Affinity: Chaos-Chapter 1833: Powerful Technique
The moment Grey entered a meditative state, he cut off himself from the outside world. This was a crucial moment in his cultivation path and he didn't dare to be negligent.
In the blink of an eye, Grey had been staying indoors for over a month.
Inside the cultivation chamber Grey was residing in. His motionless body could be seen. Void and the bunny leader were both resting by the side peacefully, seemingly sleeping.
Grey, who hasn't made any movements over the past month opened his eyes, looking around he saw Void and the bunny leader staring at him. The duo might've looked like they were sleeping a few seconds ago, but the entire room and even most of the Manor was within their senses and control. If anyone had dared to come here with malicious intentions, they were bound to end up dead. Fortunately, no one came to disturb them during the past month or so.
"How long has it been?" Grey asked as soon as he regained his bearings.
"About a month and half." Void replied.
Grey nodded and stood up, the aura from his body spread out. He wasn't a Seventh stage Sovereign yet, however, his aura was much more fierce compared to when he fought against the Elemental Warrior. In a few days, he was confident that he would break through to the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane, this is the reason he stopped his cultivation session. Due to causing a scene most of the time while breaking through, Grey has developed a habit of breaking through in secret places where he didn't need to worry about anything going wrong.
Although he was safe here, he didn't know what commotion might arise if he breaks through here. If he attracts anyone or anything while breaking through, he might implicate this branch Family which will make things complicated for himself. To avoid unnecessary trouble, he chose to leave after sensing he was close to breaking through.
Before leaving, he first needed to visit City Lord Vaughn for his share of the loot! This was the reason he followed him here to begin with.
His powerful spiritual sense spread out with him in the center, quickly enveloping most of the Manor. It wasn't hard for Grey to locate City Lord Vaughn.
In another cultivation chamber, the figure of City Lord Vaughn and Lord Harry could be seen sitting opposite each other. The duo were in the middle of a conversation when City Lord Vaughn suddenly paused and frowned.
Noticing the change in his expression, Lord Harry asked hurriedly, "Did something happen?"
It has been over a month, and they were not fully healed. Nonetheless, Lord Harry's broken legs and arm looked as good as new.
"It's nothing, I thought I felt someone spying on us." City Lord Vaughn explained with an expression of doubt. He was about to continue his conversation with Lord Harry when he noticed the appearance of a figure behind the former. Without hesitation, he jumped into an attacking stance and actually lunged forward at the figure with his right palm aiming for the figure's head.
"City Lord certainly holds Lord Harry quite highly." Grey's calm voice echoed as he didn't even react even though City Lord Vaughn was lunging at him.
Hearing the voice, City Lord Vaughn recognized the owner and withdrew his outstretched hand in fright.
"Apologies Sir Grey, I mistook you for an enemy." City Lord Vaughn hurriedly explained while sweating buckets. The way he addressed Grey has taken a drastic turn as there was a slight show of respect.
City Lord Vaughn couldn't be blamed for the change in attitude. He certainly believed that Grey's status was greater than even himself who was the City Lord of a Capital City. If his guess was correct, then Grey is definitely the descendant of a Peak level Master or even a student of such powerhouses. Not just that, but Grey showed greater strength than himself, which meant that he was superior. In their world where strength reigned supreme, age could barely be used as a factor of seniority.
"City Lord is too modest, it was I who invaded your space unexpectedly." Grey bowed to apologize.
City Lord Vaughn was taken by surprise at Grey's humble nature. During their encounter, Grey never showed any form of haughtiness nor arrogance, which already made City Lord Vaughn have a good impression of him during the trip. And now that he even placed himself in a lower position, Grey didn't take advantage of his new position, rather, he apologized for invading his privacy. Not all the young geniuses could have such wisdom at this age.
City Lord Vaughn's impression of Grey shot up once again after this short exchange.
"Why did Sir Grey come?" City Lord Vaughn asked after his momentary silence.
Grey didn't hide his intentions of wanting to leave. City Lord Vaughn had expected this a few days ago when he found out Grey was still in retreat.
City Lord Vaughn brought out everything, since the other two were dead, the trio will gain even more items.
The road of an Elementalist has never been easy, and whenever a trip like theirs happens, in some cases, the entire group is wiped out. If not for Grey going all-out, the two City Lords wouldn't be the only ones dead. As unfortunate as their deaths were, it wasn't something that would stop the rest of their groups from sharing the loot. It didn't take long after they died before their rings were looted. The only losers in such expeditions are the dead.
City Lord Vaughn made sure to give Grey the extra item after they've each taken an equal number of treasures.
Grey didn't show any hesitation, taking it with a bow. As soon as they finished sharing the loot, Grey left.
City Lord Vaughn told him to visit him in the future and he carelessly nodded to him. The chances of him ever seeing City Lord Vaughn again is remarkably low.
After leaving the Manor, Grey rushed straight into the mountain range. His destination was none other than the abandoned Manor Void and the bunny leader found.
Traveling alone, it took Grey barely over an hour before he got to his destination. Squinting his eyes, he stared at the Manor standing before him. From how it was built, he could tell that it must belong to a fairly decent Family.
"I wonder what happened to them." He commented offhandedly. There were no signs of battles, which meant that whoever was living here left years ago.
Turning to the bunny leader, Grey asked it to help him secure at least a ten kilometers radius with the Manor at the center. The bunny leader had countless Bunnies under its control, without even having to lift a paw, it carried out Grey's request immediately.
Grey discovered this Manor was located in a well-hidden position and would stand as a great location for him to break through. Even with the bunny leader's Bunnies patrolling the area, Grey still created a few arrays. One was to aid his cultivation, while the other was a layer of protection. The bunny leader's Bunnies might be numerous, but they weren't top experts. If a Late stage Sovereign tried to sneak past them they wouldn't be able to notice them.
The bunny leader hasn't been able to recruit a Late stage Rank Eight Magical Beast.
After making all the preparations, Grey didn't try to investigate this Manor, rather, he wanted to make a breakthrough first. Walking into a random room, he sat down cross-legged, a thoughtful expression on his face.
He stretched out his hand and released what looked to be like a small black blade. Taking a closer look, one would realize that this isn't a random black blade, but a tear in space that was well controlled.
After playing with it on his palm, he pushed his palm forward, sending the small black blade forward. The blade travelled very slowly, touching the wall, it passed through the wall without any obstruction. It moved a few meters forward before disappearing.
Grey sucked in a deep breath as he saw the result of the blade, he couldn't help but smile as he praised, "This technique is quite amazing!"
The room he was currently using for his cultivation, although he randomly picked it, it was still one of the best cultivation chambers in this Manor. Its walls weren't made of ordinary stone. From Grey's estimation, it could take the attack of a First stage Sovereign without showing any scratches. Yet this unimpressive looking black blade easily cut a hole in it.
Thinking about it, it wasn't unexpected, after all, this was the space element. And from Grey's understanding of this technique, the small blade is a genuine tear in space controlled by him. Whatever it touches will be sent into the vast space, lost in the void.
During his month and half retreat, while all his focus was on healing his wounds, he was mentally simulating this cultivation technique in his head.
He hadn't even perfected the technique yet it could already display such strength.
