Affinity: Chaos-Chapter 1543 Who Are You Two?
"Going somewhere?" Grey looked at the sick lady.
"No, we just wanted to make sure we're away from them." The sick lady was the one who spoke up.
Klaus looked at her coldly, he felt she knew a thing or two, if not, she wouldn't be speaking to the cloaked lady.
"We'll need to talk to you, send her out." Grey said calmly.
"What do you mean send her out?" The young lady flared, "She's my mother, and whatever you want to say, say it in front of me."
"I'm sorry, but it's for your own good." The sick lady said and the young lady vanished.
Grey was stunned at the lady's control of the space element. It was almost on the same level as the bunny leader and Void. But he didn't show his surprise.
The fact that the sick lady was better than him showed just how freakish Void, and then the bunny leader were.
The bunny leader was superior to Void in terms of manipulating space. Even Void is better than Grey. Yet this lady was also superior to him. This showed that he was a little lacking in the space element.
'I'll tell the bunny to teach me.' Grey thought internally. He didn't want to learn under Void for reasons best known to him. Void was a violent cat, and always tries to take advantage whenever he's on top. He didn't want to go through this again.
The bunny leader didn't like fighting, and would only use the bunnies under it to fight. So Grey felt safer training with it.
"Why are you working with the Gnomes?" He asked since the young lady was no longer present in the room.
"They promised me a better life for me, and now my daughter." The sick lady explained, "I don't think I can refuse that, especially after her father's death."
Grey looked at the lady. He understood what she was saying, but he didn't completely buy it. This was someone who could make a deal with the Gnomes, the enemies of the human race. The fact that she could do something like this showed that she wasn't that simple, at least, she had an idea of whatever was happening.
"You know you're working for the Gnomes, right?" Grey asked.
"Yes, but it's not like I can reject it." The lady replied, "At the time they came to me, I was only in the Sage Plane, and pregnant as well."
"They didn't want to draw any suspicion, so they let me stay with my husband. After I gave birth, my husband disappeared without any traces. I know they're the ones behind it, but there's nothing I can do."
Grey and Klaus listened to the sick lady's story. Of course, they didn't believe everything she said since she would naturally say things in her favor, but they felt a bit of pity for her.
"What did she tell you when she came?" Grey asked.
"She's saying something about my time of being useful finally coming. According to what she said, I'll be free from them after this." The sick lady explained.
"Do you know what your use is?" Grey asked.
"They want me to create a tunnel for them that leads to the Gnome world." The lady explained.
"That's what you're told?" Grey asked, and saw the woman nod.
"And you believe them?" He couldn't help but ask.
For someone the sick lady's age, he felt she should be smarter than this.
"No, but like I said, I didn't have a choice." The sick lady said, "Do you expect a Sage to fight against a Sovereign?"
"I see." Grey didn't argue with her.
From her words, it looked like she didn't know her use. However, she wanted to work with the Gnomes which Grey didn't take kindly of. He felt anyone willing to work with the Gnomes was a traitor to humanity.
The sick lady saw Grey's gaze and asked, "Did they have something else planned?"
"You're a vessel that would've held over a thousand Gnomes." Grey explained.
"What?!"
"They want to use you as a form of transportation, just that you won't be aware of the parasites you're carrying." Klaus was the one who spoke up.
"How's that possible?" The sick lady didn't believe the duo, "I know Gnomes are small, but not to the level that a thousand will be able to stay inside me."
"Who said you'll be alive?" Klaus asked, his eyes showing the lady that he was serious.
"What?"
"They'll kill you and use your body however they want." Grey explained, "From what I can tell, they wanted you to grow to the level they wanted."
"That's impossible."
The sick lady was finding it hard to believe.
"You believe the Necromancers wouldn't lie to you?" Grey asked, his expression different from before.
"I didn't know it would be to this extent." The sick lady said.
Grey didn't know what to say to the sick lady. The fact that she could believe the Gnomes who didn't think much about human lives would expect something more from her showed that she didn't understand the Gnomes.
"They want you dead." Klaus elucidated, in case the lady didn't know what Grey was trying to say.
The lady looked at Klaus, but then at Grey once again.
"That shouldn't be allowed to happen." She said.
"Naturally, that's why we came to you." Grey said.
"Oh." The lady seemed to understand what they wanted.
"Can I speak to my daughter one more time?" She asked.
"Your daughter?" Grey raised a brow, a little confused.
"Yes." The lady nodded, "At least before I go."
"To where?" Klaus couldn't help but ask. He was just as surprised as Grey.
"You're not going to kill me?" The lady asked.
"Why should we?" Grey asked.
"Keeping me alive means I'm still of use to the Gnomes." The lady said.
"I know where you'll be safe. Well, it should be safe." Grey said.
"Who are you two?"
"Klaus Ealdian."
"Grey Dawson."
'The two top geniuses in the Aurora Continent.'
The lady was stunned at the identity of the duo.
