Chapter 360: 360 Powerless

[Eric’s Perspective]

Actually, my consciousness was extremely clear when the vehicle tilted and rolled over. I didn’t hear any sound of shells exploding, so the real reason our vehicle was struck and sent flying wasn’t this!

After the painful scraping noise outside the car stopped, I even subconsciously turned back to check on the Lycan Queen’s condition. A gash had opened on her forehead, and she was already bleeding. I opened my mouth to say something, but the severe pain in my body didn’t support my doing so.

Then, I heard an odd sequence of footsteps, or were they footsteps? I had some doubts.

The sound moved slowly from behind me, stopped at the opposite car window, and then the deformed car door was violently yanked open from the outside!

Such an act was not something a werewolf in its normal form could achieve, at least I couldn’t.

And the image I saw next, I think I will never forget it for the rest of my life!

Because of the tilt of the vehicle, I was bound in place by the seatbelt, looking downward from a higher-than-ground-level perspective. This monster’s eyeballs were enormous, surrounded with crimson blood vessels, seemingly devoid of any sense, only showing the ferocity and brutality of a wild beast.

It sniffed the air inside the car, as if confirming something.

When it reached out and grabbed half of the Lycan Queen’s shoulder, I held my breath, widened my eyes, and roared, "Let her go! Stop it, you bastard!"

Of course, it didn’t respond to me at all; its eyes seemed fixed only on the unconscious Lycan Queen. I clenched my teeth, drew my gun wanting to shoot it, but its movements were obviously much faster!

When it dragged the Lycan Queen out, her seatbelt was also torn off. I tightly gripped the gun and fired a shot, only hitting the ground near the monster’s feet. Then, a wolf howl pierced the sky, and the next moment, it leapt over the roadside barrier and dashed into the depths of the woods.

"Ah!" I roared, trying to free myself from the things pressing down on me, and urgently shouted out the car window to the other Lycans, "Chase quickly! The Lycan Queen is still in its grasp. Don’t let it escape!"

"Team Leader Eric! This car’s fuel tank has ruptured; it could explode any moment. Let me first get you and Team Leader Mark out, just hang on!"

One of the Lycan team members reached to pull me first, but I slapped his hand away directly. I pointed in the direction where the monster had disappeared, shouting angrily, "I told you to chase that monster first! If it takes the Lycan Queen away, how are we supposed to explain to His Majesty? Are you an idiot? Hurry after it!"

My roar awakened the stunned Lycan. He gritted his teeth, completed his shift, and sprang up in pursuit.

For a while, the forest was filled with the chasing figures of Lycans. I took several deep breaths, hoping within that the monster was not as fast.

Mark in the front and the driver had been silent from the start to the end. My heart tightened slightly, and I spoke out loudly, "You two, wake up! Mark? Can you breathe? Can you respond if you can speak?"

What returned to me was silence. Smelling the blood scent in the car, I once again felt I was utterly useless! The last time I felt this way, it was in Levi’s hands.

Knowing my mindset was problematic, I forcefully suppressed it and, enduring the severe pain, dragged my leg out from under the deformed car door.

When I finally managed to crawl out of the car with great effort, my nose quickly filled with the smell of gasoline; I knew I had to be quicker. Before the car exploded, I had to rescue Mark and the driver from the car!

"You look like you could use some help!"

Hearing someone speaking, I looked up and saw that the person was none other than Mr. Gino, the mob boss we were supposed to meet.

With my voice hoarse, I urgently said, "Please help my teammates. This car is about to explode, and keep your men back as well!" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"You do look a bit familiar, do you know me?" Gino asked directly with some confusion, after speaking, he didn’t forget to signal his subordinates with a gesture to rescue people.

Seeing this, I slightly relaxed, turned my gaze towards the dense forest, and weakly said, "I’ve seen your photo before. My name is Eric, and I am the Lycan escorting the Lycan Queen to meet with you."

"If possible, I ask that you notify His Majesty as soon as possible, say that the Lycan Queen has been captured by the enemy! Thank you, Mr. Gino."

Hearing this, Gino immediately became anxious, his face tensed up.

He surveyed the surroundings and said in a deep voice, "This place is still too dangerous. Let me take you away from here first. Have your other teammates caught up yet?"

I nodded at his words, supporting the last vestiges of my clear consciousness.

"Your personal guard force Lycans are not familiar with this terrain; it seems they won’t catch up with them. Let’s go back and meet up with Donald. We’ll have to leave Margaret’s situation for Donald to figure out!"

With no better solution, Gino said and then bent down to carry me on his back and quickly moved away from the overturned vehicle.
