Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Rumors Arise

Isabella Weaver walked into the bun shop only to realize she hadn’t removed her makeup. Staring at her blotchy, black-and-red face reflected in the glass, she asked Cora Ginger in shock, "Have I been talking to Harry... others looking like this the whole time?"

Cora Ginger was gobbling up the hot soup buns, mumbling, "Yeah, why?"

Isabella Weaver felt like pinching Cora Ginger’s ear. How could this girl not remind her to take off her makeup!

No wonder people were staring at her all the way here; she had thought it was because of Cora Ginger’s loud voice!

So, she had just kissed Harry Hunter with a face like a ghost?

Isabella Weaver buried her face in her arms, feeling a bit ashamed to see anyone.

Oh my god, she kissed Harry Hunter looking so ugly, and he didn’t even push her away! He was really patient!

She went to the restroom and worked hard to clean her face before going to eat breakfast.

Cora Ginger looked at her porcelain-like skin enviously, "Isabella, you’re really beautiful, your skin is so soft. I could eat a whole basket of buns just staring at your face!"

Isabella Weaver gave her a glare, "You could eat while looking at that face I had just now?"

"Haha, don’t be mad. Next time I’ll do your makeup way better!"

"Then I’ll eat another basket of buns and five skewers of meat!"

"Sure, sure, eat as much as you want, my treat!"

...

After breakfast, Isabella Weaver parted ways with Cora Ginger. Cora went home, while Isabella headed back to the clubhouse.

Her car was still at the clubhouse, she had to drive it back. Luckily, the clubhouse wasn’t far from the bun shop, so it wouldn’t take much time to walk back.

It wasn’t that she intentionally wanted to hide it from Cora, she just didn’t know how to explain the car situation.

When she got back to school, it was already past eight. Just as she got out of the car, she bumped into her roommate Molly Cox coming out of the dormitory building.

Molly Cox exclaimed, "Isabella, where did you get this car? It’s a Range Rover, right? One like this costs over a million! Whose is it? It can’t be God Field Milo’s, can it?"

Isabella Weaver frowned at the mention of the name, "No."

"Then whose is it? Don’t tell me you bought it yourself; where would you get the money!"

Isabella Weaver noticed the gathering eyes around them and replied coldly, "It’s none of your business, don’t ask again."

This area had plenty of nice cars parked, her car wasn’t noticeable until Molly Cox made it a spectacle.

Looks like she couldn’t park her car directly in the dorm parking lot anymore.

Isabella Weaver locked her car and returned to the dorm to sleep.

What she hadn’t expected was waking up at noon to all sorts of gossip about her being kept.

Molly Cox wasn’t there, but their other two roommates, Cecilia Hart and Lily Cruz, were present, both looking at Isabella Weaver with some inexplicable expression.

"Isabella, we heard you’re driving a car worth over a million? Your family must be wealthy!"

"Speaking of which, Isabella, your parents have never visited school, right? What do they do for work? We’ve never heard you mention them before?"

"Why do you still work every day, not coming back at night, where exactly do you work? What exactly do you do!"

The two went back and forth, their tone clearly unfriendly.

Isabella Weaver rubbed her temples; her headache from severe lack of sleep was getting worse, so much so she didn’t have the energy to deal with them.

She picked up her toiletries, took a basin, and walked out, treating the two like air.
