After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 116: Danger
Kith transformed into a massive white tiger and hurled himself into the fray, claws and fangs flashing as he tore into the mutated beasts. Beside him, Nina summoned thick vines that lashed out at the creatures charging toward them.
Her power had reached the seventh tier, yet some of the higher-ranked beasts were still strong enough to snap her vines and press forward.
Kith and Finch were each locked in combat with two ninth-tier mutated beasts, unable to spare even a moment to help her.
Above, Odian and Aviel kept glancing downward, their hearts tightening as they saw Nina surrounded. They tried to break away to assist her, but Haron, Waor, and the flying mutated beasts blocked them relentlessly.
On the ground, Nina fought while shielding the cubs, already sustaining minor injuries.
She swallowed another breakthrough pill she had purchased from the system. The effect was weaker than before—only pushing her strength close to the eighth tier.
The system’s weapons still weren’t strong enough to deal with top-tier beasts. She could only buy items to weaken them slightly.
One mutated beast after another lunged at her. She summoned vines continuously, while Ghost-cry Vine whipped and struck at anything that came too close.
Suddenly, an eighth-tier beast tore through her defenses and pounced. Nina hastily erected a barrier.
At the same time, behind her, a ninth-tier beast’s eyes flared with killing intent as it lunged forward.
A black-winged beastman hovered nearby, waiting for the perfect moment to seize her.
Kith caught sight of the powerful beast charging from behind Nina. His pupils shrank in horror. Ignoring the two beasts in front of him, he spun and leapt, placing himself between Nina and the attack.
Though he raised a shield in time, the ninth-tier beast’s strike shattered through and crashed into him.
Flesh split. Blood sprayed.
His body—still not fully healed—was torn open anew.
Worse still, the other two ninth-tier beasts rushed in.
Facing three alone, Kith was instantly covered in fresh wounds. His black-and-white fur was stained crimson.
Nina felt engulfed in white. Looking up, she saw blood dripping steadily from Kith’s body. He swayed slightly, yet he remained standing, desperately blocking the beasts behind her.
"Kith..."
Her vision blurred.
More mutated beasts surged forward. Her strength was draining rapidly.
Her barrier crumbled bit by bit. Two eighth-tier beasts lunged at her.
Nina’s gaze hardened. Clutching the cubs tightly, she prepared to fight to the last breath.
At that critical instant, a massive wall of thick vines and surging water rose before her.
A silver-white giant wolf and a streak of blue light burst into the battlefield, cutting through the mutated beasts to reach her side.
Then several more blue figures joined in.
The tide began to turn.
Lex, Yanai, and Kith joined forces against the three ninth-tier beasts. Their strength surpassed that of the mutated beasts; once evenly matched in numbers, the beasts fell quickly. Two were slain. The third fled.
They did not pursue it, instead swiftly clearing the remaining beasts near Nina.
In the sky, Haron and Waor were also losing ground.
Unlike Odian and Aviel, their power had been artificially enhanced through special means—unstable and unsuited for prolonged battle. As the fight dragged on, their weakness became obvious.
Haron and Waor exchanged a glance and decided to retreat.
Seeing Nina’s side stabilizing, Odian and Aviel resolved to eliminate them once and for all.
Haron and Waor were forced to continue fighting.
Aviel unleashed his domain. Waor felt his movements slow drastically. Bolts of lightning rained down upon him. Despite desperate evasions, he was struck repeatedly.
His speed faltered.
Aviel intensified the assault.
A massive bolt of lightning struck Waor directly. He died instantly, plummeting to the ground.
Haron, meanwhile, was scorched black by Odian’s flames, his fur nearly burned away. Though stronger than Waor, he knew he was no match.
He crushed several energy stones in his hand.
Black mist filled the sky.
Odian immediately activated purification, but it was a moment too late.
When the mist cleared, Haron had vanished, escaping with another energy stone.
Odian didn’t pursue. He flew down to Nina.
Aviel followed swiftly.
The remaining mutated beasts and black-winged beastmen scattered in panic. Ridan and the others chased a few but did not pursue them far.
At last, the battlefield quieted.
Nina let out a trembling breath.
She turned to Kith, her voice tight with worry. "Kith, how are you? Are you alright?"
He forced a gentle tone. "I’m fine. Don’t worry."
But the weakness in his voice was unmistakable.
Fine?
He was drenched in blood.
She hurriedly took out several high-grade healing pills. "Take these first. I’ll have my friend treat you."
Yanai was stronger than she was; his healing would be more effective. She herself was nearly exhausted.
Kith swallowed the pills. He hesitated, unsure whether to return to human form. He feared his blood-soaked appearance might frighten her.
Yet he wasn’t certain he could hold on much longer.
"Thank you," Nina said sincerely to Yanai and Lex.
"As long as you’re safe," Yanai replied.
Lex felt a flicker of quiet joy. It was the first time she had spoken to him so gently.
That morning, he had hesitated whether to follow her. He hadn’t known how to face her.
In the end, he couldn’t resist.
When he saw her surrounded by mutated beasts, his heart had nearly stopped.
Thankfully, he arrived in time—though not before she was hurt.
His gaze fell on her wounds, pain flickering in his eyes.
"Nina, you’re injured. Let me treat you," Yanai said, stepping forward.
"I’m fine—just minor wounds. Please help my friend first," she urged, pointing to Kith.
Though she insisted it was minor, Yanai activated his power and healed her anyway. Her wounds closed quickly.
As for that male—
He could wait.
A tough male enduring pain for a bit was nothing.
Nina sighed softly but allowed Yanai to finish healing her.
Then she realized something.
"Yanai, why are you alone? Where are Sal and the others?"
Yanai’s expression dimmed with guilt.
"We split up to search for you. I’m sorry. We failed to protect you. You were taken by mutated beasts... you must have suffered."
He couldn’t bear to imagine what she had endured alone.
Today, if he hadn’t found her in time... When he saw her surrounded, his soul nearly left his body.
Days earlier, he had found one of her markers and followed it. But at one point, the trail vanished. He lingered nearby, searching.
Today, he happened to be close when he heard the mutated beasts.
Remembering how they had been attacked before, he came to check.
And saw her in danger.
"I know you split up," Nina said gently. "A few days ago, I met Ghost Wolf. He said he was going to find you and told me to wait in Half-Mountain Tribe. Didn’t he tell you?"
Her brows knit in confusion.
