 79: They have no concerns about their weekly total 1
The only response Zhou Luchen received was the little cat raising its head and letting out a soft MIAOMIAO.
Zhou Luchen’s flirtatious smile remained on his thin lips as he walked straight into the study.
He said he wouldn’t coax her, and indeed, he didn’t.
In Zhou Luchen’s eyes, she was probably just being difficult. He didn’t understand her; there should be more to a couple’s relationship than just sex, not only those two desperate hours of lovemaking on the balcony.
Shen Jing was physically and mentally exhausted. Restless and unable to sleep, she spent the whole night on the couch, shifting positions, utterly bored.
She called Liang Yingning. Deafening DJ music blasted from the other end.
Ever since Chen Yao provoked her, Liang Yingning had become increasingly wild.
Even a drunk Liang Yingning couldn’t help but ramble, "Stop fussing, baby. Even if you rub your hands raw making him something sweet, he won’t remember how good it was."
As she spoke, Liang Yingning asked the DJ to turn the music down a bit and told Shen Jing, "Take advantage while he’s still in the mood to coddle you. Dump him now. Give his smooth-sailing life a taste of frustration. He’s very possessive; he’ll remember you then. Playing hard to get is cliché, but it works."
Shen Jing, lounging lazily on her pillow, replied, "Not interested."
Liang Yingning then remembered something. "Let me tell you, the Wei Family is in big trouble. It looks like they’re going bankrupt."
Shen Jing froze.
"Good if they go bankrupt. They can go down with my Liang Family. Anyway, you should get some sleep. I’m going to party." Liang Yingning blew a kiss through the phone. "Bye-bye, MWAH!"
Right then, with the alcohol hitting her, all Liang Yingning could think about was having fun; she had no time to chat with Shen Jing.
Shen Jing put down her phone and got up.
She leaned seductively against the study doorway, cooing softly, "President Zhou."
The lighting was dim. The house boasted excellent soundproofing and privacy. Beneath the crystal lamp was the Hector desk, an exquisite piece in black and grey.
The man in the executive chair turned sideways, his eyes narrowing as he sized her up for a moment before laughing.
Shen Jing stepped forward, closed the door, and walked towards Zhou Luchen.
He parted his legs, making a space on his lap just for her.
As soon as she settled onto his lap, Zhou Luchen gripped the nape of her neck, tilting her chin up as his kiss landed, fierce and demanding.
Shen Jing’s pupils dilated. In the corner of her eye, she saw the computer screen displaying executives from various overseas departments, along with Li Heng, who was diligently taking notes. Their President Zhou was being completely unguarded in a place they couldn’t see.
Kissed breathless by him, Shen Jing dared not breathe loudly. She whimpered weakly, almost piteously begging for mercy, terrified the camera might suddenly pan to capture the risqué scene.
However, Zhou Luchen bit the corner of her lip even more fiercely.
This time, Shen Jing held her breath, even more terrified of making the slightest sound and being discovered.
On the screen, Li Heng spoke earnestly, "The Wei Family mishandled the Tong Village tourism development project. There’s a mole in Wei Group’s finance department; an accounting error was made."
"As a result, Wei Group couldn’t access the funds to pay the Tong Village villagers on time. Countless internet celebrities posted videos to help the villagers demand justice, causing it to trend online. Wei Group’s stock value plummeted by 20 billion overnight," Li Heng added.
Zhou Luchen’s gaze sharpened. Only then did he release her. He tapped the cigarette between his fingers and commanded in a cold voice, "Allocate the funds to cover it."
Shen Jing had seen many sides of Zhou Luchen, but he was at his coldest and most indifferent when working.
Li Heng flipped through his notes. "The board didn’t approve the resolution. Chairman Zhou, you previously instructed that the company is unwilling to allocate 20 billion to save a useless company."
Zhou Luchen spoke calmly, "Use my personal funds."
Twenty billion, mentioned as casually as if it were merely two or three hundred thousand.
Li Heng was silent for a moment, then, understanding implicitly, said, "Understood, President Zhou. I’ll arrange it with finance."
SNAP. Zhou Luchen closed his laptop. His handsome eyes crinkled with a smile as he focused on the beauty in his arms. Coincidentally, she was also looking at him.
He murmured in her ear, "What is it?"
Shen Jing tilted her head up, asking curiously, "Is it Wei Sulin’s family?"
He hummed in affirmation.
Shen Jing asked softly, "His sister was your ex-girlfriend, wasn’t she?"
He gave a light, faint smile, his expression completely unruffled. His fingertip pressed against her swollen lips. "You found out?"
The question was direct; he clearly had no intention of hiding it.
Shen Jing nodded. "I know."
Out of curiosity, she had even checked Wei Sulin’s social media feed, but found that his posts were all photos of flowers, plants, and scenery, showing no interaction with his sister. She had never managed to see what President Zhou’s ex-girlfriend looked like.
Beyond that, Shen Jing didn’t ask any more questions.
