After My Death, the Love-struck CEO Begs for Reconciliation-Chapter 27 - 28
Serena Sullivan seemed to understand something, but she didn’t dare to speak. She didn’t understand why, why she could still hear my name now.
Since high school, these three words had been entwined around her and Julian Lancaster. My relentless pursuit made everyone add a phrase when mentioning Julian Lancaster—
"What’s the name of Julian Lancaster’s little tagalong again? Clara Everard, right..." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Even though she didn’t want to admit it, it was through such means that I tied myself to Julian Lancaster. That’s why when Julian mentions me, she dares not ask.
But wasn’t he the one who loved her the most at the beginning?
It was my appearance that changed everything.
The design award she couldn’t win, I won;
The parental love she didn’t have, I had;
She couldn’t lower her pride to be with Julian, but I clung to him like a piece of sticky plaster, using underhanded means to entice him. Now, even his heart, I have snatched away.
Serena Sullivan felt I was here to bring her misfortune. She really hated me!
That’s why taking my inspiration didn’t matter, stealing my award didn’t matter, having Julian help her torture me didn’t matter. Because these things were originally hers, everything should be hers!
The sound of the engine shutting off interrupted Serena Sullivan’s thoughts, Julian Lancaster stopped the car here.
Serena looked out the window, and in a daze, heard Julian asking her—
"What is this place?"
Serena glanced around, a little further ahead was the suburban villa from before, after the big fire, this place had already become a wasteland, even more desolate than the suburbs.
She thought Julian had come to reminisce about the past with her, her eyes gradually welled up with tears.
"Get out."
Serena was pulled out cluelessly by Julian. She stood by the roadside, Julian looked at his phone again and again, then told her to stand there while he drove the car a short distance away.
Although she didn’t understand, she complied. Her phone in her bag vibrated; it was a message from Julian. She opened it, and there was only a picture inside.
It was clipped from the newspaper—On May 12th, XXXX year, a major car accident occurred on the provincial road, Mr. and Mrs. Everard died on the spot...
A buzzing sound filled Serena’s ears, she knew what this was. She trembled as she tried to call Julian and at the same time, his car’s engine roared to life.
In desperation, she looked up, the black Bentley came to a screeching halt in front of her, the overwhelming fear caused her to collapse weakly to the ground.
He knew everything.
"Letting you die now would be too easy for you." Julian got out of the car, looking down at her from a superior height, "I will make you pay back everything you did to Clara."
Julian’s car zigzagged around, Serena didn’t care where they were going anymore. She only knew that Julian let her stay by his side now, all to avenge me.
This time the drive was so long, Serena almost fell asleep. Half-conscious, she saw Julian get out of the car and start talking to people outside.
The shock in the afternoon was too much, she hadn’t fully recovered, she could only vaguely hear some voices passing through the car window.
Serena heard ambiguously, suddenly, words like "mental evaluation," "mandatory treatment" reached her ears, she snapped awake and opened the car door indiscriminately.
Seeing her come out, the doctor outside exchanged a glance with Julian, Julian looked at her and nodded to the doctor.
"Begin."
Then several nurses appeared, holding Serena’s wrists. Before she could scream, a syringe was plunged into her neck, and her body immediately went limp.
As she fainted, she heard Julian’s voice come through.
"Atone properly for Clara."
His voice was as cold as ice, as if climbing out from hell.
Atone? Atone for what?
With me, how could she be guilty? The guilty one should be me! If it weren’t for me, she wouldn’t be in such a tragic state, her life shouldn’t have been like this!
