Abyss Summoner-Chapter 216 - 211: Conspiracy
"Ninth Master, this is the situation..." Mr. Fang, whose face was ashen, stood to one side and recounted the entire ordeal to Hong Jiuling.
Currently, the temperature was not particularly low, yet Hong Jiuling was wrapped in a thick quilt, his hands tucked into his sleeves, and his expression was one of extreme lethargy.
At first glance, he seemed to possess no distinctive qualities.
Indeed, this was the case; like Feng Zhiyong, he had no awakened abilities, his identity merely that of an ordinary person.
It's somewhat fantastical that the leaders of both conservative and war factions are mere mortals.
Achieving such glory in this adversity indicates that both men must be exceptional beings. The former relied on the prestige accumulated during peaceful times, while Hong Jiuling was ruthless, employing any means necessary to achieve his goals, thus acquiring such vast power.
Beside Hong Jiuling were two young girls, kneeling as they tenderly massaged his legs. They wore only a thin layer of gauze, leaving nothing to the imagination.
Most shocking was that, dressed in such clothing, the girls showed no hint of shyness, but rather served Hong Jiuling diligently, as if resigned to their fate.
This twisted relationship seemed to appear only in a crumbling apocalypse.
"Are you saying that you botched it, brought so many people, didn't lift a finger, and just let them walk away?" Hong Jiuling sat in the chair, speaking blandly.
Listening to Hong Jiuling's words, Mr. Fang became somewhat tense and responded truthfully, "Chen Feng's group of five were all experts, and apart from that, there was a little girl with a fierce aura—she looked only seven or eight years old, yet seemed like an Evil Ghost. When she started fighting, I was no match."
Inferior Demon.
Recalling the silhouette of the Inferior Demon still left Mr. Fang with residual fear. To this day, he could not understand how a child could exude such chilling murderous intent, so much so that even Li Chiyu and he were intimidated, unable to strike easily.
"No match?" Hong Jiuling raised his head; Mr. Fang suddenly felt an overwhelming pressure rushing onto him.
Though Hong Jiuling was just an ordinary person, perhaps due to being in a position of power for so long, his pressure was exceedingly strong, causing even Mr. Fang, under the weight of his authority, to close his mouth involuntarily.
However, why would a Silver Peak expert be so subservient to an ordinary person? The secrets behind this remain unknown.
The four masters that the Conservatives feared all appeared utterly loyal in the face of Hong Jiuling. Even Weng Ziqiang, known as the madman, followed his lead.
Weng Ziqiang differed from others, simply put, he was a patient suffering from mania, with the slightest displeasure resulting in a violent rampage. When he raged, friend or foe mattered not—the frenzy could reach a point where he used nearby Warriors as weapons, grabbing their ankles and ruthlessly swinging them. When the battle ended, while the monsters lay dead, the Warriors in his hands would also perish, becoming rigid corpses.
Yet, such a being became docile as a kitten before Hong Jiuling, indicating that perhaps Hong Jiuling truly possessed abilities beyond comprehension.
Mr. Fang was similarly renowned for being unruly, wholly absorbed in his research. But somehow, Hong Jiuling convinced him to serve.
As Mr. Fang's lips moved, about to break the impasse, Hong Jiuling suddenly acted out—grabbing the gun from the table and pressing it against a nearby girl's head.
"Bang!"
The gunshot rang out,
a vibrant life came to an abrupt end, half a head exploded from the gunpowder.
Screams immediately echoed from the other side.
The girl massaging the right leg was shot dead by Hong Jiuling, the distance was so close that a large splash of blood stained Hong Jiuling's face.
Hong Jiuling took a deep breath, seemingly enjoying the scent of beauty's blood in the air, causing the veins on his neck to tense, his eyes foggy with an indescribable exhilaration.
Mr. Fang watched the scene, his whole body seemed to shiver, each thought turning eerie. Though he crafted the Corpse Demon by using humans as a blueprint, he found it difficult to become accustomed to Hong Jiuling's barbaric sacrifices and murders of beauties.
"The most important thing in life is to be able to bend or stretch; one can squeeze a persimmon at will, but if it's a rock, a different approach is needed," Hong Jiuling spoke without any expression.
"What does Ninth Master mean?" Mr. Fang's eyebrows twitched, his body bowed even lower.
"Occupying a city surrounded by experts, everyone underestimates his strength," Hong Jiuling said softly, "We're not at the point of life and death yet; in such a situation, I can compete fairly with Feng Zhiyong. Young men pursue nothing more than two things: women and dignity. Send Luo Yao over to warm Chen Feng's bed tomorrow."
Luo Yao, though not visibly strong, possessed metamorphic abilities, able to transform her appearance to imitate anyone if she wished.
Sometimes a pure and unmatched saint, other times a seductive temptress, she alone held countless changes.
This ability was unheard of, unseen, having her equated to owning countless women; in the past, she was Hong Jiuling's concubine, but to foster goodwill with Chen Feng, Hong Jiuling had no hesitation, promptly offering his own woman.
"Moreover, Feng Zhiyong can host him, so can I. Zhang Xueyuan has some beasts left; slaughter them and prepare a feast to give Chen Feng a way out."
"Is Ninth Master planning to abandon Zhang Xueyuan?" Mr. Fang's body trembled, then asked.
Zhang Xueyuan was the Beast Tamer, relying on his beasts, yet now Hong Jiuling intended to turn Zhang Xueyuan's beasts into food, stripping him of beasts, leaving Zhang Xueyuan as helpless as a tiger without teeth, entirely at others' mercy.
"It's a crucial time; I don't want anything affecting the plan. Chen Feng is an anomaly; stabilize him first. If sacrificing Zhang Xueyuan can bring us stability, there's no reason to hesitate," Hong Jiuling tucked his hands further into his sleeves, as if extremely cold: "It's up to you to handle this affair impeccably."
Mr. Fang nodded, turned, and shut the door behind him.
Hong Jiuling hunched in his quilt, stared at the closed door, and abruptly, an eerie red glow flashed across his vision.
The corpse on the ground, the blood on his face, the red light in his eyes.
At that moment, Hong Jiuling reflected in these scenes resembled a bloodthirsty beast, showing no mercy, no humanity...
