Abandoned Wife? Her Starlight Shall Blind You!-Chapter 203 - 146: Visiting the Villa and Attending the Market
Jun Moling originally thought that if she didn’t cry, she would suffocate her feelings, and maybe crying would make her feel better.
However, once she started crying, she seemed to become even more aggrieved; her tears flowed like a flood, almost soaking through the clothes on his shoulder.
At first, Jun Moling let her cry, but seeing her cry uncontrollably, he began to worry she might cry herself sick. He quickly patted her back gently, soothing her, "Don’t cry, don’t cry."
Shen Ruoxi vented her emotions forcefully, and once her feelings slightly settled, she realized she had soaked a large area of his black clothes on his shoulder, turning it dark brown. She felt a bit embarrassed.
Seeing her eyes swollen like peaches, Jun Moling felt heartache and softly said, "I’ll take you to a place."
Shen Ruoxi was currently longing to go home for some peace, shaking her head repeatedly, "I don’t want to go out."
Jun Moling knew well that if she went back, she would likely brood over things in her room, becoming more distressed, which wouldn’t do.
"Shall we leave the city?" Jun Moling asked patiently.
Leave the city?
Shen Ruoxi’s heart couldn’t help but be moved.
She looked up at him, sniffing and asked, "Where is the Prince taking me out of the city?"
Jun Moling’s lips curved into a smile as he said, "Just tell me if you want to go or not!"
Shen Ruoxi lightly nodded, "Alright."
Seeing her agree, Jun Moling smiled playfully, "Then I’ll take you out of the city to sell you and see how much Silver we can get?"
Shen Ruoxi replied with red eyes, "I think the Prince is worth more, you’d bring back more Silver."
Seeing her mood seemed to have settled somewhat, Jun Moling relaxed and then instructed the coachman to leave the city.
The carriage sped along, and after leaving the city, it slowly stopped at the foot of a mountain.
Shen Ruoxi got off the carriage and looked around curiously.
In front of her was an exceptionally exquisite courtyard, not large in scale, but every corner exuded a clean serenity.
A few large trees by the roadside were lush with branches and leaves, casting a dense shade.
A flat path of bluestone slabs wound forward, with some low shrubs trimmed neatly alongside.
Beautiful flowers were dotted sparsely among them, sending waves of fragrance as the breeze passed by.
"What is this?" Shen Ruoxi asked with a face full of confusion.
"This is an other residence my father prepared for my mother. She particularly liked tranquility, so every summer, my father would accompany her to live here for a few days, to escape the heat and be far from the hustle and bustle of the Capital City," Jun Moling explained softly.
Upon hearing this, Shen Ruoxi felt a bit uneasy. The two of them were not yet married, coming here so recklessly might be against propriety.
"Let’s go inside first; we won’t be staying here today. There’s a big market in a nearby village today, after changing clothes, we’ll go for a stroll," Jun Moling said with a smile.
Shen Ruoxi had never been to a market before and heard they were lively and bustling, she gladly nodded, "Alright!"
Seeing her seem to regain her usual lively self, Jun Moling relaxed and led her into the other residence.
Entering the yard, one could feel an even more tranquil and harmonious atmosphere. There was a small pond in the yard, the water clear to the bottom, with several koi leisurely swimming.
The doors and windows of the main house were open, the interior arranged simply yet warmly.
Inside the house, hearing the sound of the door opening, three people promptly came out. Among them were a middle-aged man and woman looking fifty or so, and a young man around twenty.
Upon seeing the visitors, the three appeared extremely shocked, emotions flitting through their eyes, and hurriedly came to salute, "Subordinates greet the Young Master."
Jun Moling raised his hand slightly, "No need for excessive courtesy, this is your future Young Mistress, greet her as well."
Hearing this, the three quickly paid respects to Shen Ruoxi, who hastily waved them to their feet.
"This is Old Yu, his wife Lady Yu, and their son Yu Xing; they were once my father’s subordinates."
Jun Moling introduced them to Shen Ruoxi; there was no need to elaborate further, as these three were obviously more than ordinary servants.
Shen Ruoxi smiled and greeted them one by one, yet the three hurriedly bowed and said they dared not.
This place was the residence of the master’s family, holding special significance for the Young Master.
Now that the Young Master brought his future Young Mistress here, it was full of unspoken meaning, apparently he had recognized her.
"Young Master, you have finally returned." Old Yu’s eyes were brimming with hot tears of excitement.
Jun Moling also seemed emotional, "The war is over, I have already handed over the Commander’s Seal, and will have plenty of time to come in the future."
Upon hearing this, Old Yu’s face subtly changed, "Young Master, you have handed over the command?"
"It’s time for a break."
Old Yu seemed not to have heard Jun Moling clearly, his expression turning somewhat disheartened.
Entering the house, Shen Ruoxi suddenly felt as if she were in an elegantly simple boudoir. The colors inside were pale, yet the study table, Yaoqin, and dressing table were all present, exuding warmth and coziness.
"Ruoxi, these are my mother’s casual clothes; you and she have a similar build, pick one to wear, I’ll go change into something else."
"Alright."
Shen Ruoxi carefully picked a casual goose-yellow dress, taking off all the ornaments on her head, leaving only a simple silver hairpin.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she couldn’t help feeling a bit dazed.
Such a plain look seemed to go back to the days in Medicine King Valley.
In a moment, it was as if she had shed a thousand pounds of burden, her body and mind becoming incredibly light.
When Jun Moling came in, he was momentarily stunned.
In a plain goose-yellow dress, her skin appeared even fairer and more translucent, her figure slender and graceful.
Her delicate eyebrows lightly swept, lips naturally red without color, her clear, elegant beauty captivating the gaze.
Shen Ruoxi was also observing him; he had changed into a simple blue robe, with his head casually wrapped with a blue cloth, his sword-like brows and stellar eyes revealing an elegant, otherworldly presence, like a princely young man stepping out of a painting.
"Whose young lady is this? What a water lily blooming," Jun Moling looked at her intently, sincerely praised.
Shen Ruoxi cast him a glance, "Stop fooling around, it’s almost noon, let’s hurry! The market might disperse."
Jun Moling tenderly held her hand, responding, "Let’s go!"
Upon hearing these two were going to the market, and Old Yu and his family happened to be short of some things, they all decided to go together.
To not disturb the Young Master and his future Young Mistress’s private time, upon arriving at the market, everyone naturally scattered.
It was Shen Ruoxi’s first time at such a bustling market; fortunately, it was nearly noon, considered the latter part of the market, and the throngs of people weren’t as crowded as before.
Everything in the market appeared novel to her.
"What’s that?" Shen Ruoxi’s gaze was drawn to various little figurines with curious expressions, brimming with curiosity.
Jun Moling watched her naive look and couldn’t help but laugh, "Sugar figures, why don’t we have him make one for us?"
"Yes, yes!" Shen Ruoxi nodded excitedly, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Soon, each of them held a sugar figure. Shen Ruoxi smiled exceptionally bright, as if all the world’s troubles were unrelated to her, "Young Master Jun, do eat."
After saying that, she put the sugar figure in her mouth, feeling it melt instantly, its sweet taste quickly spreading to her heart.
Jun Moling looked around at the crowd, feeling embarrassed to eat sugar figures on the street, "You eat, I’ll save this one for you too."
Shen Ruoxi didn’t insist, enjoying her treat with relish.
Passing by a stall selling jewelry, the most expensive items here were silver.
Shen Ruoxi’s attention was captured by a uniquely designed plum blossom silver hairpin, holding it for a closer look.
Jun Moling, seeing her fondness for it, paid without hesitation, then gently placed the plum blossom silver hairpin on Shen Ruoxi.
Shen Ruoxi raised her face, full of expectation, asking him, "Does it look good?"
Before Jun Moling could reply, a commotion of noisy quarreling erupted from a nearby tea stall.
