Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Actually, I Don’t Mind at All Anymore

Natalie Vaughn rushed straight to Zane Thorne as soon as she returned, throwing herself into his arms, her hands wrapped around his neck, her eyebrows lifted high.

"Did you see it?"

Zane embraced her waist and spun her around in a circle.

"I saw it. You’re amazing."

Natalie let out a shriek, then laughed even brighter. Her beautiful eyes formed perfect crescents, her mouth curving into a wide smile, and her hair danced behind her in the air.

She lowered her head, resting her forehead against Zane’s, her nose slightly rubbing against his.

"Of course, as long as I want to learn, I can definitely do it."

Zane leaned in and gave her a kiss, holding Natalie as she effortlessly lifted her legs, wrapping them around his waist.

"Who taught you?"

"Jennings and Quentin Donovan."

"Why not ask me?"

"I wanted to surprise you. Do you like it?"

"I love it."

Natalie then leaned down and playfully nipped at his nose before raising her eyebrows with a hum.

"See, I’m pretty good at riding a motorcycle too."

Though she’s not great with four-wheelers, everyone has their weak spots. She simply isn’t good at driving cars, but that doesn’t mean she’s bad with all vehicles.

The people who had just returned from the mountain were stunned, taken aback by how the previously intense person became so delicate in Zane’s arms.

Zane patted Natalie’s waist, and she let her legs down, coming off of him. She adjusted her hair and noticed a shell-shocked Jennings standing nearby. Remembering Jennings’s reaction upon seeing Zane before setting off, Natalie was curious.

"What were you guys talking about?"

Zane’s eyebrows twitched, but he didn’t speak. What else could they have talked about? That kid looked at him like seeing a ghost, speaking hesitantly, blushing furiously, and even saying he idolized him.

Jennings, thinking of how much Zane liked Natalie’s demeanor, clenched his hand at his side, secretly making up his mind.

"We were just talking about how amazing you are."

What were they discussing about her instead of contracts? Natalie raised an eyebrow and looked at Zane, and he raised his hand to stroke her head.

"Indeed, you are amazing."

Jennings quickly added, "God Thorne was praising your intelligence all the time."

Natalie didn’t expect Zane to be such a chatterbox in front of others, all talking about her. She elbowed Zane playfully.

"Aren’t you quite proud to have a wife like me?"

Zane nodded, raising his hand to touch his chest. Natalie was wearing protective gear, and that jab actually hurt a bit. Zane started helping Natalie take the gear off, and she let him.

She turned her attention to Jennings, recalling what Shannon Rhodes had said, and directly asked, "Do you want to join ROX?"

Jennings’s eyes widened immediately, and he glanced quickly at Zane, but the latter’s attention was solely on Natalie, not noticing him at all. Natalie, however, was adept at reading people’s emotions, and seeing Jennings’s reaction, she laughed.

"Just tell me if you want to join. If you say yes, ROX will contact your current club."

If she wasn’t mistaken, Jennings, being such a talent, wouldn’t be easily let go by his club, and handling the contracts would require professionals.

Jennings looked at Natalie, sensing that she seemed to have the final say in ROX matters because Zane was willing to let her decide.

"I do want to."

From the beginning, his desire was to follow Zane.

An expected answer, Natalie didn’t quite understand Jennings’s cautiousness around Zane, but she could see that this kid idolized her man.

Thinking of this, Natalie poked Zane’s chest again.

"I found you a great talent, aren’t you happy?"

Zane finally removed all her protective gear, then he held Natalie’s hand and said, "Happy."

Jennings was overjoyed, so happy that he didn’t know how to react. The words Natalie said next made him even happier and lost.

"You wouldn’t know, but he’s mentioned you many times to me."

Though a bit exaggerated, Natalie indeed noticed Zane’s admiration for Jennings. She believed that such a promising talent was something Zane would want to nurture himself.

Being hailed as the second ’Zane Thorne’, Jennings joining Zane’s club would undoubtedly stir up discussions once it got out.

Jennings was ecstatic, his eyes full of passion, even Zane couldn’t remain indifferent to such a gaze. After all, he was once like that, young and passionate.

He looked at Jennings. "Leave the contract matters to ROX. Report to the club after the New Year and prepare well for the match in March."

Jennings clenched his fists. "Okay."

After chatting for so long, Natalie noticed that Quentin Donovan and Shannon Rhodes hadn’t returned yet.

"They’re both faster than me, why haven’t they come down the mountain yet?"

Natalie looked at Zane. "Did you see them on the screen?"

Zane shook his head. Of course, he’d been watching his wife. Why look at others?

"They’re grown-ups; they won’t get into trouble."

Indeed, they won’t get into trouble. But Quentin Donovan and Shannon Rhodes together might be another story.

Quentin Donovan, known for his flamboyance, once pursued Shannon, something Zane surely knew. Natalie, linking her arm with Zane’s, looked up at the sparse stars in the night sky.

"Do you think there’s a chance for them?"

Zane didn’t answer.

Natalie felt she was putting Zane in a tough spot with her question. She reached out to poke his waist.

"Actually, I don’t mind at all."

Back then, it was Shannon’s persistence that made Zane consider her feelings, as a favor to her brother.

Zane wouldn’t believe Natalie’s words. If she really didn’t mind, she wouldn’t have been so adamant about learning to ride a motorcycle.

"Want to know how I agreed to her?"

Natalie: ...

Is there something wrong with Zane? She said she didn’t mind, so why bring up their past again? Yet...she’s really curious how he agreed to it, knowing that Zane wouldn’t entertain someone he didn’t like.

Natalie grumbled softly. "Oh, then tell me, how did you agree to her?"

Then she became a bit angry, her teeth gritting.

"You better answer carefully."

Zane laughed, grabbing Natalie’s hand messing around at his waist, bringing it to his lips for a kiss. He promised not to mind, but now she’s threatening him again, quite the contrary little girl.

It wasn’t much to tell. Back then, Shannon was overly infatuated, always tagging along under the guise of training together, joining their trips, meals, and outings. Zane explicitly said he didn’t like her, but Shannon was too young and single-minded, relentlessly pursuing him despite his words.

Even Miles Rhodes heard about it and privately told Zane he should let Shannon go if he didn’t like her, to let her give up soon. Zane felt rebellious; why should he bear the burden of someone else’s affection?

So, he casually agreed to Shannon’s confession, which she never expected him to accept. Since she was so clear that he didn’t like her yet persisted, it was better to let her succeed so she could finally let go.

Thus, awakening her.

As things played out, just as Zane thought, after enduring the coldness following three months of being labeled as his girlfriend, Shannon realized that love couldn’t be forced. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

After hearing all of this, Natalie sighed and said, "Scumbag."

Zane: ...
