Adventurer's Guild Café: I Was Wrongfully Exiled by the Saint, So I Will Enjoy My Second Life with My Fluffy Friends-V2.1 Prologue Part 3 - The Morning of Beginnings
──A bud, infused with pale light, slowly bloomed. That single flower, in its dazzling golden hue, was so radiant that even the darkness of night seemed to fade away.
My mother and I, still a child, sat side by side in the corner of the garden, quietly watching the flower. When I happened to look up at my mother’s face, I saw the newly bloomed, glowing flower reflected in her golden eyes.
“Mama, your eyes look just like this flower.”
I smiled as I said that, but for some reason, my mother returned my smile with a slightly wistful expression.
“Kuna, do you know the name of this flower?”
“Umm, I don’t. What’s the pretty flower called?”

When I asked, my mother slowly parted her lips.
The name of this flower is—
Riiiiing.
The sound of my alarm clock’s bell rang, and I woke up.
“Mmm…?”
I had a deeply nostalgic dream. It was just a dream, but seeing my mother’s face after so long made me feel happy. Yet, it felt like I had woken up at a crucial moment. What was my mother about to say…?
…Wait—w-why is it so unbearably hot…?
The season was already summer. Maybe I had sweated in my sleep because of the heat.
As I thought about it and opened my eyes, a tuft of pink, fluffy fur filled my vision.
“…Lulu?”
Frowning, I peeled the pink fluff off my face.
“Rooon…?”
The pink fluffy fur... or rather, the Carbuncle, Lulu, sleepily blinked at me.
“You’ve gotten heavier since you evolved. If you sleep on my face, I’ll suffocate, you know?”
“Ruu.”
“And you guys, be careful not to get squished by me, okay?”
I gathered up the three small, fluffy chicks that had been sleeping all over my bed and placed them in a basket under it. These chicks all had proper names—Pipi for the pink one, Lili for the yellow one, and Lala for the blue one. They weren’t actually chicks but a type of dungeon-dwelling spirit called Mokomotts. For some reason, they refused to leave my side, and now they lived with me in my room.
As I stroked Lulu on my lap, I gradually woke up. I was curious about the continuation of my dream, but right now, I had to focus on reality—because I had things to do.
I got out of bed and threw open the window.
“...Yeah. It’s a beautiful day again.”
Beyond the window, an expansive city stretched out before me. In the distance, I could see a massive pit—an enigmatic cavern unique to the country of Grantania, known as the “Dungeon.”
This was the city of adventures and dungeons—Finaldatt.
“Good. I’m still here today, just like always.”
Bathed in the bright sunlight, I stretched my arms high.
♦
My name is Kuna Leiria. I am a fifteen-year-old White Wolfkin with wolf ears and a tail. However, I no longer use the surname Leilia. Now, I simply go by Kuna and live in this country, Grantania.
When I lived in my homeland, Aluda, I was oppressed by my family and suffered from demi-human discrimination. It wasn’t a pleasant time. But now, I have been taken in by the Adventurer’s Guild, Shield of the Silver Wolf King, and I work happily at the café Silver Ribbon inside the guild, leading a fulfilling life.
Every day brings its challenges, but I’ve formed connections with so many people, and right now, I feel truly happy.
Well... I’ve also been caught up in a Mokomott explosion and nearly ended up as a victim of human trafficking... so there have been plenty of troubles too.
But in the end, I met Pipi and the others, and my bonds with my guildmates have deepened, so I don’t dwell on it anymore. From now on, even if it’s little by little, I want to change the version of myself that always kept looking down.
Over my light blue dress, I put on an apron embroidered with a ribbon emblem.
At my collar, I fastened a blue brooch engraved with the profile of a wolf—the guild’s staff badge.
“Alright.”
I tugged at the ribbon at my collar, checked my hair for any messiness, and with that, my preparations for work were complete.
“You guys, how long are you going to keep eating? We’re leaving now!”
I call over Lulu and the others, who were devouring their breakfast in the kitchen. Lulu comes running toward me with a piece of toast in her mouth. The Mokomotts also each have something in their mouths as they flutter over with little chirps.
“Alright, let’s go.”
“Ruu!”
“Piyo!”
With the four of them in tow, I head to the adventurer guild’s café once again today.
And once work begins, I’ll cheerfully say—
“Welcome! Adventurer Guild’s Café, Silver Ribbon! We’re glad to have you!”
—just like that.
