Chapter 362: 362 Convergence

[Donald’s perspective]

We had just left White Rose Manor, and within half an hour, numerous attacks had taken place, yet there was not a single capable person by my dear Margaret, the Lycan Queen, to protect her.

I had snapped back to reality just minutes ago, realizing that tonight there were no prominent Lycans left guarding the White Rose Manor, only Eric, who was still recovering from severe injuries.

Thinking of this, I furrowed my brows in annoyance, my fingers pressing against my temple, silently digesting the news of Margaret being kidnapped!

Yes, in the minute before I met with Christian, I had received a satellite phone call from Gino. The environment deep in the Lilo Sea was special, making the mind-link among werewolves unstable. I suppose this was why Margaret hadn’t contacted me immediately after the incident at the manor.

At times, emerging technological forces are indeed more reliable than the werewolves’ own abilities.

Upon arriving at Black Sand Bay Pier in the Lilo Sea, I stepped onto the Werewolf Gang’s territory. Gino’s headquarters was hidden not far from the pier in a secluded villa, and though it was my second time here, my mood today was drastically different from the first!

Before the motorcade had come to a complete stop, werewolves standing on both sides of the road came forward to open my door, but I pulled the door open myself and stepped out.

Gino rushed out of the main gate, looking flustered at the sight of me as if seeing a savior, "Donald, you’re finally back. Eric and Mark are almost tearing the place apart inside. Go in and calm them down!" he said urgently.

Without saying a word in response, I just nodded to my old friend and strode past him into the building.

Christian followed behind me in silence, his expression extremely grim, but nevertheless, he took on the responsibility of handling the aftermath, such as arranging care for a few Lycans who were injured in the recent mission!

"We can’t just keep waiting like this! Her Majesty has been taken by those bastards, and we still don’t know what’s happening. Why are you keeping me and my team here? I want to go out, I want to chase those bastards down!"

"I’ve already told you many times. That area has been completely searched by us. Mr. Gino even sent helicopters to scout the area several times just now, and no trace of that creature was found. It’s already fled with the Queen, understand?"

"Didn’t some of your team members also just come back? Even if you don’t trust me, you should trust your own team members, Mark!"

"How is this about not trusting you? I’m saying we can’t just keep waiting. We need to do something, understand? We..."

Mark was a forthright and direct werewolf who spoke with a voice so loud it was astonishing. I had barely reached the door of the room when I heard the unending argument between him and Eric.

And when the werewolf guarding the door bowed to open it for me, their argument abruptly ceased, especially the shouting Lycan, Mark.

"Your Majesty, you’re back. I and Eric..."

"Your Majesty! This time, we failed in our duties. Please punish us!"

I paid no attention to what they had just said or their guilt-ridden, stiff expressions. After taking a seat on the sofa, I casually pulled out the handgun tucked at my waist and flung it onto the coffee table with a ’bang’.

The sound caused the room to fall into silence. I then raised my hand to press my slightly aching forehead, suppressing the overwhelming anxiety and irritation since my mind-link with Margaret wasn’t working anymore!

At that moment, Gino moved forward, seated himself on the sofa next to me, and handed me a cup of water, trying to soothe me, "Donald, don’t be upset right now. Let Eric report the situation to you first. Today’s events really weren’t their fault. Who could have anticipated the enemy’s cunning tactics!"

Upon hearing this, I put down my hand, glanced at the glass of water Gino pushed towards me, and said indifferently, "I’m not upset, and I won’t genuinely blame anyone. Don’t worry, Gino." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

After saying that, I took a deep breath in, raising my eyes to look at Eric and Mark before me.

They both had many wounds, especially Eric, who was half-leaning on a wheelchair, almost entirely wrapped up in gauze.

"Go on, Eric, recount exactly what happened," I said, looking at Eric while glancing sideways at the whiskey bottle on the table.

At that moment, I didn’t care whom it had been prepared for. I grabbed the bottle, poured myself a glass, and drank it down in one gulp, sighing softly in relief—the entire process completed very swiftly.

Gino, seeing this, opened his mouth as if to speak but eventually said nothing, only pouring me another glass in silence.

"Yes, Your Majesty! Around 11 last night, Ruth suddenly came with an order from the Queen, finding me. She said Louis had been attacked on the road while taking the Brand siblings home. The situation wasn’t clear, and Her Majesty, concerned, had already gone to check. With no one else in the manor capable of helping, she asked me to find a way to help the Queen!"

Eric spoke, slowly furrowing his brows as if struggling to remember something, and then his eyes suddenly brightened. He continued somewhat eagerly, "Just minutes after she finished speaking, the manor was suddenly attacked by a group of mysterious people. She was very urgent, wanting me to find Her Majesty, as if she had known that something unexpected was about to happen."
