A Twisted Love Affair-Chapter 98: President Zhou, your love debt (4)_1
Chapter 98: President Zhou, your love debt (4)_1
Shen Jing called for a designated driver.
Once she handed over the keys, she comfortably lay down in the back seat.
The designated driver was a young man. He adjusted the seat and steering wheel, noting the substantial difference between a girl’s settings and a boy’s.
It was his first time driving such a luxury car. It was a white model with an interior primarily in matching white—pure, clean, and understated, yet clearly very expensive. This young lady is quite wealthy.
The driver glanced at the rearview mirror and started to chat with his employer.
"Where are we heading, ma’am?"
"To the private garage of Yunding’s Block C."
Yunding luxury residences, huh? The kind with exclusive private garages.
It had been a long time since he, as a driver, had encountered a truly wealthy family.
The young driver smoothly got on the road. "Sister, driving such a nice car and coming from a place like that, don’t you have a chauffeur to pick you up?"
She did, but she didn’t use one.
The chauffeur always drove the Zhou Family’s cars, and that was too ostentatious for her.
Shen Jing hugged a pillow to her chest, closed her eyes as if to sleep, and replied nonchalantly, "The car was a gift. It didn’t come with a driver."
The driver was taken aback for a moment. To gift such a top-tier luxury car, it must be a boyfriend or someone with a very special connection.
Glancing in the rearview mirror again, he asked, "You’re not going to vomit, are you? The interior materials are very delicate. If you throw up, it could ruin the upholstery."
Two sips of alcohol, what’s there to vomit about? Do I look that drunk to him?
Shen Jing sat up to look in the mirror; her face was only a little red.
"If I throw up in it, I’ll just sell it," Shen Jing mused, already calculating. "I’ll use the money to raise my cat."
Raising that little kitten is even more expensive. My entire salary goes to Grandma for her teapots and tea sets.
My salary, if I split it, definitely wouldn’t be enough to raise the cat. That money is for Grandma.
The driver didn’t quite get it and just said, "Sister, you really know how to joke."
He kept calling her ’Sister.’ The address warmed her heart, and she was quite happy to hear it.
She was indeed a little tipsy and leaned into the "big sister" role. "In a bit, your big sister here will give you a red envelope as a greeting gift."
The young driver was an honest fellow. "Company policy states we can’t accept gifts like that. A good review from you, Sister, would be plenty."
"I will," Shen Jing smiled. "Can we drive around a bit more?"
The driver checked the fuel gauge; it was full. "Sister, you don’t seem tired at all. Let’s take you for a spin then."
Shen Jing nodded.
After driving around for a bit, the driver, naturally not daring to take too many liberties, had her back at Yunding in under half an hour.
"Alright, Sister, I’m off. Next time you’re drinking, remember to call me. I always work the night shift."
"Okay..."
Shen Jing strolled leisurely to the elevator, messaging a manager from a used luxury car dealership on WeChat.
Sell the car.
Just sell it.
Her chat with the luxury car manager concluded, 「I’m sorry, Ms. Shen, we’ve learned that your car is a privately customized model for a top-tier client of the brand. It’s a one-owner, one-car type of deal. Transferring ownership would involve considerable effort, so we really can’t buy it back.」
Shen Jing replied with a "bye" and deleted his contact.
The car key slipped from her hand. She looked down at it, then nudged the key with her foot and chuckled.
"See? No one even wants you."
How absurd.
In the end, she still had to bend over, pick up the key, and put it in her pocket.
She unlocked the door and turned on the lights.
Shen Jing walked to the kitten’s room and gently pushed the door open.
A small, white kitten was lying on its back, batting at a ball of yarn. Seeing Shen Jing open the door, it immediately rolled over, scrambled to its feet, and with its short legs, joyfully pounced into her arms. It licked her chin happily, meowing and nuzzling affectionately from time to time.
It’s even better at acting cute than I am.
Footsteps sounded from behind her; a man was approaching, loosening his tie as he walked.
Shen Jing didn’t speak, lowering her gaze to the cat in her arms, allowing the man behind her to embrace her.
Zhou Luchen’s chin rested on her shoulder. His palm covered her hand, gently kneading it as he pressed close to the side of her neck.
Shen Jing tried to pull her hand away, but he was too strong. Instead, his domineering grip only tightened, ensnaring her further.
Zhou Luchen tightened his embrace. "You just love to get jealous."
Shen Jing turned her head. "I don’t want to be jealous over *you*. With that playboy air of yours, anyone who ends up with you would be jealous for a lifetime, with no end in sight."
He smirked, his voice low and a bit hoarse. "Go on, take a good sniff. Do I smell of another woman’s perfume?"
She sniffed.
"I can’t tell." Shen Jing bit the corner of her lip, her voice soft and gentle. "It’s all the scent of Bai Qinan."
Of course, it was the scent of Bai Qinan; Zhou Luchen had heated the incense himself.
Bai Qinan is soft and thus precious. Unlike ordinary agarwood, it needs to be gently heated for its rich, mellow fragrance to fully diffuse.
No wonder auction prices for even a small piece could soar into the hundreds of thousands, let alone purchasing an entire block for home use.
His voice was low, now tinged with exasperation. "I heated Bai Qinan for you all night. Still not convinced?"
He revealed this quite frankly.
Shen Jing wasn’t satisfied. She turned her head away, her eyelids softening as a sense of grievance welled up, her eyes turning red. "Have you two completely broken it off?"
Zhou Luchen looked down and chuckled. "Always fussing over such things."
Shen Jing laughed along. "You have to answer me honestly."
"We broke up a long time ago," he said.
Shen Jing nudged his forearm, vexed. "Don’t you dare lie to me."
She had to have an answer.
Amused, Zhou Luchen scooped her up by the waist, the little white cat still nestled between them.
He carried her to the living room sofa and tossed her down. Then, he pressed down, effortlessly lifting her by the waist so she was lying on top of him.
They stayed like that for a long time, Shen Jing resting in his embrace, watching the little cat dozing on the rug.
It was a serene, harmonious moment.
A text message from Wenxin came through. His phone was on the coffee table, and when the screen lit up, Shen Jing saw it instantly.
「I can give you 3 more days.」
Rumor had it that Wenxin wasn’t leaving anymore. The Wei Family had faced a crisis previously; whether it was because of Zhou Luchen or the Wei Family’s own reasons, she had returned to the country to stay.
An ex is truly an unforgettable Chapter.
Shen Jing felt an urge to say: It’s so tedious for him to be playing these ambiguous games with me while his ex is still in the picture.
But she wasn’t going to be dramatic or ask.
She wanted him to handle it himself, willingly.
Shen Jing sat up and straightened the straps of her disheveled slip dress. Her gaze drifted past the sofa to her reflection in the floor-to-ceiling window. He had pulled both straps down her arms, and they now hung precariously on her slender, delicate skin.
He was such a rake, always taking liberties with her.
Once she had adjusted her clothing, she looked down at the man she was kneeling over. She leaned down and used a wet wipe to clean the lipstick marks from his chest.
Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, lightly brushing against his chest.
The rich, creamy scent of coconut milk wafted from her, an enticing tickle to his senses.
Zhou Luchen ran his hand through her hair; it was as soft as satin.
Suddenly, he pulled her back, flipping her over so her back was against him.
Zhou Luchen’s palm pressed against her lower abdomen as, inch by inch, his lips kissed her beautiful butterfly bones.
The defined line of her spine was smooth and sleek. As light fell upon it, her skin seemed to shimmer like lustrous jade.
His kisses moved to her earlobe, which he gently nipped. "Stop being angry, alright? I apologize," he murmured.
Shen Jing’s face was pressed against the armrest. His words sounded almost like an auditory hallucination. Arrogant and autocratic as he was, she found it hard to believe he was actually apologizing.
She asked listlessly, "What did you say?"
Then she heard the soft RUSTLE of his belt being unbuckled.
Shen Jing gradually tensed.
"If you keep making a fuss, Shen Jing, I won’t coax you anymore."
When he used her full name, it meant his patience was wearing thin.
Shen Jing went limp against the sofa. "I’m going to Beijing tomorrow for a competition. Take good care of the kitten."
Zhou Luchen frowned subtly, resting his chin on her head. "What competition?"
