After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again-Chapter 52: Preventing Thieves
Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Preventing Thieves
Eastern Metropolis Imperial Residence.
When they reached downstairs, Florence Fuller went to the trunk to get her luggage. Luke Gardiner followed her out of the car and glanced towards the lobby: "Let me help you carry it up."
"No need." Florence Fuller flatly refused: "You should head back."
"You really treat me like a driver." Luke Gardiner was displeased: "Drove you all this way and you won’t even let me go up for a sip of water."
Florence Fuller knew he’d be cheeky like this and gestured to the security guard inside the glass doors. The guard came out: "Miss Fuller."
"Get him a bottle of water."
Luke Gardiner: "..."
The security went to the front desk and fetched a bottle of water, handing it over. Florence Fuller took it and considerately unscrewed the cap for him: "Drink, aren’t you thirsty."
At this moment, Luke Gardiner’s mood was really quite amused.
Guarding against him like he’s a thief.
He gave her a cold look, somewhat angrily turned back to the car, and drove away.
Florence Fuller didn’t mind at all, and drank herself.
Evelyn Shaw had just finished cooking the last dish when the door opened.
Dragging her luggage, Florence Fuller came out and went over to help: "You’re back just in time, the dishes are just done."
Florence Fuller took a look and it was quite a spread.
"You made so much."
"We’re having our own New Year’s celebration." Evelyn Shaw set the tableware: "I went abroad for the New Year, and then to the hospital with mom. Today you’re back, it’s perfect, we can have a meal and it counts as celebrating the New Year together."
Florence Fuller took the chopsticks: "Your cooking skills have really improved."
"Of course." Evelyn Shaw sighed: "When I first started learning, even I couldn’t eat it."
Florence Fuller chuckled lightly and started eating seriously.
She didn’t want to talk to Luke Gardiner; she slept the whole flight back and didn’t eat anything.
Now she was quite hungry.
While they were eating, Florence Fuller asked about Amelia Linney’s health. Surprisingly, she seemed to have recovered well, with better complexion and had even gained some weight.
Florence Fuller was very surprised.
"And there’s another matter."
Evelyn Shaw placed a piece of rib into her bowl: "I’m feeling very conflicted."
"What’s the matter?"
"I ran into Brother Somerset the other day, and we happened to talk about this." Evelyn Shaw thought for a moment: "He suggested I go to Eastern World Entertainment."
Florence Fuller was stunned; that’s a subsidiary under the Somerset Family.
"He said the company is forming a girl group. I can sing and have learned to dance since I was a child, so I could give it a try."
Florence Fuller nodded: "You can sing, dance, and even compose and write lyrics, you do have an advantage."
"But I’m already twenty-six this year."
"What’s wrong with being twenty-six?" Florence Fuller raised an eyebrow: "At twenty-six you can’t debut? At twenty-six you can’t dance?"
Evelyn Shaw was torn: "I asked about it, and they said the company would start an internal selection process, if chosen you’d be signed directly and undergo six months of training before debuting."
Florence Fuller seemed to see the issue: "Are you afraid you won’t be chosen?"
Evelyn Shaw shook her head.
Since she was young, she had been learning dance, had a talent for it, and often worked part-time as a dance teacher, she sang well enough too, was not too worried.
"Are you afraid of being criticized for your age after debuting?"
Charles Shaw nodded.
"But you know the internet is a place of controversy. Where there are fans, there are haters. Being a celebrity idol, it’s impossible to have a smooth journey. I can support you."
"I’ll give it a try." Evelyn Shaw felt a bit more confident, her worries mostly about her age: "See if I can pass the preliminaries."
"Besides, you don’t even look twenty-six." Florence Fuller studied her carefully: "You look more like you’re in your early twenties."
Evelyn Shaw laughed: "It feels like you’re complimenting me but also yourself."
The two of them were the same age, Florence Fuller was a few months younger than her.
"When are the preliminaries?"
"The day after tomorrow, I’m number three hundred something, the time is set for four o’clock."
Florence Fuller: "You’ve already registered."
"Yes, just feeling unsure and wanted to discuss with you."
"Go ahead, it’s fine, if you don’t get selected I have backup plans you can consider, right."
Evelyn Shaw laughed, from childhood to now, they always supported each other in competitions, cheering each other on.
Miraculously, they both managed to win championships.
At this moment, it felt like they were back in the past.

After the New Year, people, after their holiday rush, began returning to work.
This day Florence Fuller had just returned from negotiating a collaboration outside when Lily Hart came in holding a beautifully crafted gift box.
"Boss, this is from Assistant Johnson."
Assistant Johnson? Edward Johnson.
"What’s this?"
Lily Hart placed it on her desk, Florence Fuller opened it, inside was a red haute couture gown.
"Assistant Johnson said there’s an important banquet tonight that you and President Gardiner need to attend together. President Gardiner’s view is that it wouldn’t hurt for you to meet these prominent families from SJ City."
Florence Fuller raised an eyebrow.
How could this not be considered a good thing?
She called Luke Gardiner, he thought she wouldn’t go: "I’ve invited all these people, there’s only benefits for you, no drawbacks!"
Florence Fuller was puzzled: "I didn’t say I wouldn’t go, can you give me another invitation?"
"Why?"
"For my friend to come too."
To give to Chloe Quinn, in such big occasions, she couldn’t handle it all alone.
"There’s one inside the gift box, give it to your friend, you... I can pick you up together after you’re ready, is six o’clock okay?"
"Sure!"
When Florence Fuller hung up the call, she took out the invitation and handed it to Lily Hart, telling her to give it to Chloe Quinn.
Lily Hart nodded: "Got it, I’ll cancel your following work appointments."
"Alright." Florence Fuller looked at the time, more than three hours: "I’ll go get my makeup and styling done."
In such grand settings, she never let herself fall short.
The gown was prepared by Luke Gardiner, and Florence Fuller’s makeup artist styled her according to the gown.
At the designated time, she met up with Luke Gardiner.
The weather outside was a bit cold, she hadn’t worn a coat yet. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Luke Gardiner had just gotten out of the car and saw on the steps, a woman in a red spaghetti-strap mermaid gown slowly walking over, holding up her dress.
The velvet red heels, the mermaid gown wrapped snugly around her body, outlined her graceful figure. Her long curls were updos, the tassel earrings and necklace were matching. Her delicate makeup made her stunningly beautiful.
Luke Gardiner watched her walk step by step, his breath caught, and his heart rate quickened a little.
"Get in the car!"
With just those few steps, Florence Fuller was freezing.
But beauty made it worth it.
Luke Gardiner returned to his senses, opened the car door without saying a word.
The car was a spacious six-seater, after Florence Fuller settled in, she tidied up her loose hair: "Where’s the place?"
"Rilmans Manor Hotel."
Florence Fuller understood, it was a castle manor hotel, upscale location, pricey. Seemed tailored for the elite of SJ, many preferred to hold their banquets and parties there.
Even Florence Fuller and Luke Gardiner’s wedding was held there.
