Chapter 239: Chapter 237: If You Believe It Will Happen, It Will

"Let’s start hiring. A chef gets a thousand a day, but it’s only a one-day job. It’s pretty tough, so they need to have relevant culinary certifications, multiple cuisine skills, and a recent health certificate. Also, hire a bunch of waiters, three hundred a day, preferably locals who are quick and tidy," Pei Yan said directly.

Before anyone could react, Pei Yan had already come up with a plan.

"But isn’t it hard to hire people right now?" Chen Yao hesitated.

Pei Yan: "No worries, people will come. Post the recruitment notice at the front door and outside. Let’s have breakfast first. Once we get busy, we might not have time to eat. I just took a quick look; we don’t need to buy ingredients for now. The show producers are at least considerate in this aspect, preparing quite a lot. If it’s not enough, we can restock halfway through. Also, rent the adjacent two restaurants, three thousand a day."

[Ahhhh! A thousand a day! Such a high salary? A regular chef only makes a few thousand a month! This is equivalent to several days’ pay! For lower salaries, it’s like a week’s worth! I just hate being so far away!]

[But why is my brother renting the next-door restaurant? Haven’t even started making money and already spending??]

[I’m telling my dad to take leave and go for an interview right now!]

[I just want to ask if it’s still possible to learn now?]

[I can’t cook, but I can apply to be a waiter! I’m a college graduate! I wonder if I can pass?]

[I don’t really understand this direction, can there really be business? Before starting, my brother’s already making such a big move, isn’t he afraid of losing money?]

[Pei Yan is too confident, isn’t he?]

[My brother’s so organized! While the other guests are still bewildered, he’s already come up with a strategy! But, I’m a bit worried...I have to go support him; can’t let him not make money!!]

The group crafted a simple recruitment notice and posted it outside. Many of the live stream’s fans are locals, and calls went out to family or friends who were chefs to come apply. Negotiations with the two restaurants next door were also settled.

During breakfast, five to six people had already come to interview for the chef positions, and some women applied to be waitresses.

Not long after, another dozen people arrived, with more on the way.

Based on the interview information, each applicant was asked to make a signature dish for tasting, and every dish looked, smelled, and tasted great.

Qin Yun was most satisfied with this part and directly picked some dishes she liked. These dishes entered the final stage, and in the end, ten chefs were selected based on comprehensive information.

Then, Pei Yan filled out each chef’s specialty on the menu and assigned responsibilities to each guest.

Qin Yun and Yang Leqi were in charge of front desk cashiering and order taking, Wang Sirui was responsible for welcoming and promoting, Chen Yao and Qin Hao were helping in the kitchen, and Pei Yan acted as the hall manager.

"Are there that many people coming to eat? Renting the next-door restaurant seems a bit wasteful," Wang Sirui said incredulously upon hearing Pei Yan’s plan to keep ten people and rent the adjacent place.

"If you believe there will be, there will be. Only by preparing in advance can you be ready when surprises arrive," Pei Yan looked at him and said.

"Makes sense," Wang Sirui said, stunned.

"If not, I’ll cover any losses myself, and I’ll handle all the costs for the next recording," Pei Yan continued after a pause.

With this statement, no one said anything more.

Qin Yun comfortingly patted his shoulder, "Hurry up and get ready."

There might be doubts in other areas, but when it comes to making money, Pei Yan is a pro.

No one is more sensitive to money in this world. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Pei Yan rented so many stores, likely worried they wouldn’t have enough space.

By past eight, people began to trickle into the restaurant.

When Wang Sirui saw the first carriage stop at their restaurant door, he ran inside in shock, shouting, "Customers have arrived!! Mr. Pei was right!"

[Oh dear, this silly boy! So embarrassing, my apologies.]

[My brother is amazing! He thought of everything!!]

"What’s all this shouting for? Why aren’t you welcoming the guests? What are you running inside for?" Yang Leqi was wiping the cashier’s counter, and said irritably upon hearing Wang Sirui’s shouting.

"Oh, right." Wang Sirui snapped out of it, smacked his forehead, and quickly turned back to greet the customers.

Three girls stepped down from the carriage and called out to Wang Sirui with a smile, "Silly boy! We came to support you!!"

Wang Sirui, having just come out, paused, instinctively wanting to turn back. But recalling his current duty, he went out with reluctance and said slightly irritated, "Stop calling me your son. How old are you to have a son already? I’m probably older than you! Don’t call me that again."

"Okay," they nodded, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t call him that again.

Just not to his face.

With a stern expression, Wang Sirui lifted the curtain, "Come on in."

"You can’t attract customers with that face. You need to smile to leave a good impression so more people come. Like this," said one of the girls, showing a professional full-score smile.

"What’s your job? You’re quite professional," asked Wang Sirui curiously.

"Service industry," the girl replied simply.

Wang Sirui led the three to a table, "Is this spot okay? Here’s the menu, what would you like to eat?"

"We’ll have one of each chef’s specialty. We were watching the live stream, almost drooled over it!" said another girl, swallowing.

Wang Sirui, at a loss between laughter and tears, thought only Sister Yun could be drooling over food, but the first guests turned out to be drawn by the tasting dishes.

"You won’t finish all that with just three of you," reasoned Wang Sirui.

"Then based on our number, serve us the dishes you thought tasted the best," the girl suggested directly.

"Alright, I’ll place your order," said Wang Sirui, heading to the kitchen, and requested, "Could the four chefs please remake the signature dishes for the three young ladies who just arrived?"

Meanwhile, in the hall, Yang Leqi brought three glasses of water on a tray, placing them in front of the guests, "If you need anything, feel free to call me."

"Ahhh!! Leqi, can I take a picture with you?" the girl who ordered excitedly asked.

"Uh, sure." Yang Leqi was stunned for a moment then smiled and nodded.

From the conversation earlier, she assumed all three girls were Wang Sirui’s fans.

Unexpectedly, one was her fan too.
