Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 425 Perish Together
[Margaret’s Perspective]
Actually, it was Elliot who first noticed the arrival of reinforcements. He stood at the forefront of the Lycan camp, keenly hearing the roaring footsteps coming from the exit!
At that moment, his expression turned to one of surprise, and he reported to me loudly, "Your Highness, our reinforcements have arrived! Listening to these footsteps, it must be General Lucas and Charlie’s soldiers who have entered together!"
I did not know who this General Lucas was, but Charlie, who ranked behind him, was an old acquaintance of mine.
minutes later, I saw the army appearing at the cave’s entrance! Elliot was right; among those who came to help were Charlie’s heavy machinery troops and General Lucas leading the army!
Suppressing my own immense excitement, I held the gun in my hand and instructed Elliot while walking, "Cancel the breakout operation! Coordinate with the reinforcements to complete the cleanup; I’m going to tell Donald the good news."
While I was talking, I glanced at Christian by my side and immediately continued, "Christian, follow me. I need the Lycan of the personal guard force to lend a hand."
Naturally, both of them obeyed my command.
Christian acknowledged with a ’yes,’ transformed into human form, and followed closely behind me, with several other Lycans from the personal guard trailing behind us.
The thing I wanted to do was to capture Henry alive!
After recounting the arrival of the reinforcements, unable to contain my bursting sorrow and rage, I aimed the gun at Henry’s heart and furiously cursed the sin-laden man.
Donald impassively blocked Henry’s gaze towards me; I barely managed to calm some of my turbulent emotions when I suddenly noticed a familiar gaze fixated on me from afar.
Turning my head, I saw Elizabeth and instinctively curved my lips slightly. My eyes were slightly moist when I just noticed in the corner of my eye that Dean Andrew had arrived. The next second, Donald abruptly embraced me and lunged toward the edge of the stone platform!
’Bang!’
Something had suddenly exploded. Intense shock waves and blinding light leaked out from behind Donald. I only felt as if my organs had shifted. The next second, I smelled the stench of blood emanating from Donald...
"Donald? Don’t scare me..."
"Margaret!"
"There was an explosion? Your Majesty! Lycan Queen!"
"It was Henry who used a bomb to blow himself up! Hurry and save someone! Someone save Your Majesty and the Lycan Queen!"
The sudden calamity stunned me. After falling to the ground with Donald, it took half a moment for me, driven solely by reflex, to struggle out of his embrace. I lifted my hands, cradling Donald’s face, desiring him to open his eyes and look at me!
I didn’t know whether the blood on my hands was Donald’s or my own. I sobbed hysterically, tears streaming down as I shakily embraced Donald’s neck.
My throat felt as if it was choked, unable to make any sound until Benjamin and Elizabeth rushed over to check on Donald and me. Only then did I suddenly find my voice again, shrieking, "Save Donald! He can’t die. Quick, save him!"
"Okay! We know. Can you let go of your brother-in-law first? You’re also injured, sis!"
"I know, Your Highness. Please let go of His Majesty! I’m Benjamin. With me here, I won’t let anything happen to you or His Majesty!"
Actually, all I could hear at the moment was a massive buzzing in my ears. I only saw Elizabeth and Benjamin’s lips moving differently, but I couldn’t make out a word they said.
I watched the tears and panic on Elizabeth’s face slowly dissipate, my senses gradually returning as I reluctantly let go of Donald sprawled in my arms, allowing Benjamin to frantically press his cape against Donald’s back!
Because the wounds on Donald’s back were too extensive, it wasn’t possible to find a large enough bandage to stop the bleeding, so Benjamin had no choice but to do this.
I mostly understood what Benjamin was trying to do. Although I couldn’t hear anything, my slowly recovering rationality told me Benjamin was doing the right thing.
Elizabeth held up both hands, her face overwhelmed with helplessness and panic; she opened her mouth as if to say something, but I still couldn’t hear her.
Suddenly realizing something, I turned and looked towards the center of the stone platform, the location where the bomb had just exploded, where Henry had been standing motionlessly!
The pitted ground was covered in blood from who knew who, spreading across half of the stone platform. Henry’s body no longer had any smooth, intact skin; he lay there, looking like a pile of half-cooked rotten flesh.
"Cough, cough, cough!" He barely coughed a few times, blood flowing from the corners of his mouth and nostrils, making him seem as if he would crumble with a single touch.
He slowly opened his eyes, his gaze falling on Donald and me.
I stared blankly at him, my body trembling slightly, tears uncontrollably sliding down my face, rage and hatred furiously gathering in the depths of my eyes!
