After Breaking Off the Engagement, I Started Pursuing My Master-Chapter 20 - Junior Sister, dont be like this
Chapter 20: Junior Sister, don’t be like this
“Luo Qingyu seems to like you quite a bit,” Chu Xianning stated calmly.
Jiang Huai didn’t know what to say and hesitated for a moment before responding with a soft “Hmm.”
After a while, he said softly, “But the marriage arrangement has now been canceled.”
“How do you plan to handle this?” Chu Xianning’s brows showed a hint of curiosity.
Jiang Huai simply shook his head, “I don’t know.”
Chu Xianning stared at him intently, waiting for him to say more.
After some thought, Jiang Huai said, “If my cultivation is restored in the future, and neither Luo Yueguan nor master objects, then we can reestablish the marriage arrangement.”
“It seems you like her quite a bit too.”
“Qingyu is very well-behaved and listens to me. She’s also beautiful. It seems I have no reason not to like her. I’m grateful to master for finding me such a good match,” Jiang Huai said, his eyes lifting slightly.
This time, he did not avoid Chu Xianning’s gaze but spoke the words with a lightness.
The master and disciple fell silent for a while, the night breeze wafting gently, Chu Xianning’s skirt fluttering slightly, and her hair dancing with the wind. Her pale cheeks appeared as serene as a deity’s in the darkness.
“I’m going to rest.”
Chu Xianning said as she stood up and walked toward her room. She had only taken a light sip from the tea on the table. Jiang Huai watched her slender figure leave and suddenly called out to her softly.
“Master.”
Chu Xianning turned her head.
In the night, her eyes were cool and clear, her hair brushed against her delicate lips. Jiang Huai always thought Chu Xianning was too beautiful, excessively so. Even though she was always cold, no one could bear to be angry with her.
“I have a question,” Jiang Huai said.
“Ask.”
“If I had refused the marriage arrangement you made for me back then, would you really have expelled me from the sect?”
“Yes.”
“How cruel.”
Jiang Huai muttered softly. “I have nothing else to ask. Rest well, master.”
With that, he picked up the pot of freshly brewed tea and walked out of the courtyard.
Chu Xianning didn’t ask where he was going. She just stood silently, watching his figure disappear into the moonlight, her long eyelashes drooping slightly.
…….
Jiang Huai gently knocked on Wen Wanwan’s courtyard door.
“Who is it?”
“Jiang Huai.”
The door opened quickly.
This time, Wen Wanwan didn’t appear as if she had just bathed. She was dressed in a simple white robe, her black hair tied up.
Jiang Huai, still holding the teapot, asked, “How’s your injury?”
“The spiritual medicine Senior Brother Jiang gave me is very effective. It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Jiang Huai took out a small jar containing some medicinal powder and said softly,
“Apply this powder to the wound. It will heal faster and help prevent scars.”
This time, Wen Wanwan didn’t shy away or refuse. She took the small jar, and bowed her head slightly.
“I can’t reach the wound on my back.”
Jiang Huai scratched his head. “Don’t you have a sister?”
Wen Wanwan’s eyelashes drooped slightly.
“I didn’t tell my sister about the injury. She’s already asleep.”
Jiang Huai thought it made sense. If her sister knew she was injured, she would be worried too.
After hesitating for a moment, he suggested, “Then… shall I help you apply it?”
“Okay,” Wen Wanwan agreed softly.
……
The moonlight shone like silver in the courtyard.
Wen Wanwan sat down on a stone bench with her back to Jiang Huai. He stood behind her, watching as she untied the straps of her dress and gently pulled the garment over her shoulders, causing it to slide down, revealing her shoulders and a glimpse of her pale back. Jiang Huai quickly saw the wound on her back, which had already scabbed over. The medicinal powder needed to be applied after the scab was removed.
“I’ll need to remove the scab first, which might hurt a bit.”
“I’m not afraid,” Wen Wanwan’s shoulders trembled slightly.
The early spring air was still a bit chilly, and now, sitting half-dressed in the courtyard facing Senior Brother Jiang Huai, her breathing became a bit rapid. The girl’s fingertips clutched tightly at her own thighs to prevent Jiang Huai from noticing her awkward state. Jiang Huai, behind her, gently tore off the scab from her wound.
Wen Wanwan bit her lip and let out a muffled grunt.
“Does it hurt?”
“It’s okay.”
Jiang Huai was as gentle as he could be. He noticed that Wen Wanwan’s wound extended further down, currently covered by her dress.
After a moment, he said softly, “The dress needs to be pulled down a bit more.”
“How far?”
“Just a little further down.”
“Go ahead, Senior Brother Jiang.”
Jiang Huai hesitated for a moment but then reached out to pull her dress down a bit more. Whether it was because he was too strong or her skin was too smooth, her white dress suddenly slipped down to her waist. This made Wen Wanwan tremble even more.
Jiang Huai didn’t know what to say and hurried to open the medicine jar, carefully applying the powder to her wound. He tried to say something to distract Wen Wanwan, but after struggling for a while, he blurted out,
“Haven’t you bathed today?”

“No, I was afraid of getting the wound wet,” Wen Wanwan replied softly.
“The powder will help it heal quickly, and then you can bathe.”
Jiang Huai said as he finally finished applying the medicine to her back.
He breathed a sigh of relief, but then he heard Wen Wanwan say, “Senior Brother Jiang… there’s also a wound on the front.”
Wait, at this moment Jiang Huai suddenly understood what it meant to be a good person to the end and to see the Buddha all the way through to the west.
Wen Wanwan released her grip on her thighs and carefully hugged her chest. Jiang Huai came around to her front, picked up the powder, and carefully sprinkled it on the wound on her shoulder.
From start to finish, his gaze was fixed only on the wound, never wavering.
Wen Wanwan quietly watched his serious eyes, and her body suddenly felt indescribably soft.
“It’s done,” Jiang Huai said after a few seconds, putting away the medicine jar and speaking softly to her. Wen Wanwan seemed to be still in a daze.
She slowly came back to her senses, released her hold on her chest, and tried to put her clothes back on. But in that instant, the scenery of her chest was inadvertently exposed.
The spring scene was enchanting, revealing the tips.
By the time Wen Wanwan realized what had happened, it was too late. She let out a soft ‘ah’ and when she moved her eyes to Jiang Huai’s face, he had his eyes tightly closed, looking guilty yet as if he was innocent, “I didn’t see anything.”
Seeing him so flustered, Wen Wanwan’s initial tension and shyness suddenly disappeared, and she let out a chuckle.
“Senior Brother Jiang really didn’t see?”
“I… I closed my eyes early on, you can’t wrong a good person.”
“Okay, I believe Senior Brother Jiang.” Wen Wanwan’s voice carried a playful tone.
She carefully tied her dress back up, looking at the Senior Brother in front of her with his eyes closed. For some reason, she suddenly felt a surge of courage. She slowly stood up, moved a step closer to Jiang Huai, so close that their noses were almost touching.
Jiang Huai seemed to feel the breath on his cheek.
He didn’t know what to say, so he pretended not to know, but his trembling eyelashes seemed to betray him.
“Senior Brother Jiang…”
“Hmm?”
“Actually, if it’s Senior Brother Jiang Huai, it’s okay for you to see.”
“I’m wronged.”
“No, what Wanwan means is… it’s because I know Senior Brother Jiang Huai is a gentleman.”
“You really understand me.”
Jiang Huai opened his eyes and looked at Wen Wanwan, whose lips were almost touching his.
“So why are you so close?”
Wen Wanwan was startled by his sudden gaze, her body softened, and she stepped back, bumping into a stone bench. She was about to fall when, fortunately, Jiang Huai quickly caught her arm and pulled her into his embrace.
Her body was soft.
Wen Wanwan was initially flustered in his arms, shrinking like a trembling little deer, but before Jiang Huai could say anything, she quietly reached out and hugged him.
“Senior Brother Jiang Huai… you’re so warm.”
“Junior Sister, don’t do this, Senior Brother is a married man.”
“Didn’t Senior Brother Jiang Huai just get his engagement annulled?”
“The marriage has been temporarily dissolved, if the engagement is set again in the future, then I’ll be married again.”
“But right now… there is none.”
Wen Wanwan’s cheek rested against his chest.
She couldn’t quite explain where she got the courage, perhaps it was driven by a greedy desire. She really liked the feeling of holding Jiang Huai, her cheek against his chest, listening to his heartbeat, as if her head was getting dizzy and her heart seemed ready to leap out of her chest.
“Alright then, how long do you want to hug?”
“Hug… for the duration of an incense stick.”
“Let’s make it half an incense stick.”
Wen Wanwan hugged him even tighter, and Jiang Huai, slightly helpless, looked down at Wen Wanwan in his arms. After hesitating for a moment, he reached out and gently embraced her too.
Wen Wanwan’s earlobes turned incredibly red, and Jiang Huai took one hand to gently pinch her earlobe, whispering softly,
“Your ear is so hot.”
Wen Wanwan was too embarrassed to speak.
Jiang Huai quietly counted the time in his heart, not really minding it. It seemed he also liked the feeling of holding someone, especially a fragrant and soft girl. Wen Wanwan’s body was slightly bony, but her waist was soft.
After a while, when Wen Wanwan’s cheeks were flushed red as if steam would start to rise from her forehead if they hugged a little longer, Jiang Huai finally let go.
“Alright, alright, you can get up now, right?”
Wen Wanwan reluctantly withdrew her hands, and at this moment, her mind cooled down a bit. She finally realized what she had just done, and panic and insecurity began to fill her head.
Perhaps… Senior Brother Jiang Huai would think of her as a frivolous woman.
This unease quietly began to bubble up to the point where Wen Wanwan didn’t dare to look directly into Jiang Huai’s eyes. She wanted to say something in her defense, but her thoughts were so scrambled that she couldn’t speak.
But Jiang Huai just sat down on the stone bench and said,
“I just brewed a pot of jasmine tea, too much for one person. Shall we drink it together?”
Wen Wanwan mustered the courage to look into his eyes, and his expression was still as gentle as ever.
