Abyss Draconis-Chapter 435: A Place To Stay
"The Royal Building itself houses only the royals of the Silverunics..." The words came from High Scholar Emeris to Ryuk as they walked down a sloping path of stairs that revealed more of an outside plain.
The huge building of the Royal Home stood just about 100 meters away, gargantuan as ever, and walking with him was a young man with a staff—none other than Ryuk.
"The Queen, the King, and his direct family, the Elders along with their direct families and their close compatriots. These are the royals of the Silverunic race, and they all live in the Royal House."
"On the outside of it is where the commoners live—in the city itself," he explained.
Not far away, Ryuk could already see the massive gates that led outward, where other Silverunics were walking in and interacting with those cubic structures.
But if there was a noticeable difference, it was that unlike the Royals, who were dressed like immortal beings...
The commoners wore much simpler clothing and attire—the females wearing simple gowns with a shawl over their heads, and the males dressed in simple shirts and trousers, some even donning short sleeves.
One glance was enough, and one would understand the true difference between Royals and commoners.
"Since you're under my special watch, it is only rightful that you live close to where I stay. Preferably the Royal House, but then, I can assure only I and my son will see the sense in that."
"The others won't consider it so..." High Scholar Emeir said, and Ryuk nodded his head before he could explain further.
"I understand."
"Good. For that reason, you will live in one of the past Seclusion Rooms, close to the Seclusion Training Garden for the Royalty Kids," He said as they both soon arrived before a valley, where a couple of buildings lay to the right.
They were cubic in structure, but Ryuk couldn't help but notice some of the silvery runes that trailed every wall of the other structures were missing, as if worn out.
Even though the house itself didn't look dirty, it looked worn out—based on the low number of runes around.
And also, the ground wasn't in those silver grasses but rather a simple green grass plain.
When they both walked past the buildings, they soon arrived before a painted tip, like the end of a ground, and beneath it was another area, covered in green grasses and filled completely with runic lights dancing in the area.
Sitting on the grasses were kids, holding large books in their hands, all seated and facing a lady who sat cross-legged, eyes closed—seemingly deep in meditation.
Amongst the kids, Ryuk could even see the twins he had seen first when he had woken up—Filliana and Eliana—reading one of those large books.
"This is the Seclusion Training Ground for the Royalty Kids."
"In here, they are trained and tutored in the Power of Runic Aetheris."
"These buildings used to serve as a place where the kids would stay, waking up to resume their training in the garden."
"But now, we enjoy a moment of peace, and the rules have become laxer."
"The kids are allowed to return home after the day's training, rendering this place obsolete."

"But, I... I think this place will be perfect for you."
"It is close to the Royal Home, meaning it won't take much for my old bones to check on you, and it's also close to the kids' training ground. Here, there are special spaces where you can do a training or two and get yourself more in control of your new form."
"And since it's obsolete—meaning not many Royals would come here in the first place—it's just perfect for avoiding their eyes and therefore their ire from my sight."
"Not only would I get a roof over my head... it will be at a peaceful place, close to the training ground where I can familiarize myself with my new form and also avoid getting in trouble with the Royals. It's perfect," Ryuk completed for High Scholar Emeris, whose eyes flashed with light.
"Glad you can see that."
"I'll ask for some of the maids to bring you the things necessary to survive in here soon."
"For now, just settle down and acclimate yourself with the surroundings," High Scholar Emeris said before turning back and leaving as Ryuk watched his back fading away, only withdrawing his eyes after he was long gone.
His gaze then turned back to the kids who were reading the large books, but he soon noticed their real instructor—who had her eyes closed in meditation—slowly opened her eyes and stared straight at Ryuk, who looked back into those cold, unwelcoming eyes before he turned and walked toward one of the Seclusion Buildings.
A little flickering with the glass and he soon learned he simply needed to push it in, which he did after much effort.
Entering, there wasn't much to say.
A simple white room, the size of a medium-sized room on Endearth.
There were no sofas, but a simple meditation mat on the ground along with a small wooden table that still held trays on it.
The runes lining the walls had already dimmed, but the crystal in the ceiling was still brightly on, providing illumination to the room.
Also, there was no visible window around.
Leaving there, he moved to the only door present, finding another room, holding a glass wardrobe, which he opened up to see some pieces of children's robes within—the kind the Royalty ladies wore—making it clear whoever lived here was a female.
But at least, there was a huge, comfy bed—enough for three—sitting in the bedroom, the sheets still smelling of that female perfume.
Thankfully, it wasn't irritating to him.
There were two other rooms inside: a shower room that had a glass bathtub, and a toilet with surprisingly similar models to Earth—except made of glass.
It was like everything here was made of glass, but with the absence of those rune lines that made the glass harder. Everything in here was more fragile.
"Not the best of conditions, but...I've lived through worse."
