Accidenttal One Night Stand with My Aloof Uncle-Chapter 681 - 691: The Strange Scar
"This question..."
Jodie Cooper raised her eyebrows, her expression somewhat ambiguous.
After a while, she laughed, "I have thought about this issue before. I came to a conclusion after thinking it over."
"What conclusion?" Chloe Grant pressed on.
Jodie calmly replied, "If that person was just your boyfriend, I would definitely tell you. But if you’re already married and you think he’s treating you well, then I won’t say anything.
I would only warn him privately. If he wants to come back, then I’ll pretend this secret died with me, and it’ll rot in my heart."
"Is there a difference between being married and not? Isn’t cheating still cheating?" Chloe frowned, clearly not in full agreement.
"There’s a huge difference!" Jodie rolled her eyes at her, "If it’s just a boyfriend, then you can break up. But marriage is different, with kids and so many other ties.
Moreover, I always believed that a person can’t truly love only one person for their entire life. An occasional lapse or mistake can be forgiven."
"I don’t think it’s forgivable," Chloe shook her head, expressing her opposing view, "I feel if cheating can be forgiven, then there was no need to marry in the first place.
Marriage is about the belief of spending your life with that person. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
This isn’t about love, it’s about responsibility."
Chloe was getting worked up, wanting to continue, but as soon as she started speaking, she closed her mouth.
Jodie raised an eyebrow, "Why did you stop?"
"I just think there’s no need to argue further about this. It’s just a difference in views, there’s no right or wrong."
Chloe and Jodie have different perspectives because of their different upbringings and education.
But they are such good friends because when faced with differing opinions, they don’t insist on debating to a conclusion.
Even if they disagree with each other’s views, they don’t assume the other’s view is entirely wrong.
"Yeah, it’s just a different way of thinking, no right or wrong. So, when we encounter these things, we should handle them the way we think is best," Jodie said, also reminding Chloe.
If it were Jodie herself, she would handle a friend’s infidelity as she mentioned.
And if it were Chloe herself, she shouldn’t hesitate and should follow her own views.
"Alright, go to sleep," Jodie patted Chloe’s arm and then stood up.
As she tied her long hair, she walked toward the bathroom.
Reaching the doorway, Jodie suddenly remembered something and turned back, "Chloe, I’ve scheduled a consultation with the doctor tomorrow about the scar removal surgery, do you want to come with me?"
Chloe, who was about to lie down, sat up again upon hearing Jodie’s words, her hair messy, "Scar removal? Have you decided to go through with it?"
"Of course, why would I keep the scar otherwise?" Jodie rolled her eyes at her.
She rolled up her sleeve, revealing a ten-centimeter scar on her arm, indicating that the original wound was quite deep.
This scar was from two years ago in country A, when Jodie was caught in a robbery by a black man at a store, fighting to keep a bracelet her grandmother had given her, resulting in this knife scar.
Chloe only found out about it a year after it happened, feeling both worried and angry at the time.
"I’ll go with you tomorrow then."
Chloe said this because she was well aware that Jodie was afraid of surgery, even small procedures.
"So, do you want to join me and get that thing on your waist removed?"
