After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic-Chapter 864: The CEO Is Having a Rough Time
After breakfast, it was already ten o’clock. Isabella Weaver carried her drawing board and went outside to paint.
Harry Hunter had specially set up a small pavilion for her outside, surrounded by a large expanse of flowers and plants, including a row of Dragon Hollyhock planted just for her.
However, she had recently been craving them and had eaten all the ripe Dragon Hollyhock berries, leaving only the unripe green ones.
Grace Watt stayed by her side, with an additional task today of taking photos of Isabella Weaver.
It wasn’t Isabella Weaver who requested this; it was Harry Hunter.
Once the photos were taken, Grace would send them to Harry, along with a report on Isabella Weaver’s breakfast, mood, and current activities.
The content of Grace’s daily reports was mostly the same because Isabella Weaver’s condition was very stable.
Unlike other pregnant women who were often sentimental, she didn’t become emotional just because Harry wasn’t with her. She organized her life very well every day, never idle even when not working. Besides working on her drawing skills daily, she followed fashion trends, watched various fashion launches, and even bought video courses to enthusiastically learn English and French from foreign teachers.
Seeing such an active and positive pregnant woman like Isabella Weaver, Grace Watt felt quite ashamed of herself.
The small pavilion in the Garden Estate was very quiet, with only the swishing sound of her brush.
Suddenly, a commotion outside broke the silence.
Grace immediately stood up: "Young Madam, I’ll go check it out."
A moment later, Grace returned: "Young Madam, the old lady brought Cherry Lewis and Zoe Lewis, along with a large group of people, saying they are here to celebrate the Young Master’s birthday. They also called a doctor to check on your body because you’re not yet pregnant."
As she spoke the last sentence, Grace’s expression was a bit odd.
The old lady didn’t know the Young Madam was already pregnant? The old man sure kept this under wraps tightly!
Isabella Weaver pondered for a while, holding her paintbrush: "Send a message to the Young Master and let him handle it."
With the grandmother coming to celebrate her grandson’s birthday, she couldn’t exactly stop it, could she? Everything would depend on Harry Hunter’s decision. She was a pregnant woman now, and taking care of the little one in her belly was crucial, lest the old lady went crazy and threw stones or fertilizer at her again. Would she fight back or not when the time came?
Isabella Weaver continued her painting. After all, the bodyguards outside wouldn’t let the old lady and her group break in, so she didn’t need to worry about anything.
Harry Hunter was busy at the company, frantic and overwhelmed. The group had encountered a crisis these past two days; there was an explosion in the product line, injuring quite a few people.
He had exerted a lot of effort to suppress the news, paid substantial medical expenses to the injured staff, and fortunately, no lives were lost, and there weren’t any disturbances—considered a fortunate misfortune.
But the cause of the explosion hadn’t been identified yet. Ben Hunter was also very concerned about this matter and had been contemplating accompanying his grandfather to personally investigate when he saw the message from Grace Watt.
Nothing was more important than Isabella Weaver. He couldn’t care less about the several vice presidents in front of him; he first opened the message and just perused it, feeling his blood rushing to his head.
He looked at Ben Hunter with a cold voice: "The old lady went to my house, brought twenty people, wants to celebrate my birthday, and also plans to discipline Isabella."
"What?!"
Ben Hunter was almost furious; the old hag had been quite quiet the past few days, yet the more critical the time, the more she sought to stir trouble!
The several vice presidents standing in the office looked at each other—today’s the president’s birthday? None of them knew!
The president was really devoted; he didn’t even celebrate his birthday and was busy in the company, not even able to drink a sip of water, having to lead people to comfort the injured and personally inspect the accident scene.
Now it looks like there’s some trouble at home too.
Why does the president seem to have it so hard?
