Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Handsome Man Emerging from the Bath

When Zane carried her back, he answered a call.

Sophia first took her clothes to the bathroom to take a shower. When he finished the call and wanted to enter the bathroom, he found the bathroom door was locked from the inside.

He couldn’t help but chuckle, looking at the tightly closed door, with the sound of running water inside, he found it quite amusing.

Last time in the bathroom, she simply couldn’t hold on.

The man behind seemed deaf, completely oblivious to others speaking.

Sophia saw the shadow approaching the bathroom door, her face blushed.

She didn’t say a word and continued her shower.

She couldn’t be bothered to care.

Zane returned to the cloakroom, took out some clothes, and quietly waited in the room.

By the time Sophia came out, half an hour had passed. She had washed her hair but hadn’t had time to blow-dry it.

Zane walked over, his dark eyes falling on her sensual black lace camisole dress.

The nightgown was satin, somewhat shiny, sophisticated and alluring, with delicate shoulder straps that looked as though they might snap with a gentle pull.

This one, not quite sheer.

"Don’t catch a cold. Come, let me dry your hair." Zane took her hand, bringing her to sit by the bed.

Sophia obediently complied. For these days, he had been helping her dry her hair; she seemed to have gotten used to being pampered by this man. If he went on a business trip for a month, she wondered if she could adapt.

Zane picked up the hair dryer, skillfully drying her hair.

Sophia was preoccupied with thoughts of his business trips, distracted.

Having blow-dried her hair several times, he was deft, both drying and straightening her hair, his slightly rough fingers brushing against her neck and shoulders, her smooth round shoulders tingling with heat, burning her skin.

Today, while drying her hair, he was somewhat careless, occasionally passing over her chest.

Her earlobes turned a crimson so deep it seemed they might bleed.

Zane looked down at her, a slight smile playing on his lips.

The warm breeze from the hairdryer cascaded down, blowing open her smooth clothes, revealing everything beneath.

His dark pupils dilated infinitely.

At this moment, it wasn’t just his pupils that had expanded.

Zane stood beside her, one knee resting against her leg, the other kneeled on the bed, diligently drying her hair, seemingly unfazed by any impropriety.

"If you don’t want to wash and dry your hair, I can have someone come over to do it for you; you shouldn’t catch a cold from running around without drying it. I’d feel bad." His hoarse voice drew closer.

"Okay."

Sophia sat quietly, her heart racing wildly.

Did he mean it?

Sophia slightly turned her head, noticing the curve growing more obvious.

Zane picked up her side hair, gently blow-drying, tightening where he brushed against her arm.

Once her hair was half dry, he turned off the dryer, unplugged it, and turned off the light.

Zane took her hand.

"Why don’t you take a shower first..." She withdrew her hand, trying to push away the man wedged between her knees.

"Wait a moment..."

He was a bit hasty, his thumb grazing her full lips, clutching her chin.

He knelt down, under the faint moonlight, looking at her lips, and kissed her gently.

"Zane..." she whispered his name from the corner of her lips.

"Yes, I’m here..."

A low and broken voice squeezed through the space between them.

Raspy, as if paper being scratched by gravel.

Zane knew how to pick clothes for her. The nightgowns in the wardrobe were as thin as air, silky smooth, transmitting warmth from the hand unabashedly.

His hands, feverish, swept over every inch of her skin.

"Go shower first—" Sophia pushed him away.

Zane regained slight composure, somewhat reproachful: "Who told you to waste water..."

"..." Sophia took the chance to retreat onto the bed.

Showering together wastes even more water; it could stay on for over half an hour...

Who knows what he’s scheming.

Zane gently tugged at her ankle, pulling her towards him, causing Sophia to fall back on the bed from inertia.

He leaned over, hands on either side of her, looking down at the woman flushed with embarrassment.

"If you don’t go now, I’ll get mad." She pouted, frowning.

In this hot summer, she’d just sweated from a walk outside, and now she was drenched again; the day’s scent lingered on her, and she wasn’t pleased.

Zane usually wasn’t like this; he’d always shower first no matter what.

He chuckled, gently brushing her cheek, his seductive voice ringing in her eardrums.

"Wait for me..."

"..."

She swallowed hard, making no sound.

While Zane went to the bathroom, Hugh sent her a message.

It was a picture, and upon opening it, she froze for two seconds. It was so sudden she hurriedly called Hugh.

"Are you with Ethan?" Sophia’s tone was heavy with skepticism.

"Isn’t it obvious?" Hugh, holding a document, laughed: "We’re not married anyway; we’ll try it out. If it doesn’t work, we move on; seize the day. I asked Nathan to send it to me."

"Just wondering how you suddenly made such a decision; didn’t you dislike being constrained?"

"I find it strange too, but it seems I can’t help it with Ethan. I want to try."

Hugh pouted, watching the man cooking shirtless in the kitchen.

Over the phone, Sophia chuckled; perhaps the agreement wasn’t a constraint, but a way to give herself a way out.

She must indeed like Ethan; otherwise, she wouldn’t give him this chance. As smart as Ethan is, with this agreement, is there any doubt Hugh won’t be his?

"Follow your heart, Hugh." Zane once said this to her.

Today, Sophia said it to Hugh.

Ethan is a good choice.

After hanging up, Zane came out from the bathroom too, freshly showered.

He was draped with just a towel.

With droplets in his hair, it looked as if it hadn’t been dried.

Pearl-sized water droplets slid down his body, over his chest, along the defined contours, finally disappearing beneath the towel.

The veins coiled and twisted around the edges of the towel.

No one could have guessed that someone so refined and dignified in appearance could exhibit such unrestrained abandon behind closed doors.

This was precisely a scene of a handsome man stepping out of the bath.

Sophia’s gaze lingered on him, unmoving.

The man lifted his gaze and smiled, glancing at her, "Wipe that drool, you’re flooding the floor."

Upon hearing this, Sophia snapped back, blushing with embarrassment. How easily her soul was captivated by his beauty!

What a sin.

But she had to admit, the man’s striking visage and muscular build were incredibly pleasing to the eye.

"Narcissist." Sophia murmured. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"Pfft... " Zane chuckled.

Zane didn’t call her out. He knew what Sophia liked.

Sophia touched her cheek, burning hot; even with the air conditioning on low, it couldn’t dispel the heat from her body.
