After Becoming the Villain Mother-in-Law, I Launch My Redemption Arc-Chapter 351: You Want to Get Him Drunk?
Sanger was stirred by Zhu Xianxian’s words, which awakened buried thoughts of his longing. Though outwardly calm as he conversed with Zhu Xianxian, inwardly he missed his mother, his sister Xiaohua, his second brother, his eldest brother, and his master’s family.
He left without a word, not leaving even a message. When his mother comes back, surely she’ll be angry, right?
His second brother and sister Xiaohua must have been really worried about him at that time, right?
Actually, he didn’t want to leave at that time. He felt he was truly his mother’s child.
As for his biological parents, he hadn’t even seen them. How could he feel anything based on just a few casual words?
But back then, when Uncle Jin came to find him, he said that those who had harmed his biological parents already knew of his existence. If he didn’t leave, it would surely endanger those around him.
He understood his mother’s temperament; if he stayed and told her the truth, she wouldn’t let him leave, but would face it together with him.
He didn’t want his mother and siblings to be endangered.
Thus, he left quietly.
After returning, he went through great hardships to finally establish a foothold. However, those people who seemed honest on the surface were secretly restless, always looking for a chance to retaliate against him.
Under such circumstances, he really didn’t dare to contact them.
He wonders how they are doing these days.
"Sanger, why are you suddenly lost in thought?"
A clear, youthful voice rang out, pulling Sanger back to the present. He then noticed a charming young girl standing beside Mrs. Mudar. Compared to the girls of the grassland, her skin was fairer, but compared to most girls from the inner region, she was slightly tanned.
Her eyes were bright and lively, adding a touch of spirit to her.
"Sanger, this is my daughter, Aya," Zhu Xianxian introduced proactively.
Even though Sanger was mature beyond his years, he couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.
Did this girl hear all that he said earlier?
"Miss Aya, what I said earlier had no intention of offense whatsoever," Sanger said with a solemn bow.
Aya smiled, "I don’t think there was anything inappropriate about what you said earlier. On the contrary, I think you’re quite right. If I were you, I’d probably have the same thoughts. So, you shouldn’t think you offended me."
Aya was unreserved and spoke straightforwardly, without a hint of bashfulness.
Since the lady herself didn’t mind, Sanger naturally wouldn’t dwell on the matter.
"Aya, why don’t you show Sanger around? I’ll see if there’s anything I can help with," Zhu Xianxian suggested.
Sanger knew that the girls from the grassland were warm and open-minded, unlike the shy girls from the inner region. The girl was so outspoken; if he acted awkwardly, it would only be laughable.
"Thank you, Miss Aya," Sanger replied.
Zhu Xianxian walked around and found Mudar, who still looked a bit upset, clearly still angry.
"Are you upset because Abu lost to Sanger?" Zhu Xianxian feigned ignorance.
Mudar was upset because his daughter didn’t receive any special attention from Sanger.
He thought that when the elders from Sanna proposed the idea, regardless of what Sanger thought, he should have at least been flattered on the surface and said he wasn’t worthy of his Aya.
But what happened? Instead of saying anything like that, Sanger said he didn’t need a marriage alliance, didn’t need to rely on women, and wanted to find a girl with whom he shared genuine feelings.
That rationale made sense, and as a man, he thought the same way.
But inexplicably, he felt his daughter was being rejected, which was infuriating.
And then there’s Abu, usually so strong, yet he was thrown by Sanger without any resistance. How embarrassing!
He clearly felt Sanger was just a weak monkey with no strength.
"Abu must have had an off day today!" Mudar grumbled, "Next time, they should compete again if given the chance."
"I don’t think it’s Abu who didn’t perform well, but rather that Sanger truly has skills. You said before that Sanger was capable. Otherwise, how could he have quickly subdued the people from Sanna?" Zhu Xianxian pointed out. "Other folks may not know, but don’t we know? Those people aren’t pushovers!"
Indeed, he had said so before.
But now, he didn’t want to admit it.
Zhu Xianxian was well aware of her husband’s temperament.
"Having another match isn’t impossible, anyway, losing face once or twice makes no difference," Zhu Xianxian teased with a smile. "Or, what if you call a few young men to join in? Surely, that would win a game!"
Mudar looked at Zhu Xianxian with grievance.
Would doing so really reverse the result?
That would be utter embarrassment!
If word got out, how could he maintain his reputation on the grassland?
"My dear, please stop teasing me!" Mudar grumbled.
"If I don’t tease you, when you lose face, would it only be your face being lost? We are husband and wife, one body and soul. Could I escape?" Zhu Xianxian said.
The phrase "one body and soul" delighted Mudar again.
He loved hearing Xianxian say that.
"Although I don’t want to admit it, that kid Sanger is indeed not an ordinary person," Mudar conceded.
"So, what do you think about letting him be our son-in-law?" Zhu Xianxian asked.
"Not good!" Mudar immediately declined.
Being extraordinary means being hard to control. Aya is his treasure, and he wanted a son-in-law like himself.
But Sanger clearly wasn’t someone like him.
Too capable, what if Aya couldn’t manage him in the future?
The main issue was that he wasn’t confident he could handle Sanger.
"You know Aya’s temperament best; she seems to have quite a favorable impression of Sanger," Zhu Xianxian said.
Mudar’s face fell, "Aya likes that weak-looking monkey Sanger? Frail!"
"Frail? Then what about Abu?" Zhu Xianxian countered.
If Abu was defeated so thoroughly, wasn’t he even weaker than frail?
Mudar was at a loss for words.
"Does Aya really like Sanger?" Mudar pressed.
"She has a good impression," Zhu Xianxian replied.
Mudar pondered for a moment, "Then I’ll take out my treasured wine later."
"What, you want to get him drunk?" Zhu Xianxian raised an eyebrow.
"If Aya fancies him, of course, I have to support her. Maybe he doesn’t need to return to Sanna, but stays here," Mudar said.
"Do you think Aya would be unhappy if she knew your intentions?"
"I’m doing this for her own good, how could she be unhappy?"
"Aya wants mutual consent; by doing this, wouldn’t you be treating Sanger like an object? Even if Sanger was forced to agree, do you think, under such circumstances, he would bear no resentment? With resentment, could their future married life be harmonious?" Zhu Xianxian calmly reasoned.
"With us around, would he dare defy us?" Mudar was not convinced, "If he dares to mistreat Aya, I wouldn’t let him off!"
Zhu Xianxian gave him a meaningful look, "What, do you think you’ll live longer than Aya and the rest?"
Mudar: ...
