Chapter 531: In Motion...

"A total of about 30 Active Interdimensional Gate Missions."

"The least pays about 20,000 Adventurer Points, which can be changed to star coins, with 1 Adventurer Point equal to 1,500 star coins?" Ryuk muttered to himself as his fingers scrolled the device in his hands, his gaze narrowing at the screen.

"I can only choose a maximum of three quests per day. That should equal a potential payment of about 60,000 Adventurer Points per day."

"That should be equal to about 90,000,000 star coins," Ryuk murmured, swiping away from the Adventurer’s Guild app. He opened a search engine—Toogle—and typed in:

There were tons of other buildings, their images displayed alongside the type of building, the grade of the city they were in, and their total price.

After scrolling for ten minutes and being extremely picky, Ryuk finally found something he liked.

A 3-bedroom, ultra-luxurious building hidden on a reclusive island.

It reminded him of Morgaine’s home—except instead of gothic architecture, it was more modern, with a much larger area.

It had features like its own jet hangar, an aquatic showroom beneath the ocean itself accessible through the building, and a perfect geographic spot to watch auroras at night.

It instantly caught his eye.

Ryuk tapped the button to view the full listing—

The price made him lose control of his breath.

"Price: 1,300,000,000 star coins."

"1... 1.3 billion star coins!? What the fuck!?" Ryuk burst out in shock, but soon quieted down, analyzing the situation in his head.

"I could manage completing 3 mission quests a day, and that’s about a pay of 60,000 Adventurer Points."

"Converted to star coins, that’s about 90 million star coins in a day."

"It’ll take me about 15 days to get up to 1.3 billion."

"That’s two weeks of endless mission completion."

"Found something you like?"

The voice came from behind the sofa as Isha’s face popped up, her silvery gaze wandering curiously to Ryuk’s device, then widening at the sight of the house and its sweeping visuals.

"Wow, that’s pretty."

"Is it yours?" Isha asked as Ryuk’s focused look settled.

"It will be mine soon," he reassured, getting to his feet.

"Where’s Void?" he asked, noticing the small creature licking its tiny paw on the other side of the room.

"What?" it responded, and Ryuk smirked.

"We’re leaving for our first mission. I’ll need you to get back to the pet space, Isha. But you’ll be out the second I get out of this inn."

He reached for the door, Isha vanishing as she returned to the pet space, while Void instantly disappeared and reappeared on Ryuk’s shoulder.

When Ryuk got downstairs, he found the bartender still there, this time flipping through some notes, with a couple of adventurers sitting at the bar.

Thankfully, the woman from yesterday wasn’t around as Ryuk walked over to the bartender.

"Here. I’d like to make payment for Room Number 27 for a week," he said, as the man looked up and reached for his booking screen.

"That will require 35,000 Adventurer Points," he said. Ryuk nodded and passed him his card.

If he wanted to get serious about getting enough money to get himself a home, then it started with making sure his current place in the inn was secured.

Even if it cost 35,000 for a week, it was worth it—so far, it was a place where he could come to rest after long days of work.

The man swiped the card on the scanner, and Ryuk’s device beeped.

A notification for 35,000 points being deducted rang out before the bartender handed the card back.

"Rest assured, your room will be safely yours until your time elapses. Good luck with your first Gate Mission," the man added. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Ryuk gave a nod before walking out of the building.

Once outside, he let Isha out, having already bought her a long-sleeved hoodie shirt and trousers.

She followed his steps, bouncing along as they walked toward the gates while Ryuk signed up for a couple of missions.

As expected, Isha drew some attention—her snow-white skin, whiter than most, a few scales shimmering along the side of her face—but thanks to her human form and loose-fitting clothes, it was easier to walk among people without turning too many heads.

The attention was there, but far less compared to her walking in her former attire.

Ryuk noticed the frost wyvern bubbling with curiosity, gazing here and there.

She hadn’t used to come out very often before, because—just as she said—she was too big and attention-grabbing.

And when she achieved a human form, she remained with the Nagas, who were reclusive from the outside world.

But now, she could walk among humans. And not attract too much attention either.

It all felt like a surreal dream to her, as Ryuk refocused on his phone, signing up for B-rank decisions with the most amount of money.

Ten minutes of walking later, he arrived before the mission ground, where he was met by an official who took his ID card, confirming his request to complete the Gate.

Ryuk stepped into the glowing entrance alone—

And disappeared within.

It was finally time to begin his duty as an Adventurer.
