Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 303: The Starry Sky Is Always the Most Romantic
Obviously, no matter where you’re from, once you have a stereotype, you’ll always believe it. No matter what Natalie Vaughn said, Bartery still believed that she was returning home because of Zane Thorne.
Natalie couldn’t be bothered to argue; no matter what he thought, she was determined to return home.
Zane wasn’t upset by Bartery’s earlier actions. Instead, seeing how much Bartery valued Natalie, he respectfully poured Bartery a cup of tea.
Bartery liked Cinnabar culture and knew a bit about tea culture. Considering Zane’s performance in class earlier, it seemed too harsh to continue acting stern.
One was a master in the fashion world, the other a prominent figure in the racing world. At first glance, there seemed to be no intersection or common topics.
But the truth was the exact opposite. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
They did have an intersection.
The day before the race in August, which was Zane Thorne’s first comeback race, there was a show related to cars.
And half of the clothes the models wore were his work, the other half were creations by students he taught.
Recently, Natalie had been busy with her own matters and had no idea about this event.
However, their conversation was limited to a simple understanding of each other’s field, and the meeting lasted no more than two hours.
After that, they embarked on a short two-day trip.
Natalie was quite excited; if not for the seatbelt, she would have waved her hands and feet in excitement.
"Where are you planning to take me?"
Zane feigned mystery.
"You’ll know when we get there."
"You can’t tell me now?"
Zane shook his head.
Natalie let it go. When they reached the airport, she asked, somewhat surprised.
"We still need to fly? Do you have enough time?"
Zane lifted his hand and messed up her hair, showing a hint of playful satisfaction.
"There’s always time for you."
Natalie hesitated a bit.
She knew better than anyone how tightly scheduled Zane’s training was.
Zane raised an eyebrow: "Are you afraid I’m going to sell you off or something?"
That wasn’t it.
Natalie turned her gaze away. Since Zane had everything arranged, why should she worry?
...
Castermere, a place brimming with art and culture, with bars scattered across its streets and alleys.
Natalie thought this was their destination. She didn’t expect that right after exiting the airport, a car would stop in front of them.
Soon, someone got out, loaded their luggage into the car, bowed, and then left.
Natalie looked at the car with a vintage charm, feeling stirred.
"Where are we going?"
This was the first time the two traveled together, even the first time they had a private outing.
She thought Zane was just casually taking her around, but the plans were surprisingly meticulous.
It seemed the place they were going was quite special.
This time, Zane didn’t pretend to be mysterious.
"Luss Village."
Natalie’s eyebrows moved slightly.
She’d heard of it.
"Lake Vesperia?"
Lake Vesperia is renowned as the gentlest lake in the Highlands.
Luss Village is famously like a fairy tale world. The quaint village is filled with exquisitely decorated gardens, flowers, and dolls adorning every household.
Zane pinched the tip of Natalie’s nose.
"So clever?"
Natalie wrinkled her nose playfully.
"Do you also have a house there?"
Hearing this, Zane thoughtfully considered it.
"If you like it, we can buy a place."
Natalie: ...
That’s unnecessary; though she wasn’t lacking money, buying a house in a Brythania village wasn’t needed.
Yet Zane was seriously contemplating the idea.
Bartery wasn’t wrong about one thing: even if Natalie returned to Cinnabar, as long as she worked in the fashion industry, she’d inevitably engage internationally and worldly.
Buying a house here wasn’t out of the question.
Zane was pondering while Natalie eagerly got into the car. Seeing her happy as a child, a missing piece in Zane’s heart was filled.
He had felt that he owed Natalie something but couldn’t figure out what it was.
It wasn’t until he accompanied her to school, took her out to play, and saw her smile at that moment that he understood.
His little girl still had the air of a student. Her demeanor was so mature and sensible that being with her was comfortably pleasant, so much so he’d forgotten she was a young girl.
He could bring her happiness in a more relaxed way.
Not materially.
Not through cars, houses, or jewelry.
Just through simple companionship.
Seeing Natalie’s smile, the satisfaction in Zane’s heart was beyond words. He got into the car and couldn’t help but remind her.
"Haven’t you been enjoying vlogging lately? Aren’t you planning to film this trip?"
Natalie straightened up.
"Oh right! Thanks for the reminder!"
Watching her eagerly take out the camera, ready to capture everything, made Zane’s smile widen.
He’d always liked the lively side of Natalie.
Now, he liked this playful, adorable side of her even more.
Throughout the journey, whatever Natalie wanted to do, Zane was extremely cooperative, even willing to make funny faces with her for photos.
The trip lasted merely an hour, yet because of the joy, it felt exceptionally short.
As night fell, the village lay peaceful and picturesque.
Though the village’s scenery wasn’t clear, its unique tranquility enveloped them as soon as they arrived.
Inside the house, Natalie casually placed the camera on the counter, then quietly stood by the window, enjoying the breeze and peace.
Zane brought in the luggage, instinctively quieting his steps when he saw her by the window.
He hugged Natalie from behind, and she leaned her head against him, playing with his fingers.
"It’s beautiful."
"Do you like it?"
Natalie nodded without hesitation.
"I like it."
She could feel the thrill amidst the noise and tenderness in the tranquility.
"Wanna go to the attic to watch the stars?"
Natalie’s eyes lit up.
"There’s an attic too?"
Zane chuckled softly, leading her up to the attic.
With each step, a new light would shine.
Natalie looked at Zane in amazement, only to see him with a proud expression.
Turns out he had meticulously planned this.
This lighted staircase seemed like a path meant for just the two of them, leading them to another world.
And it was another world.
This attic was uniquely captivating.
Almost entirely illuminated by warm yellow lights.
Natalie saw a carpet spread on the floor with a small table, and on it, a jug of wine.
It seemed to be locally brewed.
The attic window was already open.
The night sky was full of stars.
Watching the stars has become a cliché date activity chosen by many people.
But not really.
The starry sky is always the most romantic.
Because the person beside you is the one you love.
