Accidentally Yours, My Super Rich Second Husband-Chapter 248: Love Eternal
One month later
Delphinia sat in the bride’s waiting room, her hands resting lightly on the folds of her gown. The fabric was soft against her fingertips, delicate lace trailing over her wrists. A deep breath rose in her chest, excitement and nerves intertwining in the pit of her stomach. She was getting married—again, but this time, not out of convenience, not for obligation. This time, it was out of love.
"Oh my God, Delphinia!" Valerie’s voice cut through the air as she clasped her hands together in delight. "You look absolutely breathtaking!"
Delphinia turned, meeting Valerie’s wide, sparkling eyes in the mirror. A small smile played on her lips. "You really think so?"
"Think so? I know so! Evander is going to lose his mind when he sees you walking down that aisle." Valerie leaned forward, adjusting a few strands of Delphinia’s hair. "You’re glowing."
Delphinia laughed softly. Maybe she was glowing. Maybe it was happiness. Maybe it was the relief of knowing that, despite everything, she had made it to this moment. A love that had started in uncertainty had now become her greatest certainty.
A gentle knock on the door made them both turn. "It’s time," came the voice of the wedding coordinator.
Delphinia stood, smoothing down the front of her gown, and took a deep breath. Her heart pounded as she followed Valerie out of the room, each step bringing her closer to the moment she had once thought impossible.
The doors opened.
A warm golden glow filled the room as sunlight streamed through the high windows, casting a heavenly radiance over everything. The guests stood, turning to face her, but Delphinia barely noticed them. Her gaze was locked on one person.
Evander stood at the end of the aisle, waiting for her. His usual composed expression softened into something almost reverent as his lips parted slightly. His eyes, dark yet endlessly warm, held hers as if he could feel every beat of her heart through the distance between them. He looked... awestruck.
Victor, standing beside her, gently offered his arm. "Shall we?"
Delphinia nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat, and took her father-in-law’s arm. Step by step, she moved forward, her heart pounding with every stride. Every step felt surreal, like she was floating rather than walking. As she neared the altar, she saw the slightest shake of Evander’s hands, the way his Adam’s apple bobbed when he swallowed. It was rare to see him shaken, but today, he was.
When she finally reached him, Evander extended his hand. She placed hers in his, and the warmth of his touch melted away any lingering nerves.
The officiant began speaking, but Delphinia barely heard the words. All she could focus on was the way Evander’s thumb brushed lightly over her knuckles, as if grounding her, as if reminding her that this was real.
"Do you, Evander Walton, take Delphinia Harrington to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do." His voice was firm, filled with conviction.
"And do you, Delphinia Harrington, take Evander Walton to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
She met his gaze, her heart overflowing. "I do."
They exchanged rings, their hands steady, their fingers intertwining as the gold bands slid into place. The promise between them, one forged through trials and love, was now sealed.
"You may kiss the bride."
Evander didn’t hesitate. His hands cupped her face gently as he leaned in, pressing his lips to hers in a kiss that was soft, lingering, and filled with unspoken promises. The cheers of the guests faded as all she felt was *him*. His warmth, his love, his everything.
When they finally pulled apart, Evander’s forehead rested against hers for a brief moment. "I love you," he murmured, for the second time in his life. The first was on the beach, but here, in front of the world, it was a vow.
Delphinia smiled, her eyes glistening. "I love you too."
Ashton suddenly popped up between them, tugging at Evander’s sleeve. "Can I get a kiss too?"
Both Evander and Delphinia laughed, turning to their son. Delphinia crouched to his level and ruffled his hair. "Of course, silly."
Evander placed a hand on Ashton’s shoulder, nodding. "We love you, Ash."
The little boy grinned before throwing his arms around both of them, pulling them into a hug that made Delphinia’s heart swell.
Delphinia stepped back from the embrace with Ashton, her heart still swelling with the warmth of the moment. She looked around, taking in the faces of those who had gathered for this special day. Her heart fluttered as she noticed Valerie, who had surprisingly shown up with Gion.
The two of them were standing a bit apart from the crowd, and Delphinia couldn’t help but notice the subtle closeness between them. There was something different in the way Gion was looking at Valerie—softer, almost more affectionate than before. Guess things have started between those two, she thought with a smile.
Delphinia noticed Lydia and Cedric a few feet away. She remembered the conversation she’d had with Cedric earlier in the waiting room, where he had apologized to her. Now, seeing them together, it was clear that Cedric’s words had been sincere. He stood a little closer to Lydia than usual, a subtle sign that their relationship was shifting in a positive direction. Delphinia was happy for them, feeling relieved that things seemed to be smoothing out between the two.
From the corner of her eye, Delphinia spotted Lyvia making her way toward her. Her sister gave her a quick wave before stepping back, scanning the crowd. Lyvia’s eyes held a mix of emotions—relief, sadness—but also a hint of appreciation for being present. Their father’s condition still weighed on her, but Lyvia had made the effort to be there.
As they turned to walk back down the aisle together, she glanced up at Evander, her fingers entwined with his.
She had her happy ending.
And she hoped, from the bottom of her heart, that everyone she loved would find theirs too.
