After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again-Chapter 46: You really have a big heart, Mrs. Gardiner
Chapter 46: Chapter 46: You really have a big heart, Mrs. Gardiner
Luke’s face showed a hint of stiffness, which he quickly covered up, sitting up straight: "You seem to know quite a bit."
Florence stared at him: "Of course, if I want to get involved, I need to be fully informed. But I really don’t know the conditions for her to renew the contract."
Luke coughed lightly: "Well, the contract was signed for a pretty long term in the first place."
"Alright." She had no intention of asking further: "Three months it is, when do we sign?"
Luke stood up: "No rush."
Florence was afraid he would go back on his word: "What do you mean?"
"Let’s go shopping." Luke went to grab his coat: "Some store spaces will be available soon, you can pick one."
Checking out the terrain... not a bad idea.
"Let’s go then." She said straightforwardly.
Starloop SSG targets the high-end market, and the entire mall is elegantly and grandly decorated without looking gaudy.
Florence had visited often, and upon arrival, she started from the first floor with Luke.
"That spot will be available at the end of this month, two on the second floor, one on the third floor, all these will be open by the end of this month. If you want it quick, choose this one; if not, wait until next month for more options."
Florence looked at the spots, feeling a bit conflicted. When she snapped back, she saw Luke had already walked into a store in the distance.
She walked in and found that Luke was shopping around.
Seeing her come in, Luke raised an eyebrow: "Want to try something on?"
She walked over and lowered her voice: "Weren’t we here to shop locations, you..."
Luke looked at her: "We’re shopping, aren’t we?"
The sales assistant came quickly, surrounding the two: "What can I show you two?"
Luke raised an eyebrow: "My wife wants to buy me something."
Florence: "?"
Hearing that this handsome man and beautiful woman were indeed a couple, the sales assistant smiled and flattered: "Oh, I knew it, you two match so well. Sir, your wife is really beautiful."
She was very precise, knowing that since the woman is paying, the flattery should be directed properly.
"Find two sets of casual wear, let me take a look." Luke nonchalantly started browsing.
Another sales assistant approached Florence: "Madam, would you like something to drink?"
Florence went to the relaxation area: "Water is fine."
The sales assistant brought her water and handed her a tablet: "You can also select clothes here, and we can bring out anything suitable for you or your husband to try on."
Florence nodded, accepting: "Thank you."
She casually browsed and marked what she found suitable, asking the sales assistant to bring them out for Luke to try on.
Although she wasn’t a designer, her company dealt with design. Plus, she had always had good taste. After being influenced for so long, she definitely had an opinion on style and matching.
"Wow, sir, your wife’s eye is really good." Florence could vaguely hear the sales assistant’s voice, as she sat on the sofa, unconsciously thinking of Ethan Harper.
No girl doesn’t like shopping, and the Fuller Family provided her with ample living expenses. Besides that, she had her own funds, but she didn’t have friends.
Among her social class, Clara Fuller was well integrated. Not many were willing to befriend Florence, but she didn’t mind. Rather than fake socializing, she preferred being alone.
But Ethan Harper wouldn’t let her be alone.
In the Fuller Family, she was quiet, withdrawn, and a loner.
But after Ethan Harper appeared, after she was abandoned by the Shaw Family, he was the only one who brought her joy.
Wherever she appeared, Ethan Harper would find his way to accompany her, and whatever she wanted to do, he agreed to.
He claimed he was stingy, but towards her, he was extravagant and generous.
Any bag, clothes, shoes, be it limited edition or out of print, he would get for her.
He accompanied her... guided her... loved her...
A ring silently made its way to her hand, yet he vanished without a trace.
"What are you thinking about?" Suddenly, a face appeared close, snapping her back to reality, her heart skipped a beat from fright.
Those beautiful eyes still showed signs of being startled. Luke looked at her: "I’ve been calling you, what are you thinking about here? Trying to back out now that it’s time to pay?"
Florence let out a breath: "All done?"
He had changed into a new outfit: "How do I look?"
The casual suit style lost some elegance, gaining a bit of roguish charm.
Florence glanced: "Looks good."
Her gaze wasn’t focused, seemingly absent-minded. Luke looked at her: "Why don’t you pick a couple of things?"
"I’m not picking." Florence took out her card and handed it to the sales assistant: "Wrap up everything he likes, charge it."
She wanted to get out of there.
The sales assistant took it: "Alright."
Seeing her decisiveness, Luke leaned in close, sitting next to her: "So this is what being treated by someone else feels like, huh?"
Florence gave him a push: "Get off."
Luke gazed at her beautiful side profile: "Since you bought me so many clothes, let me treat you to dinner tonight to thank you."
"No need," Florence looked at him: "Just lower your standards a bit."
Luke leaned a bit closer, his tone rather ambiguous: "So is this a bribe?"
Florence met his eyes, her meaning unclear: "What do you think?"
They locked eyes for ten seconds before Luke turned away with a roguish expression: "You think you can bribe me with clothes? Do I look like someone who needs a few outfits?"
Florence: "Then I’ll find you a woman."
Luke’s eyes twitched, squinting back at her: "Find me a woman?"
Florence looked at him as if asking what else was there.
Luke stood up suddenly, his tone sarcastic: "You have such a big heart, Mrs. Gardiner!"
With that, he left with a cold face.
The sales assistant finished the transaction and saw Luke walking away with a stern face, carefully handed the card back to Florence: "Here you go, madam, the bill is settled, those things are..."
Florence gave her the car plate number: "Just deliver them next to the parking spot."
"Okay," the sales assistant said.
Florence glanced at her name tag: "Interested in changing jobs?"
The sales assistant was taken aback: "Huh?"
Florence smiled: "Never mind."
She stood up and left.
She called Luke but didn’t know where he went, in such a large mall, she couldn’t locate him, and he wasn’t picking up his phone either.
After a moment, she decided not to bother and chose to head back instead.
Luke hung up after the first call, waiting for a second one, but after more than ten minutes with no movement, he couldn’t hold back and called back: "Where are you? Why didn’t you follow me out?"
Florence replied: "I already came out and couldn’t see you, then I called and you didn’t answer, so I left."
"You left!" Luke was even more frustrated: "Florence, how can you be like this?"
"What did I do?" Florence felt there was no issue: "We’ve shopped, bought clothes, you left angrily, I called and you didn’t answer, did you expect me to foolishly keep looking for you?"
